This is an anthem! The video is actually very good and gives it a humorous edge which this song really requires (though the lyrics are paradoxically serious). Otherwise, it would have a bit heavy and it wouldn't have been as effective as this video.

I feel exactly the same. They made it spot on. I love those little details about it, the presenter with a french accent messing up the name of the song and as if trying to remember the name of the group, dave sinking into that lip-sync just a second too late, just cool and unpretentious, they did not need any bombast, I find it great. This was when I thought Depeche Mode returned back in form after the difficult phase in their personal lives. This could easily have been one of the songs from 1980s because of the vibe. It was refreshing to hear this in 1997 because I used to find most of the 90s music boring.
