1983CHAMPS I have never heard Ronald Isley do a vocal that was not drenched in gospel. gospel is the backbone of true soul/r&b. Harvest was a bit more pop but gospel influence very strong. Those people you listed also did socially conscious music with a gospel fervor to it.
