  • I love this episode. It´s sooooo great!

  • WOW! talk about a special delivery!

1 word for you Val would be: ... Special :)

P.S. If you did drink, I could not imagine how crazeh you would be

  • haha very nice painting i think sometimes when we call people things like "costume girl" its not only because we dont see their other sides, but becaused we forget their name, and so we name them after their "side" that appears most clearly to us. It is like a story I heard, about a man who taught his sons you can not judge a tree by one season (u can look it up on google) and he said how a tree has different seasons and you have to look at all of them, if you want to get to know the tree :)

  • Valentina, please dont eat anymore of those... ever. I will mail you a fish.

  • i love your vlog, and if i keep seen it i will start loving you

  • the word would be 'complicated'

  • ╔★═╗ ╔╗...... ╔╗ ╔╗★

    ╚╗ ╔╝║║★═╦╦╦═╗║★╝╠═╦╦╗

    ╔╝ ╚╗★╚╣║║║║╠╣╚╗╔╣║♂║★

    ╚═☆╝ ╚═╩═╩★╩═╝. ╚╝╚═╩═╝

  • Pasted this too see if it would work.

Wish I knew how it was done in the first place.

    xoxo

  • What a great painting! Beautifully executed and a great topic. Too often we put people into small little categories eventhough it is the last thing that most of us want. I love your videos and your artwork. You have inspired me to delve back into my own stuff. Thanks for that. take care, Mike

  • I love the concept of this painting Val. You never cease to amaze me! ^_^

  • hahahahahah

  • Hey Valentina, I know this is going to sound conceited but one word to describe me is . . . Angelene. When people first meet me, they label whatever they want bc they have a variety. So they jus call me Angelene bc apparently, my name speaks for itself . . . Now, YOURE word would be . . . you guessed it . . . Valentina. I have soo many words to describe you that Valentina is just the overall of it - LOVE your name - very different from other Vals;)

  • wow.... thanks a lot :)

  • Youre Welcome

  • last week you were really hot??? I think this week you are hot too.. and you will be hot next week also... you are in flames girl!

  • Dear Val! I am new to YouTube and just happened to come across your videos yesterday while exploring. Your videos and your art are fantastic! I am definitely a new fan of yours and have showed you off to my whole family. I think you are a genius, extremely talented, unbelievably creative, very cute, strangely addicting, and it just makes people happy to watch you because you are so full of life. I hope to someday be blessed with a grand daughter just like you. God bless!

  • Such a great painting! Love the eyes!

  • Val...I think it's hilarious that you randomly missed both dart shots! You're videos never cease to amaze. Great job! Beautiful paintings too!

  • It's amazing that you respond so much to all these comments. You are one of my favorite youtubers for that! Keep up the good work! :)

  • Hello Val! Your video's are brilliant. I love all of them, brilliant editing. I'm doing a series of video's with my photography. Only just finished the intro though =( make sure to check my page out soon!

    Bye!

  • i LOVE all the music in your videos. you are great

  • hey val,

ive sent you a message on the pms..

  • D@#%!T CHOPPER!!!

  • Can I be your male slave?

  • val you need to get on myspace! remove the spam comments and update your friends list :)

  • youre a wonderful artist val and i always enjoy your videos very much. keep up the good work!

  • thanx & I will try :)

  • One word description of myself... UNBEFUCKINLEAVABLE

  • Just an Xcellent and wonderful tribute TO mattlove1.

    It's just wonderful.

Thanx for turning me on to it. She is lovely.

  • I hope I get one of your paintings someday!!

  • Oh! And I always love watching every episode. :3 Makes me want to get into painting so much . . .

    And little burgers are fun. :D Bwah . . . <3

  • I watched this on Sunday, but forgot to comment. =O

Anyhoo, I love it! :D Was great fun to see you pop out of a box. lol That sounds kind of weird in my head (I'm tired) lol. But yes, loved the painting as well. Always love your paintings.

  • This is one of my favorites

  • love this painting, i feel like i can really relate to it.

  • How to cut down on your work load.

Since not all subscribers watch every week or even take the time to comment, hence the unclaimed paintings, how about just including the names of those who leave comments.

Less to shuffle and keep up with, more chance for your most devoted "Val addicts" to win *_~

  • This is really a great suggestion. I like it.

  • same here. i'm microsoft/windows challenged, i don't get any of the programs. viva la macintosh! :)

  • Holy.... big box or very flexible o0

  • how did you get in thaT box????are you that flexible..I edit (FCP 4/5) too lets work together

  • i keep hoping you dart me too! Thanks for continuing to share.

  • valentina...i have no idea why people aren't claiming their paintings...but i'm gonna cross my fingers and hope that your dart lands on my name next. thanks for another great episode =D

  • VAlentina,, I want one of your Drawings, but I cant afford quality art, Can I work for you as a personal slave massage your feet, make you dinner, for a day,, you name it,,,

  • ur not only an artist but also a philosopher! btw r u Italian?

  • no way.

  • Let me take a wild guess, she might be from either Chile or Peru. :)

  • It's a trick question cause any word you pick, even if its "Superman", the word itself will eventually box you in - no pun intended. Human is probably the best choice one can make because it encompasses the broadest array. :)

  • My word: "verbose"

  • "Last week I was really really REALLY hot..."

well I don't know if I should agree with you because you're right or chide you for your over indulgent vanity....

Either way...you're hotter this week...omg that was cheesy...haha Oh well!! :D:D

  • I dont know if I can sum myself in one word, that was the whole message of the painting though right? That you cant.

I loved the painting though. Every episode the paintings get more and more beautiful.

If you wanted you could just turn the board of names on its side and upside down and stuff until you learn to shuffle.

    Its just a suggestion.

Lovely work as always, you made me want a vegepatti and cheese burger.

    Yes, I am a vegetarian. :P

  • Hey Val, I really enjoy you letting people like me into your life. I really enjoy your videos! What I want to know is at the beginning of this video you had some Spanish/Mexican/Cuban music playing ~ who was it????? I really enjoy that music.

  • Hey Val you just comment me something I found on my email now I can't find it ; ; BTW I'll hit teh subscribe button since i'm the first to add to my profile ;)

  • oh wow "pieces" is a great piece of art!

  • goes to stressed999 :( VALLLLLLLLLLLLLL! IIII LLLLLLOOOOOVVVVEEEE youuuuuuuuuuuu :) (chicken arms)

  • O: what dumb-dumb wouldn't claim the free art that they won at a chance of like 0.0000000004 % X]

  • There's 10 cheeseburgers...

  • ha ha.. I was wondering if anybody noticed :P

  • are you kiddomg? i think everyone noticed. we just stay quiet so that you wouldn't feel bad eating all those burgers by yourself ;p

  • aren't we supposed to be celebrating or something? this is val's 30th video! i'll keep watching till the 1000th video and beyond!

  • ha ha I guess ;)

  • actually, u cheated :p the "me gusta mucho" 3 sec video shouldn't be counted. i don't know what it means!

  • You amaze me. To me, you are "the very interesting, very multi-talented, multi-faceted artist (in the broad sense of the word, not just an 'artist' as a painter but an artist in general!) and person that I know from YouTube"!! he he

  • influencial lol

  • i seriously friken love you val! :)

I like how you changed it up a bit with the new music.

  • I love your authentic and personable nature... I think that's why so many people watch everyweek :)

  • Awesome painting! You hit towards the M's this time! Closer! :o)

  • just give me the paintings so I can start my collection

  • of course that guy had feelings for you. i don't see how he couldn't

  • I love your video, Val! You're a brilliant painter, and good basketball-player. I love the way you express yourself too!

Food is great, so enjoy eating your burgers and cookies! :-D Mmmmmmmm! Cheese burgers, cookies, and milk! Delicious combo, yes? :-)

  • thanx!

cookies and milk can cure almost any sad moment... JK

    but they really help ;)

mmmm for breakfast I'm having this italian sandwich :)

  • Again, another great video! I saw my name on the board!!!!.......Just 2 names from mattlove1....So close, but yet so far :(...lol Oh, well, maybe I'll be lucky next time. All the best.

  • Heh, I saw mine too. Just 4 names up from Matt...

  • Have you got the shuffling sorted out yet?? The only way I can think of is to put the names into Excel (or Calc for us OpenOffice users), then in the next column put random numbers =rand() ... then sort the data according to the random numbers, then export back to a text file... sound easy enough??? If you want, you can send me the file and I will shuffle for you (might just add a few hundred more greenvals in there..hehe...)

  • Not so sure it is quite random. The rand Excel function is quite predictable.

  • I don't care if it's predictable.. I simply want an alternative to having names in alphabetical order. How do yourandomize things in Excell?

  • Accidentally marked your comment as spam, sorry! I had run out of comments on my main account and just pressed the only available hyperlink without looking (which was the spam hyperlink...)

  • I'll describe how you can get a randomized list in Excel. It'll be split up into a couple of entries because of the 500 character limit on YouTube.

  • Reported. Stop spamming Val's video.

  • ArticGhost: Are you serious? Spamming? These are instructions kiddo. It takes a few comments to apply the level of detail that I intended, given Val's not accustomed to Excel. Yes, I could have sent it all in a PM, but then nobody else would know that an explanation was given, and nobody would be able to correct me if I made a mistake.

  • -- 1 --

-- Pick a number greater than the number of your subscribers, say 24000 or whatever.

-- Put all your names in a column, say column "A".

    -- Sort the names alphabetically.

-- You'll end up with a list of names from A1 to A11180 (because you have 11180 subs).

-- In cell B1 enter the following function:

    =INT(RAND()*(24000-1)+1)

    -- This will put a number in B1 between 1 and 24000.

  • -- 2 --

    -- Select cell B1.

-- Now scroll down to the end of the list.

-- Press and hold Shift and then click B11180.

-- You should see all of the cells with numbers are selected.

-- Now press Ctrl-D to fill down (fills each cell B2-B11180 with the function in B1).

-- Each cell next to a name now contains a pseudo-random number between 1 and 24000.

  • -- 3 --

-- Highlight the entire column of random numbers.

    -- Copy.

-- Edit-> Paste Special (We're going to paste into the same column)

-- Choose only "Values" from the list of things you want to paste.

-- Ok, or Apply, or whatever to actually paste (don't have Excel at home, going from memory)

-- This will now change each of these numbers into just plain ol' numbers, no functions.

  • -- 4 --

-- Select all cells on the sheet (the top left corner box of the sheet selects all cells)

-- Now re-sort the sheet according to this random number column.

-- You should now have column of names in random order, and an adjacent column of numbers in order.

-- Delete the column of numbers, you don't need it anymore.

-- You will now have a list of names arranged pretty randomly.

  • So there you go. This should get you a randomized list of names in column A. Now, I'm not sure how exactly to get that into a text file without line breaks, perhaps some other person will be able to describe that process. I don't have Excel at home and can't remember ever having needed to do it.

    Happy randomizing!

  • The randomized numbers repeat. Can't have two of the same integer. Can you confirm?

  • I can't confirm with Excel, I don't have access to it (and won't for the near future). While the rand function is only pseudo-random, I read that there isn't really a discernible pattern, so while numbers can re-appear, the repeats wouldn't fall in the same place twice. This is my current understanding anyway.

  • We could always increase the range and use the length of the person's account name and the row number to produce some alternate result...But overall, that won't produce more real randomness. Well, we could use the current timestamp. Given she won't be running this at the very same time at each attempt, that would allow us to get some sort of randomizing element in there.

  • How about a nested if() based on the last 4 digits of now(). This will "use up" instances of rand() so that the repeats will be randomly staggered. i.e.

    =IF(RIGHT(NOW();4)>6666;INT((RAND()*(24000-1)+1)+RAND()*0+RAND()*0);IF(RIGHT(NOW();4)>3333;INT((RAND()*(24000-1)+1)+RAND()*0);INT(RAND()*(24000-1)+1)))

This says "if the last four digits of now() is > 6666 then use up 2 rands. If it's between 3333 and 6666, use up 1 instance of rand(), and if less than 3333 just process the base function.

  • dashisfast: BTW, I don't have a problem with repeated integers as long as they occur in random locations (or as random as we can get them). If this was absolutely completely random, there is an equal probability of getting 11180 instances of 17 instead of what appears as a random list of numbers.

Please let me know what you think...

  • Yes, perhaps someone could help sort this through, but I am still inclined to think that as long as you use the rand function, repeats of the same integer are going to happen, which will make it invalid. I made a suggestion a couple of days ago using a lottery-like machine idea. Check it out, I think it nails a solution to this important problem.

  • I do like your lottery idea, very simple and clean. In the lottery there is a unique number for everybody (the row number) and only 1 number is drawn. But in my sorting routine, the integers have no real meaning, and repeats occur randomly. It's only to sort the list, not to choose a winner. The dart chooses a winner. As I indicated, you cannot avoid repeat integers in a random number selection. That's not a flaw, it's a feature. If there are no repeats, well, that's not random then.

  • When I wrote "you cannot avoid repeat integers in a random number selection" I meant when generating a list of 'random' numbers you can't avoid repeated integers within a finite range. That's where repeats can occur due to randomness...continued...

  • In my mind repeats only matter if the integer is used to identify something. In your case it's used to identify a user, in my case it's used only to sort a list. With a sufficiently-large range, the number of repeats should be very low. One could always apply a second random column to take care of any repeats in the first column.

  • Yes I agree, if there are no repeats, then that's not random. Up above pinkfrillydress says that with a large range of numbers, the low repeats could be taken cared by doing a second rand function. And yes I see that the point is just to sort the list and not select a winner. I think both of you make a good point. How many steps do you think it could take to do the entire operation, including the fact that the list may increase in size. (continues...)

  • (...continued) Graphically speaking, at least for the video, the darts are cuter than picking out lottery balls. Although both could be argued. The darts do posed some relative danger though. :)

  • dashisfast: I think Val could make raking leaves cute if she wanted to ;> I think that the lottery would be just as entertaining as the darts if Val's doing it. If she continues with the darts, I recommended to her a range of 1000000 rather than 24000 for exactly the reason you mention, repeated integers.

Sorry to be confusing, both the pinkfrillydress and poopslingingmonkey accounts are mine, I just keep running out of comments. I didn't expect to get into a long discussion, but I enjoy it!

  • Fantastic as always, another spectacular piece. Your a legend Val!! xoxo

  • the word for little me is "Spectacular" but , i feel guilty ,i am so sorry ,if i did or said somthing that up set you, i know what it is ,i just to embarrased too tall about it again, please :)

  • What was your name again? Valentine?

Anyhow, I liked ur vid. Um..thx?

  • get braces

  • let's vote... you lose

  • Your paintings make so much sense, I love your videos. :D

  • ahaha i love how you cant close that box :p ill try my best to find how to shuffle sept uv probably already learnt....

  • I was hoping that one of your titties would pop out when you came out of the box.

    Titties

  • Will the paintings finally find a home? Tune in next week, same Val-time, same Val-channel!

  • <3 ur art. Perhaps I could suggest an idea to help on ur randomness. Say u have 25,357 subscribers, u'd write on 10 tiny balls a # from 0 to 9, put them inside da cute bottle from da "Shut it, sweetie!" episode, mix it & drop out a ball. Write da # down, put it back & then repeat da process 5X for each digit. This winning # is then linked to a name from ur subscriber's list. Lastly, since da 1st # is a 2, u'd only include da #s 0, 1 & 2 in da bottle. :)

  • What if we keep getting all zeros? Seriously though it's a good idea.. But maybe the d'Arts system is more open about who wins?

  • Can't be. :) You may get the number 00000, which would equal a name ID. You could get 00001, which would be a second name ID. But to get 00000 more than once in a row, is statistically low.

  • dashisfast: your lottery idea is a good one.

  • Val, I like your work, you have inspired me to pick up a pencil and draw again.

  • That's really really great to hear. Thank you!

  • i really dont understand whats going on haha... but I really liked your artwork... excelent ideas.

  • I would love to win one of your paintings... :) fingers crossed

  • Fluff. That is my word: fluff.

  • omg! ur awesome!!!!!! leave a comment on my page!!!

  • Huuu......... she changed the background music....i didnt even notice till the 3rd time i watched the video lol :")

  • how do u like it?

  • Hi Val the burgers look good. And as always the video is great. If you want to sort names. Maybe the program you use to store names will allow you to sort by date entered.

  • Yah! I'm a new subscriber and i've been waiting all week for a new episode. Very entertaining with great background stories to go along with your art.

  • Yay!! New subscriber! I'm glad you like the videos. Hope to see you around on Sundays!

  • Hi Val,

This is my first post for u. I think you are over here, so I just wanna say hello!!!!

Keep doing what u do ;)

  • Hello back! Thanks for posting a comment and watching my videos! Hope to see you around!

  • Amazing!

  • That's the one word to describe you?

  • Functional

  • I only use it once in a while. Take a deep breath and feel special.

  • This is true, Justinmazing almost never says amazing... only on really amazing vids. Thanks Justin.

  • whoa i'm posting too many comments but i agree with gold3n3y3 aim towards the g's haha

  • Ok... I'll be aiming at GOLD and GRANTS next time!

  • oh and it took me like 15 minutes to realize d'art = dart.. lol

  • ha ha. Don't feel bad. It took me 2 weeks to figure out I can spell it "d'Art"... plus... you have nothing to be ashamed of because it's cheesy anyways.

  • Could you aim more towards the G's?

  • Sure! I'll aim for GOLD next time!

  • val you are the best i love your videos and you!!

  • I was gonna hold back, but I just couldn't help my self.

Are you weareing UNDER WHERE on the outside of your dress?!?!? O_O
