I did a gig in L.A. with the purple one on monday at the Maui Sugar mill in Tarzana where Kirk Fletcher and Kim Wilson were performing that night and a month ago i used the White one in Sandiego check out my youtube clips under Demac520 tell me what you think................good or bad .

If you compare to Gibson LP, PRS or Gretsh the price is really good. ES series is cheaper than LP standard, maybe due to less mahogany than LP needs. Clapton or Page LP signatures are really expensive. Fender telecaster customs models signatures , strats? (2 piece of wood screwed and grind) to have a filling of old pants, paid 3 times more ? but we like scratch jeans too, right!

I'll say this; for a $3000 guitar it sure isn't set up very well. I have a black one, not a Gem Series, and I had to take it and have it set up. I think Gibson guitars a WAY overated and WAY WAY OVERPRICED. Oh, they are beautiful instruments and sound great, but they're not worth what the consumer has to pay for them.

@TheStratman2617 Amen, I am a luthier by trade. Every new Gibson people bring in the shop is set up so poorly. They don't want the guitar buzz at all, so they put a ton of relief in the neck, and then slot the nut low so the first position feels pretty good. That just ends up as a nightmare for me. Once you put the neck straight, where it needs to be, the nut slots are so low that I've had strings that play at the first fret... So I am forced to make a new nut, or fill the slots and re-cut them.
