Here's the thing. This is HER recipe, HER way of doing it, and the way that SHE wrote it. No one ever said it was written in stone. If you don't like some of the amounts, fix them, change them, do what you want with them *shrug* No need to be an ass over something silly.

you should have heated the flour tortilla so it would not have cracked in half or crumbled up, the "carnitas" looked cold too. If you have "red chile powder" you don't have to add salsa verde. I have thought about going vegan, but this did not help me to try vegan foods.
I want to try this at home, and I went out and bought canned jackfruit and only realised when I got home and looked at the recipe on the site that it said to NOT use jackfruit in syrup. Will it really ruin the recipe if I use it anyway? Should I go out and find it in brine/water?
I bought the book a few months ago!! I Love love it!! So excited to find you on YT!!! I've never tried jackfruit before but all these ingredients looks so yummy!! I must try it!!
@morethansalt If you can find a fresh young jackfruit, yes. This is next to impossible in the US. When jackfruit is ripe, it's very sweet and loses the ability to pull apart like in the recipe. You may have luck at Asian grocery stores finding fresh (maybe young) jackfruit.
wow looks delicious!!! gonna make it asap! thanks!

Hahaha, avocado masher. When I was little I called it a bean masher. Who cares if they're made for potatoes, we call it like it is.

But there are plenty of tattoo parlors on the West Coast that do have vegan tattoo ink.

PS: just a heads up, most tattoo ink isn't vegan.

Fresh Jackfruit has a sticky almost latex-like stuff that covers the knife , fingers, everything....right?
I heard jackfruit is the flavor behind juicyfruit gum :-)

That's so cool! I had never heard of jackfruit, but I am definitely going to try this. It really does look like it has a meat-like texture.
