  • ¡¡¡super buen tema,,lo disfrute en su plenitud,,y creo que artistas de esta clase

no deberían dejar de cantar nunca !!!!

  • Gary, Superb as always....by thw way I'm Bob's bro in law......it takes us all back to the 80's mate......a revival would be well appreciated mate..keep it up..!

  • Wonderfull song! Great cover for this song originally recorded by The ISLEY BROTHERS, in 1976.

  • suberb song. think one of the band members died. RIP

  • The song is brilliant, sadly people are people, greed is greed...you are only fit to be judged by your peers. It's not left of right political parties that effect change it's MONEY that influences! ....that's what all wars are really about!

  • stupid song but very happy feelings you get it i give it a 8,5

  • originaly released in 1976, since then, we've had Ethiopia, Falklands, Bosnia, Rwanda, 9/11, iraq, 7/7 afghanistan, Guess nobodys listening__ Shame!!

  • H ha The irony of it all : UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP SHARING A VIDEO CONCERNING THE DISMANTLING OF CAPATALISM AND GLOBAL EQUALITY-FUCKING SCUM

  • we have to sing this at school, its soo boring ;[

  • You'll gain a new appreciation for it, when you are old enough to realise what it's about I'm sure.

  • i highly doubt that.

  • In that case, feel free to write back to me in about ten years from now, and we can discuss it then. Good luck with the school show.

  • you'll gain a new appreciation for it when you are no longer forced to like it or sing it.

  • I don't think this comment deserves any thumbs down.....look closely at the "have to"..... funny how people rarely enjoy what they are forced to do.

  • True, but the words "have to" and "forced" are hardly the appropriate terms to be used when referring to a school performance now are they? It's not as if she's in North Korea or some other forsaken hell on earth, she's in the UK where I'm sure you can choose whether you take part in a school performance or not. But you are right, when something is forced down our throats it's probably quite normal to develop some level of averseness towards it.

  • what a nice tune ... 5/5

  • i love this song, my best one. stupidly this world is run by pro right wing materialic racist rich zionists and buissness corps and enslave its workers that get more hours and such tiny wages e.g. Indian child labour, what the fuck!!! and they say its not slavery because they get paid BULLSHIT!!

The Almahdi and Jesus will spread wealth, justice and peace across the globe one day, and for the greedy rich!! dont say i never warned ya mate! awight!!

  • Power Station's version is awesome too, the Christians are great.

  • one of the most awesome videos ever!!

  • Merci pout le morceau

  • Hello "THE LIFE IS A FIGHT"

    TECKMASSE

  • How loving and compassionate are the factory farms of you? only an evil soul would do to animals- God's creatures- what you all do to them.

too quick to ask God for compassion yet uncapable of giving the same to animals

damn your factory farms and slaughterhouses, how you ignore their cries of horror, too selfish to see it. SELFISHNESS dominates your heart.

    hypocrets

u think loving God is going to church and memorizing the bible?

  • I was born in the wrong fecking decade. Great sound!

  • which decade did you wish to be born in?

  • this soul sound pretty good but I prefer the original version by the Isley Brothers.

  • im not sure but i think youll find the christians wrote this song so this must be the original

  • the Isley Brothers performed Harvet For the World in the 70's, and written by the lead vocalist Ronal Isley.

  • Yeah...done as a Gospel, not a Socialist song then.

The Isley's had a biblical interest, the Christians had a Marxist one, ironically.

  • You do not know anything about music, especially dealing with different genre. The Isley Brothers original version does not have a ounce of gospel. Also, their song was inspired by the injustices African Americans and others were going through during there time, and remnants remain to this day. For your info there were many socially conscious Afr. Amer. groups during the 70's such as The Ojays, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Marvin Gaye, Curis Mayfield just to name a few.

  • I'm a musician. Just because someone disagrees with you, it doesn't make them illiterate.

And you don't own that period of time, either -- for your private interpretation.

That was written as a Gospel song. It's obvious. Please set your socialism aside when you listen, fella.

See here: "Originally raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, the original group were the sons of O'Kelly Isley, Sr., being: O'Kelly Jr., Rudy, Ronnie and Vernon Isley originally sang nothing but gospel music starting in 1954. "

  • Of course your are a musician, I believe you lol. Please stop using Google for your information. Like I say before "you do not know anything about music", get over it and stop making a issue out of something simple, fella. Gosple music, what a joke! this song does not have a ounce of gosple inspiration. Socialism, I sense some resentment.

  • An internet-based moron has detected from several thousand miles away via a single statement that I made that I am neither a musician, nor no anything about the topic? Remarkable! Maybe you can pull a rabbit out of your alimentary canal for your next trick?!!

Pal, please give the whole of YouTube a break, here. There is only one Marxist, illiterate, know-it-all messiah allowed at a time, and he's sitting in the White House completely befuddled right now.

  • WOW! your insults indicates that you are a fearful typical individual, that is afraid of change.Conjure up more of your insults because I find them quite entertaining.Take care and may God be with you, "My friend".

  • 1983CHAMPS I have never heard Ronald Isley do a vocal that was not drenched in gospel. gospel is the backbone of true soul/r&b. Harvest was a bit more pop but gospel influence very strong. Those people you listed also did socially conscious music with a gospel fervor to it.

  • Are there people who do not know that gospel was the precursor to soul and R & B?

  • Its amazing what people do not know today! How many know that the gospel sound was pioneered by a blues pianist who played for Ma Rainey? He combined blues, jazz & spirituals to create this rocking, rollicking sound. Georgia Tom was this pioneer who later became known as Professor Thomas Dorsey, writer of sacred songs like "Precious Lord" & "Peace In the Valley" and also sacred profane classics like "Its Tight Like That". So they all meet at the crossroads.

  • Well the socialists take some themes from the Bible but they try to apply them by State force. Bad idea.

  • and when you try to sound intellectual...you are full of shit

  • listen dickhead, all the proceeds from this single went to charity so u can fuck off there skid

  • I used to love this song when I was a kid, though the video gave me nightmares! Ah, life was so simple then...

  • its my fav song so far..means a lot to me..relates a lot to my beliefs aswell

  • here here my friend. i cant agree with you more. makes you think about the things you take for granted.

  • yeah i like that part of how this video shows how the rich beorgusie exploit the working class proletariens which still continues today..the wester organisation such as GAP or primemark which exploit the fuck out of the workers..then u get war mongers like bush/blair/israel violating UN peace resoultions etc

  • What a great group! who made some great records of the time!

  • Everybody should see this video. I think the bit at 2.28 is one of the most telling- good ordinary people become transformed into warmongers way too often in this day and age.

  • Awsome song by an awesome band! Ive seen them 3 times live and they were worth every penny. Met them in person and they were really nice guys too!

  • is this the sky pixie section?

  • what an amazing song..

  • checkout original version song by the isley brothers

  • pray4me-Jesus told me persecution is him trying to make you loose your salvation, pray for me, Holy Ghost baptizm feels like Body your perfect size coming in, electricity caressing penus, spiking, hair loss, itching in scalp, face bags and sags cause muscles tithen at instant you wink, turn, head, in vision Jesus came down and pointed like lighted needle thru heart, felt hole, all desire to live for Jesus drained out, this is teasing by God to persecute, gum desease, dreams of family in hell

  • LMAO ...

  • Are the christians actually christians?

  • last I've heard they're in training camps in Afghanistan

  • Lol !

  • The black members of the band are biological brothers. Their last name is Christian. The white guy has the last name of Priestman.

They are called The Christians because of their family name, not any religious reasons. Fortunately the UK is not obsessed with religion.

  • a very good quesiton...are the christians actually christians....always wondered about that one!

  • Fantastic song, graphics, performance and posting -Thanks mate !

  • the isley brothers did it first

  • great scoucers

  • paul carricks version is animalistic give it a go!

  • An immense song which transgresses all genres for me. It says it all........

  • An absolute classic. Who says cover versions are not as good as the original? Superb video too - very emotional.

  • wonderful video!!!!!!!thank you for sharing!!!!!!!!well done!!!!!

  • One of my favourites of all time - like Rare Bird's Sympathy - highlighting the injustices of greed. I'm an Oxfam volunteer after being severly disabled in an accident. I'm glad some of you recognise that people like us make a difference. I tell customers who buy something that for every 50p they've spent, one person in Africa eats for a week. If you're that one, it's the difference between life & death. Nuff said..

  • you prikkkkkkk

  • As David said in the movie SHINE :It's a mystery,it's a mystery why people comment on things they chose to watch.:-))I've seen some stupid videos on youtube but somehow I don't have an inspiriation to write negativ comments.I know it was my mistake, but than again some people were raised differently, while I raised myself.:-)Love this song!!Thank You!!!

  • Great 80s classic's Up to 8 "Now,, compilations of various artists

    in my playlist, 4 anyone

who wants 2 watch excellent music video's

  • Would somebody tell me if this song was the official anthem of the Olymipcs Games in Seoul 1988?

  • not sure bout that but i do think it was a charity song for africa matbe wrong

  • I think the official anthem of the Olympics in Seoul was called Hand in Hand so no , this wasnt the anthem but it was still a great song !

  • The Christians did a good job on this Isley Bros tune.

The world changes when YOU change.

  • Yes, bang on, thank you.

  • Can someone please tell me when the Christians are next performing live ?. Any info on where we can see them would be great !! Thanks Mark & Brittany (she's only 10 !).

  • so why do you waste time watching it, i sure dont need to see your nasty comments, find some garbage to watch to get your rocks off on

  • As most gay guys like yourself would enjoy...

  • how old is this video? 15 years, maybe more???

    nothing has changed.

  • sorry to see that you feel that way, if you could change something what would it be? Maybe these messages will help you see things in a different light. The glass is half full.

Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. Confucius

If you are going through hell, keep going. Winston Churchill

We must be the change we wish to see. Gandhi

  • sorry, but I don't think GM is in the same class as Confucius, Churchill nor Gandhi, nice try.

  • The video was created by four leading animation companies, including Aardman Animations of Wallace and Gromit fame. The video won several awards, and the single reached number 8 in the UK charts.

  • that is my favourite video of all time, although i slightly prefer the christians vid.

We should all be ashamed that 30 yrs after the isley brothers song, nothing has changed

  • "Nothing has changed"? This is not an attitude that supports the many years of resources that thousands of volunteers and governmental and NGOs have put into this. These volunteers are making a real difference as are small contributions by ordinary folks.

Is time that their work done under difficult circumstances was celebrated by recognising the difference they are making in impoverished communities worldwide - not denigrated by sit-at-home westerners saying "nothing has changed".

  • Great song, great Video. Remember seeing the making of the video on Going Live in 1988. Sad not a lot has changed in the world.

  • amazing.

  • great video ,prob inspired pearls jams "do the evolution " video

  • Very enlightened vid my friends,Thank you!The harvest is coming we just need more people willing to work the feilds.Blessings!

  • What a really beautiful comment to make.

  • great song love it takes me back years

  • there will be a harvet fo the world when everone goes vegan !

  • No there won't.

  • even then drought = no veg

  • i forgot this existed!! great song and video

  • even longer than that 99, another 10 years since the Isley Brothers did it. It's just disgraceful that nothing has really changed in all that time. The best song of all time for me, people need to listen to the lyrics and give a damn!!

  • Nearly twenty Years old and, wow, still a great song!

This is for those who think that this is no longer a current problem..!

  • good video
