@MrSeronax Who cares, why make that post on a Saab video? Saabs are far more influential and powerful than any hideous Volvo. I'm not against Volvo, all Swedish engineering is good. However, the style, power and looks of Saab is unmatched.
@cnknguyen Er. To test the strength of the 9000's perfected safety systems. They did it with the 99 too. Saabs were designed around the driver's safety, that's why erik carlsson could roll his saab 92 all over the place and still drive it
My friend rolled over with his Saab 90, not wearing a seatbelt, 150 km/h (~90 mph) and did´nt get hurt. I hear his mom think that god was watching over him. I just think it was the Saab.
Yes, this is very impresive, but this is not acctualy a saab platform. Its fiat platform. Even the doors are the same like theese on fiat croma and lancia thema. Suspension is also the same.
Welllll, maybe u should check out the facts about the doors, for example :) these cars are all done on the tipo-4 platform,yes, but the rest is veeeery different. And the platform is designed by an Italian gentleman, but they have been built for sure by Saab, and the materials vary between manufacturers in a lot of ways.
Exactly. There aren't many cars out there that would take that hit so well. Especially that old. Notice how the passenger compartment was completely undeformed? Civics from that era absolutely accordion in high speed impacts.
Exactly my thoughts, but the fact remains that saab isn't that quality any more. By now they're just a glorified Opel. They don't use the same quality chassis and suspension any more. The Saab 900 was the last real saab, and even though they're getting really old now, they're trustily staying on the road. I drive one, and I love it so much more than any BMW! It REALLY REALLY communicates with the driver. You know what it means and when something's about to happen.

This demonstration shows how safe a Saab is, hence selling (thus building) more of them.
So it's not a waste; if anything it increases the numbers of Saabs on the road.
