  • they re-opened it at all since the new Doctor Who has been running?

  • @mutley2209 no they haven't, but there is the new permanent 'Doctor Who Experience' somewhere in/near London, so that is like a new updated version of longleat

  • Its is so sad that they is no where that children can see the classic doctor who monsters and doctors any more even the Blackpool one has now closed for good.

  • @0doctor0who0 agreed

  • I went round this when I was about 5, scared me to death, I thought Doctor Who was Scary then! ;-D

    Great vid

    5*

  • glad i got to see it before it went

  • My grandmother worked at the Longleat exhibition, but then had to retired in '95

  • good idea longleat looks fab!

  • we should all club together and demand this comes back!

  • my imagination used to run wild when i was in this place !

  • same, i am campaining for them to bring it back!

  • true ,is there anyone else who can remember that shop that used to be around the corner ?

  • I remember the shop! First visited it back in 1989 when I was ten- talk about kid in a sweet shop. There was the Celestial Toyroom- you looked through a diamond shaped window and there were loads of masks from various monsters, a cleaning robot and the L1 robot. Nowt wrong with my memory!!

  • this is the best video on youtube

  • i agree ,never remove this vid ,its gold !

  • can anyone remember the smaller exhibition and shop that was round the corner from the tardis exhibition ?

  • this place was so cool, they replaced with a bunch of bats or something. the tardis entrance is the same, but its painted grey. Many a stoned afternoon was had wandering around that place. There should be a virtual online version or something

  • They closed it after it was announced that the series is returning. Bloody idiots.

  • no, they don't do a doctor who weekend again either. :( I hope they make a new one like the ones at lands end and earls court, twould be awesome.

  • What was the reason given for closing the Longleat exhebition, it's really annoying that they closed it for me as it's the asiet one to get to for me a si live in someset. The Cardiff one is alot further away for me and only houses new series stuff, not classic series that Longleat did. It's really strange they closed it as they only revamped the exhebition a few years earlier. Do you know if they still do a Doctor Who weekend still, or is that finished also?

  • i think it burnt down

  • no, i think it burnt down between 1991 and 99 as i went in 99 and it was totally different and it had a section of old burnt stuff on display, for some reason. It closed a few years l8r, but b4 they announced Doctor Who's return :/

  • this is soooo cool to me,because in 1991 i was at an age when my imagination was at its peak,i loved this exhibition.thanks!

  • most of this stuff is actually in the present blackpool exhibition

  • Damn, I remember this exhibition, the Dalek voice synthesiser was great! And LOL at the Kandyman! XD

  • I remember the original Blackpool exhibition, and the disappointment I felt when I found it had closed down.

But on the bright side, it led to the first of many joyful visits to Somerset.
