  • what are you using???

  • those fuckers are huge

  • going to washington dc from LA and I really want to fish at the potomac river but i have no boat. any tips? or address you guys can provide? I am going to be staying at maryland i believe. really need some tips any help?

  • Hello, i have fished for Stripers on Lake Anna Virginia if you know where that is. I am now purchasing a boat here on the Potomac. I would LOVE to learn how to catch Stripers on the Potomac for many reasons. 1. THEIR BIGGER! 2. I know how much of an awesome fight they give. Down on the lake we catch herring with a casting net and hanging a lantarn under a bridge early in the morning. how do you catch them there on the potomac? Is herring the bait to use or is there an artificial thats works? TY!

  • Cool video but it looked that fish was dead the entire time.

  • @ClarkJudah

LOL...I agree, it didn't splash much did it. That area of the Potomac River has significant current and by the time we land them, they're worn out pretty bad. We make sure to spend time reviving the ones we release and have never had a belly up, fortunately. If you watch the full version on my channel you'll see me revive and release it to be caught another day...

  • @cbadra2 ye they are pretty beat from their migration to the river to spawn am i right?

  • how do yall catch the herring there? any suggestions on the best way?

  • have you every caught any pickerel or bowfin in the potomac?

  • @jballin345

    Nope...

  • anyone gone yet this year?

  • I'm goin there soon have you ever gone just for the Blue Cats there?

  • Definitely! There are plenty of them up there! We usually catch a mixed bag of channel cat, blue cat, and stripers up there during April and May, especially when we use chunks of cut herring. Good luck!

  • is the striper fishing good in the end of april and beginning of may? and do you use sabiki rigs to catch the herring?

  • @cbadra2 wait a sec i meant beggining of april and end of march haha

  • @cbadra2 do you know if the striper run is goin to happen in early April? like round the first? and did you use a sabiki rig to catch the herring?

  • It's all about water temperature. When the news is out about the shad and herring running, it's time to go fishing. Mid April through mid May seems to be the most productive time frame. A sabiki rig is a good choice for the herring...

  • @cbadra2 do you know if a sabiki rig is legal? and would early april be fine fer blue cats?

  • Fletcher's boathouse? Is that place still operated by REDNECK RAY & JEALOUS JOE?

  • Little baby stripers.

  • thats some good eatin

  • The river bottom slopes to >80 ft deep. At what bottom depths do you typically set your baits? I use cut bait at about 10 feet deep on the flats above the drop offs w/ good success. Do you fish much deeper?

  • We caught these stripers on live herring fished on the bottom in early May. We were fishing just south of Fletcher's Boat House, but still in sight of it.

  • wat season is this video

  • The big stripers start coming up in early April and the run last until the middle of May.

  • How far north of DC is that? I live in Arlington.

  • This is right at Fletchers Boat House. About 1 mile below Chain Bridge.

  • What kind of baits do you use for these stripers?
