  • Beautiful dude. Thanks for helping me relive some great childhood memories. There's a game I've only ever seen at stop n play where you shoot ghosts in a mansion. Do you remember it or know the name?

  • @roseybrown Hey, no problem! I'm sorry, I don't recall that ghost game.

  • I go there at least once a month! :D I own one of the top 5 scores on Chip Away :) I know a glitch to that game, it's fun because I usually win cool prizes on it like free golf, tickets, popcorn, and soda. I love Stop N Play

  • Great video! This was my childhood arcade too. I fondly remember the cave maze which was really dark inside and other kids would hide behind corners and try to scare you like in a haunted house. I remember they had a costumed character dragon that would come out for birthday parties. I loved playing the Bozo grand prize game from the old Bozo the clown show which I'm guessing is probably long gone too.

  • @jaxdan3 The Bozo game is still there! See 5:11

  • @vintagevideogamegeek That's great! I'll have to revist this place next time I visit my parents.

  • Some classic games shame you said in the update alot gone same at my arcade .

  • UPDATE: Visited again yesterday -- and those Pokereno machines that were there FOREVER are now officially gone. They never worked right anyway, but it's a shame that another piece of history has been removed. Now if only all their pinball machines could be working right again :D

  • @DanZero77 Wow. What a shame! I'm glad I was able to see them one last time. Thanks for the update man! Keep 'em coming!

  • The Hard Drivin' cockpit was there until earlier this year, it was always out of order before they got rid of it :(

Don't like the fact After Burner is *2* tokens to play.

She's right -- those Pokereno machines never got fixed.

Pole Position machine was there till around 2009, the monitor was bashed in to one side.

Taito Legends music at the end FTW

  • I go there pretty much every month. I own the Top 5 on Time Crisis 3 right hand side, the left hand side video is a bit too dark. Love the 60-in-1 iCade!

  • if you ever go to ceder point in sandusky ohio has the biggest arcade i have ever been to, its pretty much a airplane hanger full of arcade machines

  • @xXclapXx Sweet, I will have to check that out.

  • lmao i work here now

  • I Remember driving by the Stop-N-Play building, which is a minute away from a goodwill and across from a rattly-looking Service Merchindise building, which closed 9 years ago.

  • @rescuehero942 Yeah, that Service Merchandise building is still there. Pretty sad.

  • wish i could revisit mine..now its the worlds biggest bass pro : /

  • Super Sprint! Now that was a game. 363 tickets and that's all you could get?

  • @princedavid0 Ticket inflation rates are at an all-time high.

  • great Video :D

I just was wondering Is your sister a Gamer

  • @reemCGR She has a Wii, but I don't think that counts.

  • Brilliant. Arcades like that don't seem to exist here in the UK anymore. We have one or two around. Really cool video, sounds like it had some classics.

  • This is the only time I'll ever mention 9:11 in a good way. All boob jokes aside, visiting your old video game stomping grounds is just awesome. Most if not all of my childhood arcades are now Dollar stores or hair salons but thanks for sharing yours with me. Ambush FTW.

  • @toonswap Har har at the 9:11 joke. Have you actually played Ambush? I played it and couldn't tell if I was hitting anything, but I ended up with a score of 110.

  • @vintagevideogamegeek

It's one of those games that I remember playing 25+ years ago but haven't thought about until I watched this video. I honestly can't remember too much about it except the feel of the gun shooting was so awesome and that all the targets were yellow. Still, good memories.

  • Man I can't believe that is still there. I was expecting a grown up lot. All my local ones are long gone...from the little ones to the huge one to the main Aladdin's Castle one I lived in as a child. Those were the days man. I miss the sounds and the games. You would only hear the game you were playing and nothing else. It was weird :)

  • @Daehawk Where was your Aladdin's Castle?

  • @vintagevideogamegeek Mine was in Cleveland, TN inside our old mall. It was there longer than any other arcades around here and was always the best.

  • man dude there are no arcades left here in san antonio. :(

  • Dude that's great this place is still standing. My arcade I grew up playing at is also still around though it's changed a lot. Too bad they don't have a cockpit Star Wars arcade that is super rare and worth over 15K today. I actually saw a cockpit Star Trek machine today in Las Vegas though it wasn't working. I played it a couple of months ago and the controls and overall game is fantastic. BTW Slush Puppies are the BOMB!!!

  • @Gamester81Arcade I couldn't find a pic of the ROTJ cockpit, which makes me think it was a conversion of the first game. I remember trying to play that Star Trek game back in the day, but it was too confusing! I'd love to give it another try. Oh yeah, Slush Puppies FTW! I think I once heard you mention them on AGG. LOL

  • Oh I love to visit old places that I used to go to when I was a kid. I remember we had this old arcade place in the mall we had by where I live that i would always go to. But they tore that mall down to make another bigger better mall......minus the arcade........not good times man not good.

  • Nice video. I liked the montage at the end. I have never heard of that Time Traveler game. It looks crazy.

  • @cheesystick1 Check out my review for it! (Shameless plug)

  • @cheesystick1 It plays alittle like Dragon's Lair except with live actors instead of a cartoon.

  • yes it brings back the days of altered beast, golden axe, captain america, and so on-thanks for shareing the video u dont see many arcades anymore

  • Great video man.

  • The shame your sister has in being associated with you is hilarious, hehe plus I was disturbed how you said you were going to win some balls, enjoyed the montage at the end, really reminded me of the arcades I went to as a kid, all of ours here in Pa were in malls

  • @toegone I think her not wanting to be named has more to do with all the weirdos out there on the Internet.

  • will u ever show ur face

  • @reyjay07 I don't know, but anything's possible!

  • @vintagevideogamegeek haha :P great vid i enjoy watching them keep up the great work from ireland :)

  • them slush drinks, you sip like twice on it and your left with a cup of ice water lol.

  • Dude what a great video! It's pretty impressive that even those few vintage machines are still there. In the UK our arcades are a fraction the size of those in the USA and real estate is at a premium, so things get turned around to make way for the latest coin eater pretty fast. Looks like y'all had a good day out. That purple fuzzy toy was almost yours, damn! The person who designed that machine was some kind of sadistic edward scissorhands I reckon! Ticket eater was funny too. Great vid.

  • @futurematt5 Thanks Matt!

  • You and your sister have a great rapor. Seems like you get along :3

Great video, VVGG. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • @Broshmosh Yeah we get along okay! Thanks for watching!

  • Fun times Geek! It's cool that the place is still around!! Thanks for the tour and sharing your story about it =) Most of my childhood places have either been demolished, or taken over by another business. Is that your older or younger sis? She looks pretty!

  • @PhatPhunk She is six years younger than me, and sorry Phat, she's got a boyfriend! LOL

  • I live like 15 minutes from that place and have been there 100's of times. There used to be a broken pole position in the back but I see its gone now I think the first time I was there was around 1997 and have been there at least once a year since. I think the only reason it is still in business is because it is the only arcade in the county.

  • @TheGameRaider1 Shame about the Pole Position. I used to play on that machine when it was in its prime!

  • My old arcade use to have around 50 to 60 arcades, now it has around 3 and the rest its pool tables.

  • best retro video game channel on youtube. back in 2008 a bunch of people of youtube decided they wanted to be avgn. now, all those people are posting about how their collections are for sale. these days, it seems like the only ones left are the people who actually experienced the games the first time around, which is awesome. great video, vvgg, and hot sister, indeed!

  • @yukmust Thanks for the awesome compliment...about my channel...not my sister. LOL

  • Good stuff. I did not attend any arcade places as there were none in my area when I was a kid. I played arcade games at places like Putt Putt,Dairy Queen and Chuck E. Cheeses. There is a bar that has sum classic games. I need to film that place. Its a shame this place got rid of some of their arcade games.

  • Great video VVGG, I thoroughly enjoyed it! :D

  • @Ab5597 I'm glad you did!

  • @vintagevideogamegeek Ya, that's pretty much what I asked. Thanks for answering. I only ask because I can't even film and talk at the same time in my own house.

  • @TheMetroidMurderer LOL. That's okay. I'm not great live. It's easier to write up and read off a script.

  • Wow man you're lucky! i'd give anything to go back to my old arcade but it's long gone! Gauntlet and PunchOut and Outrun

  • @izaurralde Yeah this one used to have a moving Outrun but I never got into it. I'm almost positive they had a Punch-Out as well back in the day.

  • The afterburner I used to play at the arcades was a sit down one like in terminator 2.

  • @vintagevideogamegeek Do feel nervous about getting looks or trying to get the right shots or trying not to look like a fool or anything else? That's what I mean.

  • @TheMetroidMurderer Are you asking if I felt nervous filming this video? Not really. Nobody seemed to care. I think we looked like a young family on vacation or something. LOL

  • Wow, that's a great video. I'd glad it's still around and by the looks of it still kicking. Pretty much all the local places near me are long gone. You are very lucky to still be able to walk around this the same game room.

  • @MAMECADE Yes, it was a great experience, even if the old games were mostly gone. I love these little trips down memory lane.

  • Do you live in that part of FL?

  • @bendover992002 Maybe I do, maybe I don't. VVGG is clouded in mystery! LOL

  • VVGG + Arcade love = WINNING!!!!

You need to come to Funspot in NH!!

  • @jumblejunkie This I know! One day I will make the pilgrimage and be reunited with my favorite games of yesteryear...(sheds single tear)

  • @vintagevideogamegeek At least this place had some classics! You need to get into Pinball more!

  • @jumblejunkie I know, I know, Mr. Pinball fiend! LOL

  • they still have TMNT at top and play i just played it earlier this year back in may

  • @angelwolf71885 Negative! They have Turtles in Time, which is the sequel, not the original. I took some footage of it but it didn't make the final cut.

  • @vintagevideogamegeek oh lol thats right it was turtles in time lol

the spot where the air hockey is used to be the wall of sit down cabs

they used to have a motorcycle one too

and where the bumper cars used to be net to the bathrooms used to be a one person ferris wheel and that bash the crock game is a original game they had

  • @angelwolf71885 That's awesome you remember all that and you are 7 years my junior. Can you remember any other games that I left out at the end? I remember they also had a Popeye cabinet but I didn't spend a lot of time on it. Didn't they also have a Mr. Do? I might remember the motorcycle game. It was probably Hang-On. I think they also had a Sega Turbo but can't remember if it was sit down or cockpit style.

  • @vintagevideogamegeek when stop and play is the only real fun in town you tend to have alot of fond and specific memorys of stop and play :D

i sorta remember the Popeye game but they didnt have it for long :(

sadly i dont remember a mr do cab :(

it might of been hang on not sure never spent much time on it

i just remember they had 2 large motorcycles that leaned side to side and was white

i dont remember sega turbo i didnt play the flight cabs :( i liked the racing games :D

  • @vintagevideogamegeek that big birtha game is also original along with the bozo ball in the bucket game i was never any good at the bozo game :( LOL

there is also a light up baseball game near the Simpsons cab

a friend of mine is good at it also there is that light up game that similar

and they still have the hungry hungry hippos game

i only ever remember those 3 party spaces being party spaces dont remember the maze nor bumper cars :(

  • your daughter is adorable

  • You're second choice sister is cool, haha you're mean. Cool place. Where I live arcades are all dead.

  • Good Video I tried filming the arcade place I visited when I went to visit my grandparents in Del Rio Texas but the guy or owner saw me filming and kicked me out

  • @retroextreme79 That sucks!

  • I have been to the funspot up in New Hampshire and they have a real computer space machine there that i was able to play. It was sooooo epic.

  • @captaincrazyhat I know I want to go there one day.

  • I seriously miss places like this and that is why I decided to make my own mini arcade in my basement. Thank you for this great video.

  • It's cool to at least know yours is still there. Had two where I grew up, one was turned into a pizza place and the other was torn down along with some other buildings around it for a bunch of houses. Now, most I can do is go to a Dave and Busters and at least sorta relive the experience ._.

  • WOAAHHH

    You're headless

  • Why didn't you take the new pic from the same vantage point as the old one?

  • @1903tx I didn't take that pic. It was from their website.

  • IRON MAAAN!

  • it mush of been just awesome to have gone back there and the place still looks fun today.

  • @jboypacman It was neat to go back but it was much better 20 years ago!

  • @vintagevideogamegeek I can imagine it was.

  • Is it awkward to vblog for you?

  • @TheMetroidMurderer What do you mean?

  • I wish I had an arcade in my hometown.

  • great vid man , the younger generation will never understand how amazing it was to go into the arcades back in the day :)) i remember me and my buddy when we was about 15 getting the train to the coast where it was full of arcades and just playing the machines all day:)))

  • i want that girl to sit on my face

  • really cute hott happy sister.

  • There are no more arcade left from my youth. I am outraged.

  • S.T.U.N. Runner!

  • Damn, your sister's cute!

  • I wish i had some arcade memories
