I recently wrote a case study on Wal-Mart, I know the numbers. Your profit number are off, It's 16.2 billion in profits. The first company in U.S history to mount more than 400 billion dollars. Retail profit numbers are generally small due to the tight margins. Forgive me for not being a union killer.

Wal-Mart's profit numbers are not economics.

Hotels like Hyatt Regency and The Woodlands Resort in Texas do things like that, they don't care if you're starving, they'll pay you an insufficient salary. I understand you have to work hard/educate yourself but that doesn't change the fact that companies like this are evil.

There will always be low paying jobs in the US. Someone has to do the job. If your uneducated, and/or too lazy to better yourself you don't deserve a high paying job. As long as people take these minimum wage jobs. Walmart will still be around. If you don't like Walmart don't work there! Stop complaining because your to stupid to get a better job. Most people can't afford to go to college, and 30% of ALL those who did go to college end up with minimum wage jobs, and massive debts! Those that didn't go to college might still be stuck in minimum wage, but at least they're not stuck with the studant loan debt.

The only reason walmart makes so much is because they pay their employees so little! It's called CAPITALISM!

@gtiapr3 Well who the hell can afford 35K a year? I know I sure as hell can't. It is basically a scam by the banks to force you to take out loans and get a degree that you can never use. Also, many of the schools that are around 10K good luck finding a job with that. A few of my friends fell into that trap and now they are staring at their diploma on the wall with no prospects of making a living wage.

@gtiapr3 Many of my friends went to Drexel University, a full time Co-op option between, tuition, fees, housing, meal plans is around $55, 000. I don't know anyone who is middle class who can afford that without taking out substantial student loans and if you don't have parents who are willing to help which mine weren't they wouldn't even give me their tax records so I could apply for financial aid then that is what you are stuck with. Our country is fucked and people are blaming

as much as I was being full time. Plus, since I got moved to part time, I have to wait until my two-year anniversary to get ONE week of vacation. My closest family lives nearly 1,000 miles away and I'm lucky if I see them once a year. Does wal mart care? No.

I've been working at wal mart for almost 2 years. I started as a temp in Oct., and moved to FT permanent in Dec. For almost a year, I was full time. Then I got bunped down to part time because my "average in hours" wasn't enough to stay at full time status. I had full medical, dental, life insurance, everything, for me, my wife, and our two children. I now only have basic medical for me (I can't even APPLY for family benefits on part time status; computer won't let you) and I'm paying 2x
