Hey. Im looking for one of those dramatic orchestra things they always use in films and series but it's hard to find. Can someone help me? It reminds me of "O fortuna" and "Requiem for a dream".
I heard that he did the random surprises because many higher ups would commission him, and during their parties and what not people will fall asleep to the calming and nice music. So he made a random jolt to spice things up, wake up a few, and just to make a good time of things. I think it's cute!
Ahhhh that's that satisfying BOOM! (0:36). I love this song! It's funny how Haydn wrote this song for the sole purpose that he was tired of people (pardon the pun) falling asleep during his music!
This is a really great piece to study. It's in C and all the instruments are written in C, so you won't have to bother transposing at least in the Dover score edition-no i do not work for dover

well, haydn was often criticized for playing songs tat made ppl sleep, so he composed this piece to 'wake' the critics:P, and i believe, woke every1 sleeping!
I was in music class a few years back and my roommate was in the class sitting next to me, almost asleep. I saw the FFF and didn't say a word. 1 minute later, surprise!! hahaha!!!
You are right! I wish they would do the complete Haydn symphonies, then I'd know I was getting a good set! I have the complete Mozart by them - brilliant!
when you first listen to it you brace yourself for when you think its gonna happen so you dont jump but its not where you expect it to be, and bam gets you evertime
This song has me on edge

@thelightisahead If you want a consistently good set, try the Hanover Band with Roy Goodman, they are fabulous.
