@DoinkTonberry I guess it depends on personal taste because I watched all the first season episodes till midway of Johto and really, Team Rocket was in almost every episode and each episode had almost the same formula- Ash and co arrive at a new town, Brock falls in love with the girl of the day, who usually has the Who's that pokemon of the day, Team Rocket causes trouble and Ash and co either defeat Team Rocket with pikachu or the pokemon of the day- repetitive and boring

@DoinkTonberry Well, i would say in the first season they split it 60% with ash and co and 40% with team rocket. From the second season on it was 50-50. I havent seen much of the new ones cause i really lost faith in pokemon after the voice changes.

About the newer episodes: The battles are boring (the swirly eyes), but the effects are more exiting and better. So I think the newer episodes just lack the courage to do something, they need to make it real: hyperbeam=scratches [maybe wounds, but that would probably push it and it could get canceled for violence:( seriously! ]

the last exiting battle I remember was between Sceptile and Blaziken..that made my heart skip a beat.

Guys, if you think the new Pokemon is a pile of junk, congratulations.

Granted, the anime is pretty bad. The games are casual; they're not designed to be the next Final Fantasy. The movies are cool in their own way. But, I'm sorry, Pokemon was never more 'dark and edgy' in one time period than another. Maybe you're letting your nostalgia speak instead of your opinions?
