I play differen't styles and genres, this solo was amazing! The one part of the solo where he did that kick ass buzz roll on the snare, his wrist didn't even look like it was moving...amazing! I'd like to know how he did that and to do it that fast. I have been trying to do that for the longest time.

Amazing! This is great! For those who don't dig it, it's because they're either jealous or they just don't get it. Tom is trying to create a groove here and he's pulling out poly rhythmic ideas from every direction. You less intrigued drummers out there are just expecting to see Tom pull a hardcore speed drum solo but Tom is a mature enough player that he makes it interesting. He waits and then he pulls a traditional Buddy move with his speed at the end of his solo. Brilliant stuff, Tom.

It's ridiculous to compare Tom Grosset to Buddy Rich. In this solo, Tom wasn't trying to sound just like Buddy Rich, he was incorporating ideas from guys like Bill Stewart, Ari Hoenig and I heard some Steve Gadd in there too so I don't understand why you're trying to compare this guy to Buddy Rich and remember this dude is 18 in this video. He won this speed drumming competition called the Worlds Fastest Drummer (approved by Guinness world records) in the states a while back and became the worlds fastest drummer in the 16 and under age category and the 3rd fastest in the world in all age categories. And if u wanna talk about musicianship (which is a totally different topic) I suggest you check out Toms other videos before you make any kind of judgment
