First time for this gal, believe me. Surfer Joe & Wipeout were on the charts back when but Karen wasn't , at least not in Vancouver & I wonder why she did't compete with the likes of Denise, Sherry & Sheila for that top spot. Actually when I think of it Karen is probably more my type than were the other girls the hit the charts. Karen, dosen't sound sexy & new but groovy & cute....i luv this gal & I'll be back to get another dose of good ol' r&r in the name of Karen. lol & thx4postin'
"KAREN" was orginally the first segment of "90 BRISTOL COURT", a 1964-65 MCA/Universal "package" of three situation comedies in a 90 minute format, with "transitions" by Guy Raymond as "Cliff Murdock", the handyman of the complex where the characters from all three series lived [including "HARRIS AGAINST THE WORLD" and "TOM, DICK AND MARY"]. However, "KAREN" was the only one to have enough ratings to be renewed at mid-season (as a solo series), but was cancelled at the end of the season.
Ken forsii was the bass player on that lp then he was in love then there was trouble [people whio are into heavy drug abuse dont have long lifespans lets put it that way ].
I always liked when THE SURFARIS sang, even though they were not exactly known as A vocal pop group ~ their "beach boys" sound was really good and their cover versions of hits were often better than the Originals!
I have the video intro to this show but I don't recall it ever airing...anyone remember this show? Debbie Watson played Karen...the father was played by Richard Denning who was Lucille Ball's radio co-star in "My Favorite Husband," before "I Love Lucy"...woah...got a bit carried away Brush....
I've got an old video of the beginning of the show and I don't believe it is a pilot since the show's sponsor has been chosen...the beach boys aren't singing on it and I assumed it was the group that released the single...but I'm no expert if someone has more info.

Yes, Mosher was also writing and co-producing "THE MUNSTERS" (with partner Joe Connelly) during the period "KAREN" was produced.
fromthesidelines 2 years ago
The theme, incidentally, was composed by the series' musical director Jack Marshall, with lyrics by co-producer Bob Mosher.

I recognise Bob Mosher's name from the credits on The Munsters.

1965年放映の同名ドラマの主題歌です。
女子校生が主人公の青春ドラマで、当時は
フジテレビで放映されていました。
ビーチボーイズは多分出してないと思います。
シングル、コンパクト、アルバムにも載っていませんよ。

The video with the Beach Boys singing this to the TV series is on YT, which was a surprise as I'd only ever known it as a Surfaris' song.

It was on tv in the us but i dont think the beach boys version of the theme was ever issued on a record .
