I recently got an interview from this company, i'm wondering if i should really go for it and see what they have to offer, but after seeing all these disgruntled ex workers i'm having second thoughts. Im a college grad and really need money to pay bills.
I've worked for Securitas in Portland, OR. Before that, I was a cop for 2 and 1/2 years. I'm also former military. Oh, did I mention I also have a 4 year college degree? Can you believe I was actually looked over and completely forgotten about when I applied for driver certification and supervisory positions? Yeah. Fuck this company. Yes, I'm a little bitter. I admit it. Fuck em.

securitas in the US is totally different then..i work for em, make pretty decent wages, and work 40 hours a week. I was paid for training, and did the training on whatever day i wanted. And yes we can carry pepper spray, you just have to have your training. It all depends on what accounts you work at

They offer low grade insurance, no compensation for training ( you do training on your days off),Travel time to training is 2 hours one way to get there,and you are unarmed (can't even carry pepper spray) They want you to protect hospital staff and property for 7.25 an hour, what do you use to do this;Harsh language? Securitas says 30 hrs. a week is full time, but the bank will not give you a loan unless you make 40 hrs. a week I quit , I did not even go for training videos!

I've worked security for a long time and securitas guards are the bottom of the barrel, they go through like 8 hrs of training, don't get issued any equipment(not even flashlights) and they have the ugliest uniforms i have ever seen

Exactly! I work for these clowns already! Securitas Canada! I don't know what its like in the US, but here in Canada security guards don't have any power at all or authority. Absolutely none. I am pretty much contract cheap labour for doing odd jobs here and there. They have me delivering 150 newspapers each morning in the office building I work, and on the night shift going to a bakery in the basement to help the store bake doughnuts for the morning customers. Its an absolute joke!
For me it is the best enterprise of security of the world. I work in the securitas portugal and I always took the biggest support as a part of my superiors.

Exactly! I work for these clowns already! Securitas Canada! I don't know what its like in the US, but here in Canada security guards don't have any power at all or authority. Absolutely none. I am pretty much contract cheap labour for doing odd jobs here and there. They have me delivering 150 newspapers each morning in the office building I work, and on the night shift going to a bakery in the basement to help the store bake doughnuts for the morning customers. Its an absolute joke!

For me it is the best enterprise of security of the world. I work in the securitas portugal and I always took the biggest support as a part of my superiors.

@thetrinsic your work is unvaluable, it doesn´t matter "armed"/"unarmed". The price pro hour may vary depending the country. Better when you are armed... but not so much; in fact... 1 €uro (more or less) pro hour. The main problem; the always try to pay, liying you, when they describe the concepts you earn money.
