I was shocked at first by Pastor J.D.'s sermon about Jesus not bringing peace to the world but bringing division. But since Satan is the god of this world it makes perfect sense that Jesus wants to divide us from love of worldly things because His kingdom is not of this world.
Acts 14:22 …strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”
Luke 21:12 & 16-17 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake." Prepare to endure to the end.
It is still the word of truth! 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all t
This mocking is going on EVERY WHERE! The rapture is pre-trib...but NO ONE knows the day or the hour! Keep looking up my brothers and sisters in Christ!
@ThePDCM ..Hi.. I was Mocked today for Not believing in the pre-trib rapture. I was put down so it goes both ways... But I don't think Christians should be fighting over this.....
Goodness i needed to hear this sermon badly, I am the subject of ridicule in my family and with a few friends as well ! SCOFFERS APLENTY it is really sad they are blind and choose not to see . But for whatever the reason they love to tell me im incorrect in my belief. DOESNT BOTHER ME ANYMORE, THANK YOU PASTOR !

I believe we will go through the tribulation. The Bible says we will be persecuted and killed for our faith and that during the tribulation there will be a "Great Apostasy"..... meaning that many "believers" will leave the "faith" and convert to the one world religion which will be Islam........
@TheCinderella29 It also tells us this: 1Thes5:9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. Rev3:10Bcause thou hast kept the word of my patience,I also will keep thee *from* the hour of temptation. Also-Rev 2:10,Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast [some] of you into prison, that ye may be tried; **and ye shall have tribulation ten days**:Small 't' tribulation=Yes. Big 'T' Tribulation= No!
Great teaching of Jesus' Word. I was shocked to hear Joel Osteen include Mormonism in Christianity and Christians eat it up. We follow Christ. Every other Gospel is accursed.
The rapture also challenges peoples ability to control their world- many think they will live so many decades and then they will think about God near the end of their lives- the rapture will mean all they stand for week in and week out like TV, drinking, football etc is meaningless and they cant handle it- they like their world as they have got it for themselves- they dont see their need for a Saviour.
Just perfect Pastor. So many of us needed to hear this especially this week. Its like we are One Body, the Bride. We are all getting the same messages, the same visions and dreams, the same revelations, like One. He truly is coming quickly. Many of us know this is, without a doubt, the TRUTH. God bless you and your loved ones. We will soon be at the marriage feast of the Lamb. :)
yes yes he is right i have seen Christians debating and arguing about bible passages. and it gets nasty very nasty and that is not the love of Jesus!!! we are to be iron sharpens iron. notice it does not say dull.
What if someone close to me is not scoffing me, seems to have an open mind to the Rapture and appreciates that I want to see her up there too, but disagrees about a sexual sin which is no longer taking place because she is no longer involved with him and still believes that it's just a personal conviction that she respects me for choosing to have? Am I wrong to have accepted her invitation to spend Thanksgiving with her and her (very warm, welcoming) family since I am still praying for her conv?
...she goes to Church and, I understand, asks God at the end of each day to forgive her for anything she's done. Do I have to shun HER? Do you think I put myself at risk of missing the Rapture by going ahead and accompanying her and her family for Thanksgiving? I have her "The Star of Bethlehem" and hope to watch it with her while I'm there, and I keep praying that she gets convicted at SOME point!
@Lavenderrose73 IMO- No, not wrong. We all sin in one thing or another. Show the example and friendship. We will all be judged by our heart and overall life. It's Jesus' call- not ours. If your friend is not perfect, remember - none of us are perfect.
@hiyosilver100 Yeah, a classmate who's also a Christian told me the same thing. I'm at her house right now; spent the night. And I kid you not, my visits here are God's foretaste of Heaven because her family makes me feel like a family member. I come here and no one hurts anyone's feelings and I feel like everything's right. Even her 4 year old niece (who's right next to me right now) is very kind and respectful. I'll just keep praying for them.
I have encountered scoffing and mockers not from people in the world, but from Christians.as a matter of fact i have never had anyone who wasn't a believer mock or scoff the rapture.sad.
well, when the rapture does actually happen, many will remember the mocking they did, many will remember hearing about it from friends, and from comments on youtube...there is no way they will not remember...many will willingly choose to believe whatever ridiculous explanation scientists or new agers come up with but I know many will also realize that what they mocked has happened. I hope many will turn to Jesus. God does not want them to perish, we need to just pray for these people.
Thank you Lord Jesus Christ For a Pastor that is not afraid to speak the truth. Bless him and his family. Cover them and give favor in all area's of his life and ministry, to serve Your purposes in Jesus name we pray amen.
I used to wonder why I had to endure so much ridicule in my lifetime -- particularly juvenile to teenage years. Now I realize that the Lord has prepared me to hold on to my beliefs and not be concerned how much mocking or ridicule occurs in these end times. It is only an encouragement; furthermore, I have already been conditioned through years of experience. People will need to toughen up and get a thicker skin and realize that it is their problem -- not mine . . . been there . . . done that.
Yes the Lord has shown me many years ago, that we are to speak the truth in love. Move on another will water. There is ALWAYS someone nearby that is willing to listen...
My very church leadership (I have just recently discovered) are post-tribbers and or Preterists and are telling the people to NOT watch for the Lords return - a quote from todays sermon when they were preaching out of Acts ch 1 - "Stop looking up at the sky drooling on yourselves and go do what Jesus told you to do!" -- I was and still am broken hearted. :'(
@SammiepieS I wonder if he knows everything that Christ told us to do, because it doesn't sound like he does too me. Just saying..."Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." Jesus said that in Matthew 24:42...
@xTheUnknownTruthx - I KNOW! I am floored - some how or another they believe that if we are watching we won't be fulfilling the Great Commission -- I believe it is just the opposite - those who are watching KNOW the urgency! I put II Timothy 4:8 as my Facebook status - and I know he sees it...
@eyem4freedom - we just joined this church in March - left our previous one because they had begun preaching Rick Warren instead of the Bible - never even occurred to me to ask what their beliefs on the end-times were.... and to compound it -- I teach 7-10th grade girls in Sunday school there now.... and the youth minister is the biggest "scoffer" of them all .... My husband & I are now praying on what we should do... really praying that it's a moot point and Jesus returns now =)
@SammiepieS I was grieved for so long that my pastor said barely nothing about sin/repentance, Jesus even! And NOTHING about the crazy things or his coming back. I had to ask him point blank. We were definitely leaning toward Rick Warren type stuff. If it was JUST end times teaching, I thought I'd be okay. But, I really thing that is such a dividing factor in churches these days. Keep praying.
Pastor, you have described my family. I love them so much and the division is a grief to me. Any other topic could be brought up except the Word. They would talk about total fiction, sci-fi before talking about the OT or NT. Your words today are a comfort, hearing the words of Christ knowing what direction to remain in. By the grace of God, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, I'll keep following Jesus. There is nowhere else to go. He is life and truth. He is God's door. God bless you.
only the bride waits for the groom, all others have no interest. They have no marriage plans to fulfull and are already married to the world. When Christ returns, they will see that world turn to ashes, and have neither the Groom or the world-but complete darkness.
I have suffered mocking due to our belief of what God says that there IS a rapture, but I am happy to be a fool in the eyes of the world. We can only pray for them because there will be a time when they will not be able to mock when we are called up to the cloud to be with our Jesus.
