  • I strongly agree... That was a ignorant statement coming from her!

  • As a transexual woman I always find it interesting how people treat and perceive trans people . Often it show just what misogynistic idea's women (and usually men) have about being female is in the first place .

When a female to male transexual transitions , all they are doing , is adapting the physical (male) element of the person, to live a more honest life, and align the body to what the other elements (consciousness and the mind) to what the individual always was in the first place....

  • ......The consciousness , and mind were always female to begin with , and it's interesting just how much we invest as a society in a one dimensional perception of flesh .

Let's face it, if your not thin enough , or pale enough , or man enough , you are viewed as a failure by society...

As a transfeminist I love Jervae's statement that no woman should strive to be "a lady" (an old skool sexist idea) but for us all to be a person , that is a deep and beautiful truth for anyone , male or female.

  • i fully agree and u know wat lil mama talkin bout act like a lady but when she crashed jayz and alicia keys performance dat wuznt lady like at all so she need to cut all her bullshit out also to me a transgender person changes themselves from one gender to another because they have been feeling like they were that certain gender their whole lives or a mojority of their lives

  • Jervae this is a great post. Keep on posting cause i support you. Real Talk

  • Girl, i so agree with u.

  • As I said before I find it hilarious that Lil' Mama was giving advice on how to act like a lady when she embarrassed herself on the VMAs. Lil' mama take your own advice...better yet just act like you have some damn common sense.

  • I absolutely LOVE your hair!!

    Gorgeous :)

  • As a women, you should demand respect, you should want it and accept nothing less. You cant do that if you are not respecting yourself, or "acting like a lady." Now I love your videos but lets use common sense here, we all know what it means to act like a lady. And maybe because Leyomi isnt a woman she doesnt understand that, but there is a way to present yourself in public especially when you're in the public eye.

And for her to roll her eyes shows extreme immaturity of her, Im not impressed

  • Why do you think a transwoman is not a woman ?

  • She was simply being truthful. She is a transgender woman. She is BECOMING a woman. Little girls still need to LEARN how to be ladies/women. LilMama could have told her that privately but she was just being honest.

  • I actually like Lil Mama. I don't think she said what she said to be disrespectful. The part that stood out to me was when she said Leyomi was acting like a "bird"...I get it! Leyomi really needed to get an attitude check (man or woman). If anyone else in the group acted the way Leyomi did then, I would say the same thing. Leyomi needs to learn how to be more professional before the whole group takes the fall.

  • Man oh man there's plenty I could say about lil mama and how I don't think she should even be a judge...

  • I couldn't believe she went there.. I was shocked

  • ya i saw the show and lil mama was out of line

  • Lil mama will always try to hold that over her head like a storm cloud. That tells you what she thinks of Trans girls. Her job was not to be a holy roller shrink. She should have stayed professional and rated her performance. It's not her business what Leiomy is.

  • speak on it!!!

  • totally agree with you

  • 5*****

  • it was so irrelevant and ignorant that it almost made me laugh...Its so sad people are that insensitive

  • i hope that the glbt activist go after her for that.thats not even kool with ball headed ass. hope that u can pass that comment to the station.she needs to come correct.good luck and thank u for saying something about this

  • Wow i trutly love you and your very powerful with your words!!!!

  • THANK YOU!!!

    *applause*

    lol

  • i agree with you... she does face her truth everyday.. and lil mama had no right to say those things.....

act like a lady.. omg lil mama talks like a dude.. " yo son ...lol"

    yesss yesss be yourself...

  • Thank you for speaking out about this. There have been many instances while watching ABDC and felt like they were spewing some ignorant stuff. 1 judge even had the nerve to say "no homo". I was just like "wow!" What was that all about? Loved your video.

  • Yeah she shouldn't have been commenting on her choice to become a woman, i totally feel like that has nothing to do with dancing. Thats a show about dancing and dancing only. She was completely out of pocket.

  • Good message.

  • i also feel that there may have been alot goin on behind the scenes that day that may have prompted lil mama's "act like a lady"comment! who knows who cares! if leyomi feels disrespected leyomi should step to lil mama and voice it! lil mama's comment seemed a bit harsh for the lil snippet they showed of the rehearsals so who knows what really went down..but yes lil mama's comment did seem a tad bit harsh.but as shane said all that matters is what goes on on stage!

  • i think she attempted to give "constructive crtisicim" but it came out as pure disrespect to me....she started off the comment with "I LIVE FOR V.E." so i dont think her intent was to be rude! it just came across that way

  • i agree

  • i think her comment was fair, lil mama that is.

  • she's always saying something off :-{

  • she gets on my nerve anyway...lately.

  • i feel ya on that!!!!

  • Well said. I agree we shouldn't have to act like anything, we should just be ourselves.

  • yeah i was really taken aback but i thought perhaps they had some type of background convo that i was missing. i dont think lil mama knows what she's talking about half the time (or at least doesnt think beforehand sometimes). and everybody's truth is different and no one should be defining it for you.

  • AGREED! Miss Shad Moss ought to quit with her shady comments.

  • Hi Jervae!! This is Tasha from Facebook...JUst wanted to say hi. Miss u on there:(
