The problem we so often have is we always want to argue with Gods prophet, ALWAYS. Whenever Israel thought to disobey or argue with Gods prophet it was ALWAYS bad news ALWAYS. What we want to do is justify what we like to do or listen to etc, etc, etc. This preacher has it right and the sources he is using has it right as well. When it comes to music it doesn't matter how it makes us feel or how we feel about it, if the warning is stay away, then the only safety is to stay away. That is all
As a musician, I believe SOME preachers/Pastors have a distorted view of God's views on music. Ellen G. White was pretty harsh , in my opinion , on what 7th Day Adventists should and should not listen to. Not all secular music is bad. Music speaks on different topics. You DO have to be prayerful about what you listen to . Music is the only medium that can influence BOTH sections of the brain. Bottom line is , if it can influence you to do ( or think) evil.....STAY AWAY FROM IT! nuf 'said!
Dear Blacksdahistory, please share that sermon he said is coming the following week and after - The Sabbath and Worship parts 1 and 2. These sermons are such Sabbath blessings for my Friday nights and Sabbath afternoons -and my mom also. Thank you for all you post!
@shenieva1 I'm not sure you watched the entire sermon Shenieva, your comment seems out of place to the entire content. I can see if you only watched the first few minutes how you could draw that conclusion. If you did not watch the entire sermon then you're not following your own advice.
If you have good information on music I'd be interested to see if you could post a link or PM me.

I just dont like it when pastors talk a bit on music to justify what they are doing in worship withouth studying all the material there is on music.

This pastor does not know what he is talking about. Offcourse God likes diversity but He gave clear instructions regarding music.
