  • LOve iT!!!

  • Kick-ass totally awesome song, it rocks!!! love the startup guitar plucking then the build up, instrumentals are superb, esp diggeridoo and the vibes, such creative genius that vocal duet with Kandi Stanton sample they did it justice,in fact I would say Kandi sounded even better, so raw, origin from Pasty Kline, I didn't know before, they paid some homage to her and Kandi, but it's a totally different song in the look and feel and modernized. A bit of a twist to the original. Love the bass 2.

  • Love this....it gets me in my soul. Makes me want to close my eyes and imagine how that would feel.

  • Love this song

  • Bones brought me here! Best song for that perfect goodbye!

  • isn't that coldplay?

  • TO YOU MY PRESIOUS ANDY " : ) "

  • ADELE!!!! =3

  • Bones <3

  • The woman's name is Kandi Stanton, she did one R&B album in the late 60's or early 70's and the original song was about heartbreak. She the went on to do gospel only.

  • Bones... love it

  • Patsy Cline rip off!

  • @3littlbirds ya! no one should ever play anyone else's music!!! we should only have one version of every song.... that does soud stupid huh... so do you

  • @3littlbirds sorry about the type-o, if you don't have anything good to say... shut the fuck up

  • Who does the women's voice?

  • LOVE THIS GROUP ! ! ! !

  • I wish you had remixed this with Norah Jones as the female vocals..... it would've been a fascinating tribute to Candi Stanton

  • the 'eat more cake' mix is great

  • Incredible

  • my favorite one such a heartbreak song ahhh

  • Love it!

  • This song makes me want to do a slow naked grind against someone I love! Such a great sound! So much pain and longing!!

  • damn good song !!!!!!!

  • gaaaaah saw them live 2 days ago.

  • I love this song. Makes my heart swell.... omg...

  • I really liked this when I first heard Janice Long plugging it about 2 years back. Then I discovered it's actually a cover but now listening to it...am I right in thinking that this is a sample of Candy Staton's lovely version?

  • Wow. Love all the different versions, interpretations of this song. It's always cool to get Different Perspectives, in all things, keeps life interesting, and fresh.

  • They called Kandi because they took they voice and tune of how Candi Staton redid it. How clever. I love bother versions.

  • @bambambritt

One Eskimo had their first U.S. debut live performance on the Ellen show on March 17th, 2010.

(it is posted here on YT)the following week the sales of their CD tripled

    Way to Go!

  • Well, if you hate it, I suggest not listening to it if it hurts your ears that much. I'm sure you got better things to do then trash some song.

My opinion though, I like this song!

  • haven't we all been there? The obsession, the jealousy, the slow descent into heartbreak and hopelessness. Ahh the pangs of unrequited love!

  • @ambrood

very well spoken as this song sings to our hearts, minds and souls,

right to the core of our being of wanting to be loved and accepting rejection

no wonder this is such a big hit on Top 40 radio

    GR8 Post

  • BONES!!!! Glad i finally found this amazing song!

  • @misspiddles158 makes me cry every time :) SEPTEMBERRR!

  • @Theralex I know:( But i can't wait!!!

  • Harlan Howard, a superstar songwriter in Country Music, wrote He Called Me Baby in 1962. Patsy Cline was the very first to record the heartbreaking mournful ballad in 1963.. All the other artists took their turn and gave it their best shot in their own style & interpretation of the song. One Eskimo incorporated the chorus of He Called Me Baby into their own expression and vocals of this fine story telling tune and gave exposure to all of the other artists who have ever recorded this song.

  • @USMCLoneWolf1 and they used Candi Stanton's cover of the song as a sample

  • People who are negative and say it's crap and that Candi Staton's version is better are all so ignorant. It has her singing the hook! So, it's a collaboration between the original artist and One Eskimo. It's her, updated. Don't be so negative. If you don't like this version, just keep walking. Peace out!

  • @HeartOnMySleeve77 It's still crap.

  • @Ebonius Could you at least say 'I don't like it?'..

I mean, it's only crap in your eyes after all...I think it's great so..

    x

  • @Ebonius And Jason Derülo can't even GET a girl...poor guy xD I didn't mean to offend you. Just saying that peopples music taste is different :)

  • @Ebonius So why are you still here? Get lost and leave those of us who enjoy this music to listen peacefully.

  • @HeartOnMySleeve77

I love this song as much as you do.

You cannot reason with an irrational mindset as the bitter evil poster seeks to engage others to share his self misery with others, it's best to vote him down, flag him & ignore him. Pity the fool,

no matter how many times the bitter/miserable one comes to visit here, the reality is, One Eskimo is a great band with a great sound. that will never change.

I wish One Eskimo a very successful future!

  • @HeartOnMySleeve77

I have the CD, it is a soothing collection of songs that is good to listen to when stuck in traffic or anytime. Kandi (He Called Me Baby) is my favorite song from the CD. Top 40 radio is playing it, One Eskimo is out in concerts and venues promoting it & they have millions who support them.

One Eskimo is a very talented band

  • two moos, god bless their love.

  • JAMMIN WITH MIY MOOOOS. I miss you Aaron. You always share the awesome jams. Mark, good mornin moo. RIP. MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • All night long? LMFAO!

  • Love the song and the video--one of my very favs, nice job!

  • Almost as good as Candi Staton.

  • This song plays in the supermarket about 200 or maybe 1,000 times a day! The sound system is terrible and all I can here is the hook, "He called me babe" about at least 100 times and it sounds so fucking stupid I want to run out of the store screaming. But now that I've heard the whole song and all the lyrics clearly, it is still irritating. But now I can ignore it.

  • @Ebonius u have truly missed it

  • @moonabes maybe he needs coupons, this song is the jam

  • @moonabes

I know, right? And I so truly don't give a shit.

  • coollll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • man..i like this music its smooth =} ;)

  • Exactly so origins1965. Heard this in a shop some time last year and rushed home to find out what it was; bought the album and all, but this one still really melts the backbone. And they didn't pinch it and pretend it was all theirs, the Candi and Patsy versions are great, O. Eskimo have just made a gorgeous intervention.

  • @estategel

I Agree, the first time I heard it...it was like WOW...when you hear a new song on the radio in your car, you usually expect it to be an established artist...thought it was James Blunt or Maroon 5 at first.....it melts your backbone, melts your heart of anyone who has been at the busted end of a relationship. It taps into the passion out of any of us who can relate to the well told story this song expresses so incredibly well

  • awesome!

  • This is well done and a beautiful song, but these guys didn't write the melody or anything else. This song was originally done by Patsy Cline and later by Candi Stanton. It is an excellent cover, but the song is called "He Called Me Baby". People need to give credit when the ripoff is this obvious. They still did a great job with it, but it's a cover with a few word changes. virtually nothing original. A good cover though. Changing the name to One Eskimo and acting like it's their genius is sad.

  • @MathuslaJones One EskimO is the name of the Band. I agree that it is a great cover though

  • @MathuslaJones One EskimO is the name of the Band. I agree that it is a great cover though

  • they should credit the lovely candi staton for the soulful "he called me babeeeeee"

  • I guess thats all it takes..."he called me babe", "Hurts beyond hurt."

  • My new favorite. Heard on radio, I am glad I found it here.

  • this song puts me to tears every time i listen to it

  • J'adore trop c'est la musique de Bones à la fin de la saison 5 épisode 22 !!!

    I love !!! ^_^

  • Wow this song is incredible... I love the sampling of the woman's voice.

  • Does my love, ever touch you?

Does my love, ever reach youu

    It's never enough..

    why is it never enough?

  • I listen to this song about 10 times a week! I love the cajon and trambourine. Awesome timing too on the vocals, guitar and percussion.

  • I heard this song for the first time on a road trip. Once I got home I only found the origional versions of it. (Patsy Cline and Candi Staton). I knew it was Candi's voice on the track once I found her. I kept looking for He called me baby as the title and could never find it with male vocals. Finally I found it. I Absolutely love this song. Candi's voice is so haunting. TY One Eskimo 4 introducing us to a great blues singer from the past.

  • love this song so awesome

  • I've been looking for more than two months for this song.Great song,so original.Breez of fresh air in today's music.Great job guys

  • This song rally pulls at your heart strings. It tells a vivid story, starts out gentle, builds up, then back to gentle, sexy, sad, passionate, a real seducing song that ropes you up and pulls you in with it's tight embracing message of heartache and seduction. I cannot get enough of this incredible intense song. I absolutely love this song, it seduces me every time I hear it. Mission Accomplished!

  • @origins1965 In light of recent events in my life, this song definitely strikes a nerve.

    Intense!!!!

  • WOW that was deep.

  • @origins1965 me, too!

  • @origins1965 I cannot get enough of it either. From the first moment I heard it on the radio I thought it had to be an intant hit. I love it.

  • @origins1965

I just love your commet. Absolutely agree. Mission? yes. Accomplished and what graphic words you write.

  • @jesting15

  • my dad is in love with this song.

  • I totally agree with origins1965 comments - this is a fabulous update and it is haunting - I love it!!!!

  • @mmw3350

it is rare when I like a remake better than the original or any of the other versions. One Eskimo proved me wrong and did a fantastic job on this song about infidelity...like you say it's haunting, sexy, mesmerizing, his voice sings right through your heart.......loved this song the instant I heard it.

    Bravo to One Eskimo!!!

  • @USMCLoneWolf1

you do know that this is NOT a remake or a cover... right?? It's a completely different song. They got the rights to use the guitar from Candi's song, and took her chorus and put it in theirs. Other than that, it's their own song entirely. And it's simply wonderful.

  • @SchizophrenicPencil If they sampled from someone else's song than it is not "entirely" theirs. Get a grip.

  • @SchizophrenicPencil

Candi's remake of this song hit the charts in 1971....the chorus of her "He Called Me Baby..........all night long" was over dubbed and sampled into

One Eskimo's superb version of this song. If you want to hear the original, it goes back to 1963 by Patsy Cline. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I must say One Eskimo were very sincere in this haunting mysterious vocals with the best arrangement recording of this great song.

  • @USMCLoneWolf1 Yes I agree this is a supurb version. I knew the voice was Candi's & I remember Patsy's original country hit.

  • Who sang the female part?

  • good song

  • Love this song! Love Bones too :D

  • Kristeon Leontiou......top singer.....enough said!!!!

  • Blues sound -cool! But a slightly different blues sound-nice change-I like it !

    Mariscosjj

This song tells a story of heartbreak, the sound is mesmerizing and haunting, The lead singer Kristian Leontiou has a wide range in his emotionally charged voice that grabs you up & pulls you in. • @khristineremington yeah i was there, they seriously blew me away

  • Holy Christ this song is amazing!!!!

  • i love his voice.u can hear the hurt when he sings

  • These young men are so inspiring. This is such depth, I haven't seen in a very long time, if ever, really. They ate so young, wise, and have such raw talent. I can't hear them without crying. Clearly indigos. Today's young people are so promising, they give me a lot of hope.

  • OMFG great, no, AWESOME song. I love it!!!! Someone else commented, "haunting" is exactly right. I heard this on the radio, randomly..so glad I did. AWESOME lyrics and his voice...very, very great.

  • Comment removed

  • If you LOVE this song, PLEASE buy the whole album. #1, you won't be sorry--all the songs are wonderful. #2, they're making almost NO money at all on Kandi after paying Harlan Howard's estate, et. al., for the rights to use the "Baby, baby" chords and chorus. Show them the love by showing them the money!

  • @MaryKnitsHatsWthEars

I checked out the CD on amazon, heard clips, I like the entire thing.

I will be seeing them live at the Del Mar Fair next friday July 2nd. They are receiving lots of regular radio airplay here on San Diego & L.A. radio stations. The pain is so raw in this song, like a cry for help......you never hear a song with this kind of depth on Top 40 radio these days. Very unique and innovative with a built in mesmerizing melody. This is a GREAT song!

  • @MaryKnitsHatsWthEars I do "LOVE" this song! Sorry to hear the band won't make a huge profit from such a great song! You are right the entire CD is "wonderful"! I checked out Amazon and they were sold out. I did find One Eskimo on line only at Target and it was the BEST purchase I have ever made. There are so many great songs, it's hard to pick a favorite. These guys are great and I wish them much success touring the USA. Mary, did you make the lead singers hat with ears? Good luck to you:)

  • my mom wheen i waz a baby she sang this to me

  • "..and it hurts beyond hurt..." excellent line

  • This song is FABULOUS! Many thanks to the amazing show Bones for putting it in that final scene. It's a great show, and a great song.

  • great mix, thanks!

  • I heard this on the radio while I was driving around-to say that it stands out from all the other stuff on the airwaves is a huge understatement. Best of all, the dj identified the song-I never would have guessed the name. Fantastic song...

  • Love, love, love this song. Mmmm, baby, baby, baby!

  • nice

  • Beautiful...

  • hauntingly beautiful...awesome.
