there is alot of debate over who was the best. pele - a functional player who did not have much skill but had a long career and was part of some good teams. maradona - probably the most skilful and best dribbler. zidane - for all round ability - very hard to match - he could shoot, dribble, head the ball and had some fantastic exquisite skills. overall it has to be zidane - he won the world cup and the euro championships with france, plus champions league and domestic titles in europe.
