  • I'm kind of surprized they wanted to skinny dip at their age. If they were even younger than this I might understand but they look like 8 or older here and I would be embarassed to skinnydip in front of others at that age. In addition the time period in the early 1970s. I also wouldnt think they would want to do that in front of their brother or sister.

  • I have to say that I am totally LMAO reading the comments posted on this!

  • When Alice says "no buts", she means it!

  • They really buried the punchline of the scene by glossing over the "no butts" line. But it was The Brady Bunch, and it's entirely possible the Bradys didn't have them.

  • NO BUTTS, INDEED

  • yes I remember this being on tv too but the episodes have been heavily trimmed down for syndication, on the DVD's you'll see the full episode as filmed and shown in the 1970's before the syndication edits. Many episodes are like this, think of i dream of jeannie which always had a opening scene of a five minute segment that came on before the theme credits that were either re-cut to be seen after the credits if it was a big part of what the episode was about if not you did not see it re aired!

  • I'd like to know what went through Alice's mind after she returned to peeling the Potatoes?

  • No buts or No butts?

  • What's this episode called?

  • Robert Reed did ask for more cutting edge scripts. I guess this was one of them

  • i remeber seeing this air, was it cut later?

  • I happened to see a few episodes when I was a kid. But I wasn't a fan so I never watched much. So I of course don't remember seeing this. But this was actually a scene? That's actually rather shocking. It kind of makes me wonder what other strange crap went unnoticed.

  • Notice Alice opens Cindy's robe AFTER she finds out she's naked....PERV

  • OOHHH MY GOD

  • It’s on the DVDs. I found this strange...

  • "don't you think your mom and dad would want you to get all those vitamins from the sun? you don't need to get their permission."

"gosh, doctor, I never thought of that..we'll be right over..."

  • Paedophile alert!

  • @MsPelicanus Yeah, Alice should have called the authorities right away on this "doctor".

  • I remember watching this the first time when it aired in the 70s (was a huge Brady fan). Of course, I was a kid then but didn't really didn't struck me as anything abnormal then. Now watching this scene, I realize it is somewhat bizarre.

  • Wow, this is too much. I had never seen this before.

  • Great quality -_-

  • That was a different age all together

  • This scene wasn't deleted from the original show. I remember seeing this, when I was a child.

  • @chenryrex I never saw it, and i was in my teens.

  • That's the closest situation to real life as I have ever witnessed on "The Brady Bunch"

  • @Cattwo12 true to that ! >^.^<

  • I don't believe any boy or girl that age would have ever wanted to be naked in front of their brother/sister unless they grew up in a home where it was done all the time. Most kids that age are pretty modest.

  • @IndyJDguy so true

  • I remember watching that episode.

  • Interesting to see modern day sexual paranoia projected onto a popular early 70s TV show. How curiously quaint.

  • @Onneff69 exactly. The networks are so afraid of some wacky watchdog group bringing a protest against their advertisers, they even worry about 40-year-old TV shows that everybody over a certain age has already seen and thought was no big deal (i.e. nothing bad happens to Bobby or Cindy).

  • @squeapler No, nothing "bad" did happen - except in the constipated little minds of some of the "modern" commenters here.

  • Skinny dipping wasn't unheard of back in the 60's and 70's, although it was rarely co-ed. When boys went down to the river or swimming hole it was common to bare all and not shameful. Sorry, but this scene is not overly shocking.

  • @ameliakitty5

    And everybody has done it...

    when they bathe. Admit it.

  • It's not a lost scene. I saw this when I was a kid. Gimme a break, you don't know anything about what aired on tv 30 years ago.

  • I remember seeing this also when it aired and for awhile you could see it in syndication. Innocent for that time era and yet creepy currently.

  • O.K. Alice said "To go up stairs and Suite-Up"...in the next scene you never saw , Bobby & Cindy did go up-stairs and did suite-up and then Alice said....'Now that's Better" have FUN but be Home by Dinner Time".....after the wen't next door...will you know the rest....The Jokes on Alice ..Ha.Ha.Ha.

  • What do I think ? It was the post 60's and Free Love was still in the air. this would make it on T.V. if there was more scenes like this one on the show , that talked about the News of that time.

  • Marsha is going too? Im there.

  • @journeyquest1 Right on to that me brother!

  • They were doing it in the closet !

  • wow, I missed that one. Wished I had scene the whole episode. Having gone skinny dipping before with friends at that age back in the late 70's, we never made any big deal about it...except for one friends mother who was a stricked Morman. She flipped when she found out her son was doing it.

  • This episode WAS shown on tv. I remember watching it. And she did tell them to go back upstairs and "suit up"! Brady Bunch was cutting edge, apparently. They show Bobby in his tighty whities in the "Safety Monitor" episode.

  • @coinsiluv1 This was shown all the time in the 70's with this scene intact. Only later in the 90's it was cut out.

  • Comment removed

  • @Aliendear Hate to argue with you, but Channel 5 in NYC showed these all the time and I remember seeing this numerous times. This was never an outtake, it was in the original show.

  • @huntr7777 it first aired on ABC TV New York

  • A doctor that invites kids over to swim nude at thier pool? That doesn't sound creepy at all.

  • The BRADY BUNCH did an episode dealing with NUDITY???

My entire world view has been irrevocably altered.....

  • And Alice was fired and replaced by an illegal immigrant

  • Comment removed

  • I saw an 8MM film of this...

  • Comment removed

  • I saw this live in 1970, it wasn't deleted.

  • @zapkvr I agree I saw it too, but I thought it was in 1972 and you're right it wasn't deleted.

  • What the heck? Alice still lets them go?

  • So...a new family moves into the neighborhood and they immediately invite their neighbors' preteen kids to a skinny-dipping party.

    Somebody call the cops!

  • Meanwhile , Alice found several reasons to go over to the good Doctor's house....after taking off her granny panties..

  • I remember seeing that a very long time ago. Before Ted Turner and his affiliates took it out of all the existing reruns of The Brady Bunch. But you can see all the unedited episodes if you buy the DVD sets.

  • Who the hell would let kids go to a pool where the owner wanted them to swim naked?

  • @tryithere

Well, it was the early '70s, when it was considered standard practice for swimming pools at many public schools and YMCAs to not allow clothing. And the owner is a doctor, after all, so there's nothing he hasn't seen before.

  • @logik316 Where the hell were you swimming? Wasn't standard practice anyplace I swam at in the 70's.

  • @Coasterdude02149

Actually, maybe by the '70's it was dying out. But for a long time, swimming trunks weren't allowed because years ago the fibers of the old style wool swim pants had a tendency to clog pool filters. So in all school swimming pools (which based their policies on the YMCA), you had to swim naked. The pools were also boys-only, so it was no big deal. When the pools started to become co-ed, the policy gradually changed and swim suits became the norm.

  • @logik316 Makes sense coz they were nazis about making people wear caps if you had long hair so it wouldn't clog the filters. Everything was co-ed for me tho...lots of girls in pool so this was long gone by the time I began swimming

  • @logik316 That's why swimming pools ban cutoffs - the strings get caught in the filters.

  • Actually the mythical doctor may have been strnge but a genius. He knew way back then "the sun if full of vitamins." Actually it's vitamin D, and most of us don't get enough. But skinny dipping isn't the answer.$2 a month at Walmart Vit D 5000 units a day

  • I wonder if Alice's bloomers moistened at the sight of Bobby's junk?

  • @nickatdusk I would call you a weirdo, but hey, why else is everyone here?

  • I do remember this clip from when I was really young, then never saw it again until the dvd's came out. Funny how I never noticed it was missing all those years.

  • Yes, The Brady family always was on the cutting edge of TV with each episode until the series ended knee deep in their own filfth. The End of America.

  • "You're not going to swim in an X-rated swimming pool without your parent's permission."

So, shes saying, theres a chance mom and dad would be okay with this?!

  • Where's pedo bear when you need him? lol!

  • Alice to Bobby: Significant shrinkage, like a frightened turtle !

  • ...I remember seeing this on TV ... just this way!

  • WTF

  • idk but the doctor sounded like a perve

  • @kitkatcat I wuz gonna say pedophile but perve works too.

  • Yes....let's go skinny dipping at Captain Howdy's house!

  • I remember seeing this episode. Who says it's deleted?

  • Also, swimming starkers is a great way to get a sunburn on your "lowers" --ouch!

  • I definitely didn't see that scene when we used to watch The Brady Bunch!! LOL!!

  • "the sun has lots of vitamins". ah the 70s

  • @whitedevil2 No, not just the 70's...Have you ever heard of vitamin D?

  • No "butts", lol

  • So like am i the only one tripping out on how cool Alice is with letting those two kids go skinny dipping at some doctors house?

  • @Tri4z Look again. She's not cool with it at all. In fact, there was no "letting" about it. She told them to put on their bathing suits. How could you possibly perceive something different in this?

  • At 0.46, Alice said, "No butts"

  • WTF? I mean the entire problem was that skinny dipping and streaking was so popular in the 60s that it was like for about 5 years the concept was common place, but how did the network let this happen....Did this really air? And the thing about Alice looking in their robes is what all adults do when they are making sure that kids are not trying something sneaky they should not. Imagine if she had not checked. Those kids would have been with some grown man letting them swim naked!!

  • @brownscorpio..........and with some grown woman! Try to think outside your effing narrow, sexist mind.

  • The network did not allow any toilets but they allowed Alice to check out Bobby's dick and Cindy's vajayjay? What about the "Sargent Emma" episode when Mike says. "Alice, its 6 o'clock in the FUCKING morning!" Awesome

  • @crossy70 Is that on the dvd??? That is TOO funny!!!!

  • wow. they attempted this scene but they cant put a toilet in the bathroom?

  • Perhaps the deleted scene is where Marcia heads on over anyway. One can only hope...

  • what episode is this from?

  • @madge555 It's from the "stay away from Captain Howdy" episode.

  • yes the would be a delite seans? and what they say i wanted to see more like cindy/bobby in a nude from the back side it still would rated G in tv show in 2000-2011 but in 1960's-70's it would like rated PG13 it was showing on a tv show

  • WTF??!!!

  • Alice is right. I support nudism but the nudist family next door should have introduced themselves to the parents first.

It's played for laughs so I can't analyze the scene. Bobby and Cindy seems so comfortable with the idea that they're going to walk down the street in bathrobes and nothing else. And neither protest when Alice opens his robe. Yeah, sure.

It was a more innocent time.

  • lmao "you're not wearing your bathing suit, you're wearing your birthday suit!"

  • Anne B. Davis is a master of the comic reaction and double-take.

  • Apparently their neighbors are the Gucciones.

  • how sad and typical for America

  • @robertev35 what the hell is sad about nudity? Dont be a prude man, nudity is a good thing and American nudity is the best kind. This scene was very innocent and was also filmed in 1973 so why do you have to come on here and start dragging down the country about it? I suppose in your home everyone has to change their clothes behind locked doors.

  • @letsplaycards40 You missed my point completely. i agree with you whole heartedly. . What I said is sad that Alice the adult figure took that view point and the Children were so innocent about nudity. maybe one day, we can grow up.

  • @letsplaycards40 well, i agree that people get freaked about nudity. and that many people naked generally means there is nothing sexual about it. but, still you should ask the kid's parents. just to be on the safe side.

  • Reminds me of "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls".

  • to day the cop would had ben called to next door

  • wtf... LOL! this just made my day already XD

  • I'm pretty sure I remember seeing this scene on TV...

  • "The sun has lots of vitamins"

  • This was just before Alice realized Bobby and Cindy were f***ing each other's brains out and she had caught them.

  • What the...I am officially scarred by one of my favorite tv shows...lol

  • there fathers a doctor lol

  • I remember this scene when I saw it originally and it wasn't deleted. Hmm... I remember being a little creeped by it at the age of 8, though.

  • I gotta admit, that scene is kinda creepy lol...my memory won't allow me to accept that Alice saw Bobby naked or that Bobby and Cindy were gonna see each other naked. :)

  • It wasn't deleted; the original airing and early syndicated reruns had the scene intact. You'll find in recent rerun airings that most episodes have some editing not because of content but to shorten the episodes to be able to sell and air more commercials.

  • I remember seeing it on T.V. it wasn't deleted!

  • lol!! Now this was hilarious! What ep was this cut from?

  • Totally tubular to the max!

    xoxo

    The Clarences

  • So let me see if I understand Alice's logic: It not ok for Cindy & Bobby to swim in the buff, but it's ok if they go over to their friend's pool and watch them do it...

  • @rjfox76 seriously to they shouldnt have gone anywhere near them again period i know it was the seventies but when kids are involved its a comptlely different story

  • @rjfox76 You're right! That is twisted!

  • Which episode was this from?

  • ive got this on dvd its not deleted

  • @bulldogman59

Hey thanks for letting us know this thanks

  • @thenudistreporter He's probably just telling you because you put it in the description.

  • @thenudistreporter how dare he correct your error.

  • didn't even know that the term x rated existed back then. it seems like it would be nonexistent in the world of the bradys.

  • I remember seeing that. That was very daring for the innocuous Bradys. In this day and age, why should it be deleted?

  • X-Rated swimming pool? Crikey, that's a newie for me. Did she think there was going to be some sex orgy going on?!

  • I'm sure she had seen them naked before this incident.

  • @cainster Yeah. She's probably given them a bath before or something like that.

  • Oh, come on Alice. Don't be such a prude!

  • Very Funny!!

  • that was groovy and hilarious !!

  • Nowadays it would fly right by the censors.
