I made up a nice combo with Kain, just launch your enemy with a Lance Burst, Crashing Dive, Celestial Shooter or Lance barrage. Make sure you do the directional button the right way, so that you can speed up to the enemy with a dash (it'll be a super-dash). After launching, most preferably upward, dash up to him, then do a Sky Rave when you're as close as you can. That way you won't have the risk of letting yourself open, do this above a Banish Trap for a drilling attack. Very good to spam!

I'd say Kain looks more like Sephiroth. His attacks execute really quickly, but if you miss, you're really vulnerable for a second or two afterward.

Kain seems to be like Squall in that he has pretty powerful and easy to land Brave attacks, but his HP attacks require a lot more set-up to land than most characters.
