Since Anna wouldn't view Robin's body (as of today's ep.), my money is on the fact that Faison has her kidnapped somewhere! Wouldn't it be cool if he sprang Grant Putnam from jail and the two are working together???
I would love to see Faison come back now that everyone knows the SCoripos are alive. I think it would be a great story if he successfully kidnapped Robin and Jason had to go after her and he got caught too? They were trapped together and Faison made all of PC believe he killed them, i keep thinking how everyone would react to that news?
I blame both Guza and Phelps. There have been times in the past when I thought Guza was great. But I don't think he needs to be the headwriter. At least not for GH. If you contained him to certain pple or types of stories, he'd probably do much better.
Phelps simply has no idea what made GH so must-see, & no idea how to get it back there. I have yet to figure out how she & Guza 4 that matter still have thier jobs.
Okay, I'll admit that I like those characters, but I don't find them as entertaining as say, Luke or Helena. They say and do whatever they want and, for the most part, get away with it.
That could never happen in the real world. And shouldn't TV, especially a soap, deliver some sort of escape from the deary real world.
This is some really good insight. I didn't even know half of this. I never could understand why Guza brought back and built up the Cassadines only to destroy them 10 years later. Not only them but the Quartermaines as well. They're wiping out all the old fan favorites and you'd think it'd be suicide for teh show. Then they bring on replacement families such as the Zacharras. (Not saying anything bad about the Z's, but they are like a poor man's Cassadines.)
Luke says what is the one thing he would give anything for and die for...his son. Funny how Guza and Phelps had to destroy that.
Thanks for showing what really happened. Oh and since they were fighting when the boat blew up, my money is on Faison still being out there whenever he gets a better storyline. LOL Anders Hove left early because the s/l was so bad. Imagine that.
Oh wow, I had understood that Anders Hove left early due to missing his family back in...well I forget the country they live in now. I didn't know it had anything to do with the writing of the show. IMO the writing was much better then than it is now...and it's the same damn writers...go figure! lol
Thanks for that info. Way to screw up another one Guza.
That's why I blame Phelps for a lot of it. Guza wrote a lot of the original Cassadine returns and it was much tighter.
I think I read that bit about Anders Hove on his site. He did miss his family, but he'd agreed to a whole year. He didn't like the story so he told them he wanted out early. But, you are right, the writing was much better then than it is now!
As much as I and many others like to blame Guza, I think a lot of the problems stem from Phelps, as you said. When did she come on board? Seems like it was the very late 90's but I'm not too sure. I really liked the writing during this time and when McTavish took over and did Endgame. I know many disagree with me about McTavish, but I thought GH was "out there", but still semi-believable. Thanks again for that info! I'm always curious about Anders Hove and other veteran actors/stories.
I'm really pulling for a major house cleaning at ABC Daytime that will put a new command on GH. Otherwise, I don't think the show has 10 more years to live...but that's just my opinion.
Phelps began in 2001. At the time, Guza was gone. He left in Dec. 2000 and came in 2002 to be co headwriter with Charles Pratt Jr (of Melrose Place writing team). The rumor is that Guza was reluctant to come back and work with Jill. Who knows if there is any truth to that. The senseless serial killer storylines and killing of popular vets is a typical Phelps tactic (especially ethical or good characters). She did that on Guiding Light and Another World while she was there.
Guza came on during 1996, left and came back in Dec 1997 until 2000. So much of the Cassadine time was his.
Ultimately, the entire blame lies with Disney. They own ABC and considering how they've lost ratings on all their hit shows, it appears Iger needs a lesson on how to mind his store. All of these people have a boss and Iger is it. He needs to wake up.
As for out there, it isn't as out there as the Ice Princess and that was the most popular s/l on daytime television history.
What I don't understand is that GH execs, according to interviews, think they're giving the GH viewers what they want with these current storylines and keep going on about all the positive feedback they're getting from fans. I'd like to know what fans they're talking about because I'm a member of several of the larger GH message boards and I rarely hear of any fans who are particularly thrilled with the show.
that's just corporate speak (i.e., signifying nothing). i remember calling the comment line once to complain. i mentioned i'd been watching the show for decades and they were ruining it IMO and it was a shame. they sent me a postcard (form letter) thanking me for my positive feedback since i'd been watching and enjoying the show for so long. no mention of my complaint. corporate entities don't care what 'the little people' have to say. they just do what they want.

Why would you want ethical characters on a soap opera? I mean, that's just boring.
