Sounds nice. But "ich" shouldn't sound like "ick". Is it too hard to pronounce for English speaking people? ;-)

@borchie1986 not tryin to sound bicthy, but we generally don't have a noise that sounds like we're clearing our throat when we speak. lol My choir is singing this, and I enjoy singing it and speaking the language, I'm with the altos, but i gave up and just decided to sing with the sopranos.. lawl

This seems to me the best of a series of a series of disappointing performances on YouTube.

Does everyone sing this, one of Europe's great love songs, as if it was a lament at a funeral? The guy is setting out on a dangerous journey, let's admit that - perhaps he's a soldier - but he has hope in God, he trusts his sweetheart and he really does expect to come home again.

This should be sung as an anthem to courage, to faith, to hope, to love and to courage.

This version comes pretty close.
