I just watched the video. A female officer used excessive force in trying to apprehend 87 Y/O woman with knife. After she was on the ground, officers appear to be trying to help her because she's bleeding. They are not beating her as is being claimed. Actually, the officer gave her more than 2 seconds. She approached the woman slowly and asked her to put the weapon down several times.
I know personally that age doesn't matter, older people can actually be very strong and combative, but no, I don't think the officer should have slammed her to the ground.

If you say anything about it being staged or pro the officer needing to protect themselves... see how fast youtube bans your channel because of complaints of racism. by the way the officer could have simply removed the knife after taking control of the womans arm and the finishing takedown was un warranted at the point of control. I just watched the video. A female officer used excessive force in trying to apprehend 87 Y/O woman with knife. After she was on the ground, officers appear to be trying to help her because she's bleeding. They are not beating her as is being claimed. The only officer that used force was the female who should be suspended w/o pay pending an investigation.
