  • May Anarchy become true and all of us become warriors for a society, where one aspiration rules: May all beings find lasting Contentment,be free of Negativity and the causes of Negativity. With such an Aspiration every opportunistic behaviour vanishes and instead of gaining power over others,we learn what it means to gain power together with others. This means to be truely egoistic with a vast horizon and not short minded and selfdestructive. The sky is the limit !

  • Can someone tell me what's this film and is it possible to get it in french or english?

  • "The Nine Lives of Nestor Makhno", but is only in russian....

  • Finally, almost every history book on the civil war in Russia was written by bolsheviks or anti-communists. Neither side would be willing to make mention of the Makhnovists for fear that people might discover a viable alternative (to capitalism or bolshevism) in Anarchism.

  • Comrade, Anarchism and Bolshevism are ultimately one and the same and can be reconciled. Valiant figures struggled against the degradation in Russia such as Lenin, Bukharin and Trotsky. While it's true they had their faults too (Trotsky is seen as a "traitor" to Anarchism) they represented the Proletariat's struggle for rule. I'm tired of misrepresentation of everything the Proletariat does by all kinds of dogmatists; whether "Anarchist", "Stalinist", "Leninist", "Trotskyist" or whoever.

  • Bolsheviks continue to criticize and lie about Makhno.

  • Most books were written by Capitalists actually.

Neither side presents an independent perspective, there are books and sources that present an independent perspective out there and we must understand, that neither side had it totally right like you are making out.

Disregarding the intial Bolshevik revolution as bourgeoisie is simply a gross mischaracterisation of history.

  • For all the romanticism , the Red Army would have been effortlessly annihilated by the Whites were it not for the Makhnovists. Many times, the red army simply fled when confronted with even a minor white force, while the Makhnovists often managed to defeat major enemy forces (they had to fight up to 4 different enemies during the course of the war) all without oppressing or robbing or massacring the peasants and workers.

  • Simply learn history. When I was the child, those still lived who remembered Mahno

  • Upon arriving in a settlement (few had any interest in their "communes") the anarchists started to act like hoodlums. They took whatever took their fancy, and amused themselves by shooting livestock. Areas controlled by the Makhnovists operated on a "take what you please" economic policy (typical anarchist inefficiency). They completely ignored the needs of the rural proletariat in their turf, erroneously claiming that they were of no use.

  • The people of Ukraine liked the Makhnovists because they supported the soviet-democracy the bolsheviks failed to uphold. They also did not force collectivization, as they knew that the peasants could do so themselves.

  • Makhnovists were hypocrites. They did everything they criticized the Soviets for: rule by martial law, quelling opposition, execution without trial, forcible requisition (only in a less official, more hooliganistic way- they were more of a nuisance than a blessing to areas they "liberated"), operation of a secret police. Furthermore, Makhno himself held special privelege (he could veto any voted action, and ruled with a select group of close friends). He was a lecher and drunkard to boot.

  • Makhno vivrà per sempre nel cuore di chi ama la libertà....!

  • Les "Mémoires et écrits" de Makhno seront publiés en 2009 par les éditions Ivrea (Paris).

  • I must advise everybody, this serial (9 Lives of Nestor Makhno) is a cheapest soap opera, completely anti historical. Story, costumes, characters, everything is bullshit. So, don't take it too seriously. Read some historic study instead, the reality is much more thrilling than any fantasy.

  • Oh my god... It's a Russian Red Army song, completely inappropriate as for the Ukrainian Black Army, they were sworn enemies.

  • Yes, but when I made the video, I don't know that was a Red Army song...

  • Well...they ended up as enemies but on three occasions they were allies against the Whites. The Makhnovists were even incorporated into the Red Army as the 3rd Trans-Dnieper Brigade in 1919 and some units even carried red flags alongside their black.

  • Anarchists always do Communists dirty work until they get stabbed in the back. The Soviet Union was built on victories won by the people and co-opted by the government. Fortunately we've learned not to trust mass organizations anymore.

  • hello comrades i am looking about this movie do you know any link(English subtitles also)?

    :)

  • I don't understand russian and I don't know makhnovist song to put on the video.

  • они герои!

  • tiene k estar bien la pelicula...

  • Seguro que si, lo que pasa es que esta en ruso...
