needs an air filter bro ik ur itching 2 ride it but u need a filter or ur carbs gonna get all fucked up then ur gonna have 2 clean it nice bike though i love the old 80s dirtbikes
i miss the aircooled RM,s i love that sound and smell they made that you dont get with modern off road bikes as that was a time when bikes were made off steel not cotton wool they are made of today because they break easy as my example i had a 1980 rm 250 i crashed it loads of times and it still went and then last year i bought a 2008 kx 250 one crash and it fell to pieces
Hey can you take another video.... But do it on the motor or mainly the carb.... I need to know how to hook up all the fuel lines and everything.....????
@Dingleable ITS EASY! the nipple that is vertical, facing the tank goes to the tank. The rest are just breathers/drain fro the overflow, just cut them a foot long, zip tie them together and run them down the back between the motor & swingarm.
cool bike. fix it up and keep it. i wish i had it. i am looking for one. use to have a 1979. that was a fast bike in its day. the rm is the best motocross bike ever made......
thats a very nice bike and it will give the modern day 2 strokes and 450 4 strokes a run for there money. my cousin has the same 81 model. he just got it all fixed and stuff and i cant wait till i go riding at his place in a few weeks to see his beast.
So what if it's older? After about 1980, all the big developments that make serious changes to performance basically halted. The suspension was excellent, they had more power than most riders could ever expect to need, and weighed just as much, if not less than the new ones. I would say the difference in performance between a 1981 Kawasaki and a 1981 Maico is about as great as the difference between an '81 Kawasaki and an '09. Different styling and feel, but similar performance.
JETZ, the Maico's didn't receive any changes for the liquid cooled bikes, they just increased bore size! and look how that turned out, one of the fastest, meanest, bikes there is today!
niiice... wish i had one... instead im stuck with a 91' dt200 and everyone here LOVES 4 strokes so its hard to find any... stupid 4 strokes.. got nuthin on the 2's.
Nice

i beg to differ these older bikes are not near as good as the newer 250 2 stroke or 450 4 stroke its older tech and an older bike
