Hail Mary is a prayer. Ave Maria is the same prayer but sung in song, and in a different language. It's a cry to the mother of god.

"Ave Maria we try, Ave Maria we cry" - Pretty much saying We're trying, and "Ave Maria we cry" is pretty much saying We cry to marry.
