  • I LOVE YOU AMERICA. I LOVE ALL OF THOSE WHO FIGHT FOR FREEDOM. GOD BLESS YOU.

  • I love this song. It remembers me my bad story: my parents' divorce. They often listened 'My city of ruins'. When I listen this, I feel sad.

  • Thank You, Ten Years now and it hurts so bad!

  • fun fact, this song was actually written before 9/11 about what's happened to asbury park. timing just happened to coincide with the 9/11 attacks. Personally I think it's better it's attached to 9/11. the last "come on rise up" gets me everytime

  • how simply beautiful and heart breaking, while offering hope through prayer. Only Bruce could pull this off with such aplomb and great work on the montage.

  • Extremely well done montage. Thanks to DSM for this loving tribute.

  • POWERFUL.... touches the soul, God Bless those we have lost, and give strength

to all their family and friends ~ that must endure without them... never forgotten,

always in our Hearts... thanks for Bruce's song & touching images... M xox

  • I was convinced that this song was made after the september 11..Now I saw that the song is from the year 2000. Pretty scary...

  • GOD BLESS YOU!!!

    ANGELO from ROME

  • does anyone have a link to the album version of this song?

  • this is about to get heartfelt...

I saw this video in humanities class and i almost cried. The sad pictures and forlorn music was so depressing! My hand was on my heart the whole time. Afterwards, the teacher told us that the people who helped clean up in the aftermath are dead and dying because of the chemicals in the wreckage. That made me feel so sorry for them. Next, we watched a short clip. A volunteer (in the hospital at the time) saying that thught he almost died, he would volunteer agin

  • @hinwer just to help the people less fortunate then him. If you believe in his message, give the original message thumbs up.

  • what about the irak city's?

  • @thecureisfrank it's spelled with a Q, not a K. and there are plenty of tributes out there about some f*cked up sh*t that went down there, look up surfin bird iraq.

  • @thecureisfrank What the fuck about it?

  • @melfaery them city are totally ruined, wtf with this song lol.

  • this song can relate to any disaster. 9/11, NJ, Japan, and my city, Christchurch, New Zealand<3

  • Tell me how do I begin again?

  • The song is a really an ode to NJ & was written before 9/11, but it might as well qualify now

  • 3 people are Al Qaeda

  • simply amazing, my love goes out to Japan and our cicty Christchurch, Thankyou for everyone who is here helping <3

  • This song is now the song of our city. Last week, on the 22 Feb at 12.51, our city was rocked by a 6.3 aftershock....and it was deadly. We have lost 150 souls thus far and the number is still raising. We had a 7.1 quake last Sept and thousands of aftershocks with no loss of life.....we weren't so lucky this time round.......so my city IS in ruins.....to my fellow Cantab's... I grieve alongside you. And I just want to say to you Americans, your guys are over here helping, and I thank you.

  • @Bramble1976 Same here, a cantabrian<3 we can do it.

  • I just DON'T understand to this day. I feel like it's happening all over when I see or hear songs like this, just pray for all are people, those lost and families who lost a loved one..

  • How can you dislike this.. its soo sad :'(

  • 3 fools need to get punched in the face for disliking this

  • I'm from Texas but my husband grew up in Brooklyn. We will have no Ground Zero Mosque & no Sharia law here. Never!!

  • @WhiteDogTherapy omg ik why dont people just get it. its disgusting people would even begin to allow this to happen

  • @SonOfAmerica112 Thats the Obama administration for ya

  • My husband was there... He survived... But how many didn't??? I love the U S A !!! My friends and family are in war over seas ! Pleas give me some words of wisdom b4 i myself, become Ms Hate 101!!!

  • @MsHate101 Whoever told you it was a sin to hate those who hate you is your enemy.

  • If someone can get me the MP3 of this song that'd be great. I have one but it doesn't have him talking in the beginning or the harmonica. If you find it message me at estsniper@yahoo.com.

  • so touching, so strong...

  • Cuando todos corrían del peligro y de la muerte, ellos la encararon de frente. A todos los Policías y Bomberos del NYD. Héroes caídos que entregaron su existencia por preservar y proteger la vida de los demás. Nunca los olvidaremos. 9/11/

  • I live in Canada. On this day i was sick from school watching it on TV. I felt the love, hope and courage of the firefighters that went up into the towers to save.

    RIP Eric Martin NS Canada

  • You're fucking stupid. If it was a controlled demolition why did planes fly into 2 buildings and kill thousands of innocent people.

    Never forget the lives lost.

  • Seriously, right? Why do some people have such a hard time getting into their thick heads that not everything is a conspiracy!

  • I know its like they just like to argue.

  • I remember this day... I was in 5th grade...

  • Your an idiot.

  • The building randomly collapses. We're not saying anything other than that it is suspicious and that people need to take a closer look.

  • unpatriotic asshole, burning fuel has a habit of making things break

  • bruce sounds awesome and the pictures really show what this song is about i am just blown away

  • rest easy brother countrymen....we did all we could to find the living while giving respect to the dead layed among the steel.

fdny,,,you are releived,,,union ironworkers will take it from here,,,bury your fallen...

    recovery by hand,,recovery with respect

ironworker ground zero.. forever remembered...every time i close my eyes,,

  • man my friends uncle was onone of thous planes

  • "The sweet bells of mercy drift through the evening trees/

young men on the corner like scattered leaves"

  • beautiful....although, Bruce wrote this song well before....about Asbury Park, NJ....when it was biting the dust....released it on "The Rising"...

  • A beautiful song, Bruce is a legend.

  • god loves us all but do u love ur fellow man? can u? we need to sort our own filth out my friend. u speak of God as a mother who runs after us cleaning up after us. i dont think he meant it to be that way

  • One Word,

    Why?

  • god has nothing to do with how we treat each other as president kennedy said these are man made problems and can only be solved by man god sat around and watched 6 million jews b slaughtered if you believe in god

  • if god stepped in every time something went wrong would humans learn via the hard way how to treat each other properly? it took us years to realize the horrors of racism, slavery, discrimination and we r a better world having experienced and gone thru it. man needs to learn to truly love his fellow man, we still haven't gotten it yet no matter how many great leaders like gandhi and MLK rise, inspire and die.

  • not sure why i insist on listening to this it always make me cry and the video

well done bruce u can do no wrong

    jane

  • Tötet die Scheiß Terroristen!

  • bruce is simply the best artist ever!!!

  • I've seen a lot of bad things in life, but 9/11 was the most horrible day. It changed my life forever and I refuse to accept that there are people in this world who could ever do this to each other.

  • This is one of my favorite tributes.

I was in 7th grade when it happened. I remember being in art class, I saw the second plane hit the building... then the TV was turned off. My teacher stepped out of the class for about 10 minutes, and returned crying. When I got home, I saw the television and my eyes were running with tears. The next morning the entire neighborhood was covered in red, white, and blue. God Bless America!

  • It's mportant to listen to the end of the song. We have to pray. No man will ever take away the evil in this world, only god can do tihis. We have to forgive and stay up again.

Es ist wichtig auf das Ende des Liedes zu hören. Wir müssen beten. Kein Mensch wird jemals das Böse aus dieser Erde nehmen können. Nur Gott kann dies tun. Wir müssen vergeben und wieder neu anfangen

  • this is what the song was written about

and i think it has a wonderful message saying we must rise up and react but i don;t think he meant the way Bush did

  • To make it worse...the Democrats are trying to reach out to soldiers and a few of them got to Congress..But to my veteran brothers..at least the Conservatives paid us lip service..For many many years the Dems could have cared less about the ones who fought for America.

  • boo hoo, next time dont believe what the recruiter says

    QQ some more

  • We never heard crap about Iran and nukes until we took out Saddaam. As evil as it sounds at least Iran and Iraq kept each other in "check". And this talking head shit about fighting Al-Qaeda in Iraq now is horseshit. Osama's people would have made thier way to Afghanistan. Saddaam was a westernized muslim..Osama thought he was an infidel.

  • While me and my brothers are fighting, being mentally and physically injured,Illegal aliens are given the "keys to the city" courtesy of George"Who Would Jesus Bomb" Bush and traitors on both sides of the aisle. All you gotta be is a wetback and shit your baby out on American soil and u qualify...BUt DON"T be an damaged American soldier because you may end up in the streets. I will never defend my country again..But I will protect the few things that are mine.

  • As an Iraqi Freedom veteran and a soldier serving when 9-11 happened I remember how unified the country was. I pay the conspiracy idiots no mind at all. But it was clear that Iraq was never a real threat after 1991. Even Desert Fox in 1998 under Clinton was a joke. The Democrat options were worse then the Republican option in 2004. But we should have never been there in Iraq

  • Just A Beautiful Slideshow, brought me to tears. God Bless America.

  • Brotherhood, Strength and Fortitude in the angry night

  • Amazing, chilling. But it's amazing how the American people were brought together in such tragedy.

  • The first time I heard this is when I knew for sure we were going to climb out of the rubble here in New York and be able to go on through the tears and indescribable pain. Thanks Bruce, for everything.

  • Never forget my 343 brothers who never came home that day

  • I pray for the faith, Lord. Pray for the strength, Lord. Through 9-11, through Katrina, through Iraq, through it all, we still maintain our faith. Sometimes it's all we have left.

  • Very Moving, the song and the slides also...tx

  • hi how did you put the music to the slideshow?

  • im scottish and im still haunted my that day.

THROUGH JESUS - THERES ALWAYS HOPE. ALWAYS

  • moved to tears...

  • Thankx for posting. I still can't forget the moment when I stepped into the hotel lobby in Turkey and I saw that TV was on. I still see it before my eyes. The picture of the moment when everything good went into the hell.

  • superb, felt all the way back in england....

  • Moving, inspirational, a fitting tribute. Doesn't seem that long ago.

  • Tx for posting this.

    God bless.

    Greets from Italy

  • Tremendously beautiful. Really nice tribute. I cried watching it. My brother worked for Cantor Fitzgerald up until a few months before 9/11. Thank God he wasn't there, but way too many of his friends were. If you can send this video to me, I'd really be appreciative.
