He is very well appreciated here in L.A., he gets good playing time, and the quality of play has improved a lot. And now with new expansion teams coming in, the NBC TV deal, and more fans packing the stadiums. I think it will be great for the man who help kick start the growth of the league to still be here and hopefully win another cup with our beloved Galaxy.

I'm kind of glad he stayed in MLS but is it just me or does anyone else not get the whole Beckhammania thing,he has always been a good player but this legendary status he has in world football baffles me, he is a good crosser and takes a good free kick but after that he is pretty limited,I think compared to Scholes,Gerrard,Lampard etc he trails a fair bit behind,He's a good looking guy but hardly has a dazzling personality to fill an interview.Maybe he is just typical of this celeb culture.

But since Fergie is a stubborn (& sometimes making stupid decision) old man with huge (misplaced) ego, Beckham has to be content with finishing his career in LA...which is a right thing to do for him as he is really appreciated there and has done so much for the game there, mostly improving the level of play. I've seen a few games of galaxy last year, and they really developed a fine long passing style of game.

Beautifull to watch, it's cool to see some unique schools of football getting developed in your country.

And it's fair to say that Henry had a slightly simmilar effect in New York.

His team got this one step faster to the ball after he arrived.

@etetepete He's definitely taught the Galaxy players a lot, just look at a player like Juninho who unfortunately left to return home to play at Sao Paulo, they have like 7 midfielders over there but want Juninho to compete for a starters role because of his experience playing alongside Beckham.

Beckham was arguably league MVP, he has not only filled stadiums but has served as a mentor to younger Galaxy players.

An excellent signing, it's just great news.

@MadMacanian Nope, Grant Wahl basically took Landon's off the record type statements and threw them in a book. Landon immediately apologized to Beckham after it happened, he said he made a big mistake saying those things and was wrong. I seriously doubt Beckham has lingering bad feelings, they have been together for 5 years now and after all this time it's basically water under the bridge.

Mad props to Beckham, he chose to stay and help grow the game in the U.S., we should all be thankful!
