@gregrutz You speak truth, now SEEK "relational biblical truth". It is NOT found in modern churchianity, but in a personal, abiding, relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ. I guarantee you gregrutz try Jesus Christ for thirty days, (if) He doesn't reveal Himself in some way or fashion , walk away. TRY Jesus Christ, not denominational, religious churchianity. I am sorry to say but modern day Christianity is the most vile religion on earth, because of pitiful, pathetic church leaders&members
@truth1disciple (if) He doesn't reveal Himself in some way or fashion , walk away.
I did that when I was 6 years old and someone tried to tell me we all came off a boat. And the God who died for us was the same god that killed every man, woman and child on the earth but 8 people.
Church is not a building. The church is fellowship of believers, and this is why many people do not go in so called churches, because there is no fellowship, the real one.
@ivanasimic1 Amen, I see you are the FEW who are following the biblical mandates depicted throughout the Bible. Contemporary church (social club) members, have become lukewarm, backslidden, and even apostate because of rebellion to God's word. They are following these men and women dressed in the religious garb, but are wolves robbing (the ear tickled, form of godliness, entertainment seeking) church people. God's true church is found in Acts 2:42-47;4:32-37-the Model Church an organism.
I was raised as Catholic, now I'm agnostic. I don't go because I don't believe, but I could go to a religious ritual if I find it interesting. I remember from my childhood that church was boring. I see other children right now, when they parents take them to church, complaining about it. I respect them and the only thing I demand from them is respect.
Ppl should go b/c they WANT to not b/c they feel they HAVE to in order to avoid an eternal life in a pit of fire. I believe in God, but I refuse to spend my Sunday mornings surrounded by hypocritical, money hungry, judgmental fakes who pretend they are the epitome of perfection. Last time I went they asked for 5 (yes 5) offerings & told us God wants us to give all we have! Are u kidding me?! I don't think God wants me to be hungry & homeless when I leave church
@81Stevem Speak truth my brother, stay away from "organized" denominational religion. Start your own study with others at home, invite Jesus Christ to your study and watch, great and miraculous things occur. SEEK BIBLICAL TRUTH!!
I'm just one person, and I do go to church regularly, but I also don't believe in God or the redemptive power of Jesus. I wish Christians would separate their faith from their politics. I wish churches would teach facts rather than quote the Bible (which talks about heaven, but has NO BASIS for knowledge of what heaven is like).
Church can be a positive social environment, but not when dominated by the tyranny supporting garbage of Theism.
One of the most renowned atheists in Europe goes to church regularly, but only for social reasons. I don't go because it is a boring waste of time, in my opinion, but some others do, like you.
I think it's time to start asking why people that believe in Jesus don't go to church anymore. I think I know the answer. Churches have lost their way. They are hateful towards gay people and muslims, etc. Is this what Jesus would do?
I'm a Christian. I accept ask science. I think God loves gay people. I think God loves Muslims too. I think God would like us to use more social justice in this world. I even think God loves Republicans even though they are very hurtful.
Today we investigate when people some how manage not to become brainwashed? Unchurched means the freedom to live without fear or paranoia that a spooky incompetent father figure with a beard is somehow judging you. Do something for your fellow man today not because of some bootlegged mind control mushroom cult. Thats another thing most Christians don't know that they belong to a Mushroom cult. Books like 'The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross' or hell even the bible is a direct rip of paganism.
Jesus Christ is our example of how christian people should talk , live, behave, and demonstrate their faith. Christians are "human too" and they are sinners too. Christians have the same failings as the "unchurched do". But, the difference in most christians is the ability to pray and ask forgiveness if a sin has been committed. Christians should be "the light and salt of this world". However, the problems of the christians are the same problems of the unchurched? Please pray & have faith. Amen
my mom goes to church and with the best job she can get she barely makes enough money to get by on. its hard to tell how much debt she's in and its not just her my whole family is just barely getting by. so the way i look at it "serving god" doesn't seem to be helping mom so why should i waste my time going to church if its not gonna make things any better.
I don't go to church because the main core of their teachings are not even Biblical. Eternal torture, Immortal Soul, Tithing ...
If they are such experts, maybe they should actually read what the Bible says instead of adhering to man-made traditions.
Furthermore, the modern church that focuses on topical study instead of Biblical study is nothing more than a marketing ploy to compete with MTV and the rest of the secular world.
@FAITHandLOGIC Actually, the Bible does contain references to hell, Heaven, and giving to G-d. If you want a better look, find a decent concordance. As far as topical study goes, when we go to church, we learn about specific things and are introduced to a way of thinking we may not have had before because a lot of people who haven't gone through seminary don't know what the original Greek says. Biblical study is for private meditation with Christ. We do it so we learn and remember His Word.
@slycoperofer "Hell" is a word derived from Norse pagan mythology. The correct words in the Bible are Gehenna, Tartarus and Hades. Eternal torment is not in the Bible.
Jesus clearly taught of the saved inheriting eternal life at the resurrection. Just read John 5.
If my own fart doesn't torture me, some other annoying smell will! If I don't want a long prayer with loads of pauses during the very desired service closing, I'll probably get one by coincidence again. Someone is always on the other side of the bathroom door getting ran into, so I hear the same thing every time I entered it nearly. That's only three out of my list. >:x
Stupefying your mind in religious sleep. Caustic trumpery from your pitiful god. Centuries of lies to bolster belief. Empty words and useless faith. Resting beside your infirm prayers. Mindless and empty, false and absurd. Your sleep is sheltered with willing ignorance. It is time to celebrate the serpent's choice. So enthralling is Satan's wisdom. Death to dullards with the powers of Old Nick. Open your eyes to the shadowy truth. The search for enlightenment lies with the devil.
I wish it were closer to 90% that didn't go to church. It's so funny how the largest religion in the world tries to play the victim card so often. There is no God, never was, never will be. It's a big ol' fairy tale ladies and gents. Some people say religion helps people cope with life, I say it helps people cope the way alcohol helps people cope. Sure it'll help you feel better short term, but in the long term it destroys you from the inside.
OUR CHURCH PASSES OUT FREE DRUGS, WE HAVE A BROTHEL OUT BACK (FREE OF CHARGE), WE AGREE THAT EVERYBODY ID RIGHT AND NEVER OFFEND THE GOD HATERS, WE ALWAYS HAVE SLOP BOWL SUNDAY WITH LIVE NUDE CHEERLEADERS (MALE AND FEMALE), WE HAVE A FULL TIME ABORTION CLINIC, WE HAVE NO PREACHING NOR ANY MENTION OF JESUS, WE PROMOTE ADULTERY AMONG MEMBERS, WE HAVE FREE DIVORCE LAWYERS, PEDOPHILES WELCOME ALSO WE FLY A QUEERBOW FLAG - WE HAVE NO PROBLEM BRINGING IN ENOUGH PEOPLE TO PACK THE HOUSE EVERY SUNDAY.
The less people that go to church the less money the churches make. Maybe the church should pay a for hit man to shoot Benny Hinn in the head. It would make financial sense as he does an enormous amount of damage to the church's image. Maybe have a separate collection plate for the contract fund.
I don't go to church because God shewed me that they are (all) owned by the freemasons (Masons; Dagon worshipers; Mystics; The Craft; The Antichrist).
The Masons aren't going to clout you over the head with this reality. Everything's hush, hush legalized crime. If you're offended by this because you've gone to church your whole life, then I challenge you to take it before God, and ask Him. :)
@FinalSmashBrother Okay. Got you. You might fine formertelecomguy's videos pretty good. They're a little bit long, but very easy to take in and they address the apostasy, if you are interested. Have a good day. :-)
There is nothing biblical about "going to church" once we've become born again. Beware of the prosperity faith movement. God in Jesus is not some peace—loving, faggoty type of a Jesus that only wants for our success and perpetual ecstasy of life here on earth! God does not want His people sitting under the doctrine of devils mysticism that promotes homosexuality or any other corruptions of the flesh first admonished by Him.
It is His Holy Bible that teaches this. When you see the abomination of desolation standing in the doorway, run. Draw near to God. The desolation is the lack of God's bread; sound doctrine, and the teaching, instead, of men's philosophies; such as making merchandise of the sheep, Football, Christmas, Easter, Independence Day, Drinking, Fornicating, and Lying with your own sex. Don't GO TO CHURCH, come out of it!
The church is the tabernacle of the circumcised heart, that is made by the Holy Spirit through the furnace of fiery afflictions; sanctification, when we remain pure and reconciled to God in Christ Jesus. Jesus sits in the tabernacle of our heart when we prepare the path for Him; seek Him and read His Word, and when we remove all stumbling blocks; sin; and remain pure. Once we're born again, we go to work for God, not man by "going to church." God will provide us with a ministry.
Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
As long as we're reconciled to Him, He will give to us our ministry. It is the abomination of desolation; the apostate church, that teaches the mysticism of sin tolerance vs. repentance and Kingdom is at Hand salvation messages to babes in Christ.
Titus 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
Definition: To urge by strong, often stirring argument, admonition, advice, or appeal: To make urgent appeal.
exhort; Synonyms: advise, berate, call down, call on the carpet, censure, check, chide, come down hard on, counsel, ding, draw the line, enjoin, exhort, forewarn, give a going over, give a piece of one's mind, hoist, jack up, notice
admonish; Synonyms: rap on knuckles, rebuke, reprimand, reprove, scold, sit on, slap on wrist, speak to, talk to, tell a thing or two, tell off, upbraid, warn, strongly, criticize, stimulate, encourage, persuade, pressure, beseech, caution
I still go to church; however, I do not talk about it a work because I would lose my job and I most people tell me they do not want to talk about it after they bring it up.
Why does everyone NEED to have people IN church, why can't we leave people well enough alone, alright you're going to "heaven" go on then, what the hell do you care about the other people, just go on about your business and stop trying to coerce people!
I don't go to church much anymore because I'm one of those Christians who believes that you shouldn't have to attend a Sunday church service or even a Friday evening Bible study group in order to be a Christian. I think as Christians, rather than be told what to think and what to believe, and be threatened with eternal torment for disagreeing, we should be allowed to think for ourselves, believe what we want about God, and worship God our own way as individuals and not as a group.
@kristineurie44 Are you a Christian if you follow his teachings but are *unable* to *make* yourself believe in (a) the Virgin Birth, (b) the Resurrection, (c) the divinity of Christ... etc? Has the personality eclipsed the message and the teachings? Did the message -- the *instruction of Jesus himself on how to live life* -- get lost in "you must blindly believe in this, that, and the other"??
@kristineurie44 I should add that most of the so-called "Christians" I know are disingenuous and condescending people whose behaviour leaves much to be desired... people who've yet to read Mark, let alone anything else in the book they claim to believe every word of. *There's something wrong with a group of people who refuse to make the time to read a book they BELIEVE GOD ACTUALLY WROTE OR INSPIRED!* If I believed that, I'd've read it cover-to-cover several times by now.
@17LETSGO well yes there probably was a jesus he may not have been the son of god but there was a guy who spread the new religion around but i don't think he rose from the dead it may have been a buunch of people who pulled a big hoax just to convert more ppl ever think of that
@17LETSGO but its not a 50/50 there are so many religions so many beliefs so many different choices and its usually not your choice anyway its how your parents raise you you usually tend to side with your parents and what they do my parents are from two totally diferent parts of the world so they didn't force me to do any sort of religious thing then i looked at the world in whole and i didn't see any religion that looked any better than the last so i choose not to get involved and it works fin
@17LETSGO nowhere thats the biological truth of it when you die you die there's no proof of a heaven or a hell for all we know we could go to some awsome rave party when we die
@17LETSGO well mayb i dont believe in god so in my opinion no one died for our sins and that you believe some one did and i respect that but you cannot thrust your beliefs onto others
I stopped going to church when my preacher failed to name off the names of grandchildren, when my grandmother passed away. *I* was one of her grandchildren. He looked at me directly and then skipped my name. I was kicked out for wearing everyday clothes instead of a suit and tie. Church people give themselves a bad name when they shun the very ones they should be helping. I believe in God AND Jesus, strongly. But its not fair to be shunned for ones looks.
@crash 7997 according to the bible, those people wrote what God inspired them to write. they did not lean on thier own understanding. so, regardless of how they lived thier lives, doesnt really affect what God had to say.
I don't go to church because I actually think for myself and I don't like to spend time around arrogant, intolerant closed minded bigots--like all people that are Christian are.
im christian and i dont go to church for those reasons too, i dont see how going to church makes you a christian, just like sitting in a garage does not make me a machanic. not all christians are bigots or intolerant, everyone has a right to there own belief
There are a lot of reasons why the people don't go to church. Christians have been good in demonizing and finger-pointing these days! Most of them are self-righteous and judgmental. They fail to listen and understand! Calling gays and lesbians to go to hell! They failed in the witnessing part about loving without insistence! Mahatma Gandhi once said.. "I like your Christ but not the Christians."
this has been my exsperience of Christian Behaviour....I caught my christian wife in a extramarital affiar with her christian boss. My christian father cheated on my christian mother with another married christian woman. my christian step father molested my christian sisters. my christian grandfather commited suicide, my christian pastor commited adultery with a christian woman..
..
I grew up in church...no thanks, been their done that.
I used to go to church a few times a year for my mothers benefit. However they closed down the local one, and the next is relatively distant and pushy for money. I view and have always viewed the church to be just a company that asks to be donated to, without giving me anything else in return. The religion has many faults, and the church stealing so much money without paying taxes? that's one of um.
You don't get anything in return? You benefit spiritually for the preachers time and labor in the word. The church asks for money because that's how it's sustained as a non profit organisation. They have light bills to pay, water heat/air, staff etc...Tithes and offerings to the church is a biblical mandate. Some have done wrong with it? yes, have some done it mainly for profit? yes. Will they face judgment for it? yes! Should you quite going and giving because of a few evildoers? No!
@2Timothy4vs5 Than why dont they go from house to house like the apostles? than there is no worry about lite bills, heat bills and so on,,Why create a building that so hard to up keep? And if the pasror is really called by God and Sent--than God will provide,,Oh that takes faith which alot of them dont have! yup thats it.
You seem like a nice person and I want you to know that church is not all about money. I pastor a small church and have to work a fultime job outside the church to make ends meet, as is the case with 80% of most churches. For a pastor to perform his job properly in study, sermon preparation, administration, visitation and etc...he should be taken care of by the church (if able) so means of income are not a concern.
This guy is wrong, some Buddhists believe in God and some do not, it is not a purely atheistic religion, this is a common misconception by many westerners.
I don't go to an organized assembly because I follow Christ and not pastor/church. Going to that thing was the worst thing I ever did as a follower of Christ. I know what Paul ment when he said he was in danger of "false brethren".
"Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. "
@UrbanRoar The church is so worldly and knowest it not! The world knows it ,thats why thay dont go! You fools look and act just like them,Divorce, like them, watch R rated moveies like them and on and on.
totally wrong-headed analysis. As an unbeliever (in Christianity) I hear far to much prattling on and on from the faithful like a broken record... always the same robotic lines and quotes and always from fundamentalists.
The more you preach, the less likely you are to be heard.
"if Jesus Christ where alive today, there is one thing he wouldn't be - A Xtian" Mark Twain Having seen many "New Creations" as Aposlte Paul put it, I don't want to be a Xtian. They make NO effort to learn & apply the teachings of Christ. I am prepared to give a litany of Beeefs about Christians. Resident of Pgh Pa
people are only "open" once the Holy Spirit has convicted them...studies and surveys will never help the church...and the "unchurched" will find the cross offensive no matter what you do...just be willing to give them BOTH sides of the story...the truth about sin and the truth about forgiveness...and Jesus will draw people to Himself...
i think i was really going for an ad hominem attack on the bible writers, rather than a strawman. Short list of biblical failings; Free will paradox, creation story debunked time and time again by science, the problem of evil/suffering. And those are just the few that I can throw out without explaining in detail that would exceed my character limit.
I stoped going to church and being a christian all together because I felt like the only way some one can be a christian is to give up your autonomy, freethinking and ratinal scientific reasoning skills so you can have your thought be gods so you can have a blessed soul. The paster said that any individualised thought is self rightious, that as christians we should think as one collective unit, basicly to be christians we cant think for are selfs, I thought that was wrong
@pbrskater26 Simialir story here I was raised going to Church but choose to convert and I dont no if that makes me unchurched but if it does this video doesnt reflect my perception. I subconciously perciece some church-goers as tending to be more ego-oriented than altruistic but I could be wrong. Also the God of Islam and Christianity should be 'no different' as they are both the God/s of Abraham and the old testament right?
@pbrskater26 In that case, you must have had the worst and wrong experience of Christians and Christianity, and a very flawed view of what Christianity is about. Jesus did not come down for us so that we may give up our thoughts and our ability to freely make decisions of our own. If you think that is what Christianity is about, why do you think God gave us a mind of our own in the first place?
Well, alot of christians reject evolution as a science and go along with the literal aspect of creation and in some cases reject science all together. As I have gotten older and more intellectualy sound that I figured out that religion has become more oppressive. I see my self as a naturalist and humanist, I have had a hard time believing that there is anything past our naturalistic investigations. With that kind of thinking most christians would call me a herritic.
@pbrskater26: Scientific reasoning skills include being able to clearly express your thoughts without incorrectly spelling just about every big word you type. BTW, what kind of cult were you in that had a "paster" who said that?
I was in a conservative christian church. Oh and bad spelling dose not mean that your IQ is low, I lave a learning disability math and spelling is what I have trouble with. It pisses me off that people judge me like that, i'm not a dumb person, I understand evolutionary biology and herpetology and the scientific method, but sadly with spelling errors that i have a hard time with people think I'm retarded, that is almost cyber bullying in my opinion!
I never said your IQ was low, I said you were failing to express yourself clearly. I'm sorry about your disability, but it can be overcome. I know a lady my age I exchanged letters with who, like me, didn't have the joy of computers growing up, so she used dictionaries when she wrote letters. I never realized she had an issue spelling until I saw a rough draft of a paper she was writing.
I'm still wondering about this unBiblical pastor you said you had.
I went to a progressive church for a long time, but as I grew intellectually, I found that no religion could answer the questions I had about the glaring contradictions between god and what we know about the world today. The bronze age myth of christianity has failed at every turn. I am shocked so many people still embrace a story told by people who didn't have the good sense to keep their feces out of their food.
@Corymac65 I am not implying that people actively mixed food and feces. I am however always amazed that we take the written word of those who knew nothing of germs and proper sanitation to be fact enough to base our world view upon. These were people who believed illness was the wrath of god, not a microscopic organism attacking them.
Christianity was made up during the bronze age, thus making it a bronze age myth. If you need any further explanation of this, please feel free to write.
@crash7997 Crash you seem to have eaten a little of the bad stuff yourself. Most of what I've sen from you is merely accusation with no support oaf any kind, myth in other words. The bible has been shown to be fact, particularly in historic instances that have records from other cultures to back it. The FACT of God is evident in the systems of nature: His truth evident in human failure through disobedience. Since you were never saved, you never knew Him or Christianity. Blind decrying sight.
@zahnast 47% to 60% of people approved of the Iraq invasion in 2003. They were fed a bunch of lies too. Does that mean that the war was right? Just because lots of people do something doesn't make it right. Slavery was once approved of by a majority, Hitler was elected by a majority. But if you want to go that route, countries that rank highest in quality of life according to the UN are majority atheist.
@crash7997 I didn't say church was "right", I said church didn't fail. Hitler succeeded in wiping out millions of Jews, but it wasn't right. The US government succeeded in winning over the population such that they could invade Iraq. It still wasn't right.
The church has been hugely successful, but the majority of the church is a mess.
@crash7997: Wonderful, nice how you checked into every religion and made your decision. Please, how about a list of all of the religions you checked for answers and how much time you spent doing it?
Oh, BTW, I actually do agree with you, a "progressive" church doesn't have the capacity to answer tough questions, which is a more likely reason why you left.
Why do you think churches like Joel OSteen's get so many people? Do you really think there are any less hypocrites in churches like that?? No. People flock to churches like that because their preachers never preach Christ crucified and so they are never confronted with the cross.
Yeah, I saw that too. But you think everyone there is a Christ-follower? Lots of people go to church because it's the socially-accepted thing to do, much of the "worship" that some people offer is fake, and once in a while people do actually visit for the first time!
That doesn't make him a hypocrite (unless he claims to be a believer). Maybe this was his first Sunday there and he wasn't sure what he was supposed to be doing? Duh!
ok it's a church unless u came from under a rock you should know exactly what to do the priest even says what they're gonna do. i jus find this whole church thing useless. it's like a second government and if u think bout it religion is bacsically a government u disagree with the laws of a religion and it's people revolt. look at the crusades. i mean think bout it when u go back in time the spanish were spreading christianity by converting people despite their religion they forced their own
Paul said that the message of the cross is a stumbling block to the wise. We need to come to terms with the fact that for some, that is always going to the case.
Yes, but in the overwhelming majority of the churches I've been a part of, the Christians' attitudes, hypocrisy, blindness to their own sin, and judgementalism were 10 times the stumbling block the cross ever was.
And of all the unchurched folks we've successfully won (dozens), they consistently tell us that it wasn't the cross that deterred them, most of the times it is the ones who claim they follow the cross but don't live like it.
Just because an unchurced person says that it's not the cross that deters them doesn't mean anything. I am sure most of the unchurched people in that video would say that. More than likely it just means they don't really understand what it means to say the cross is a stumbling block. The fact that they say that it's people's hypocrisy etc doesn't mean thats really whats going one. The very fact that they pinpoint their hesitancy on someone else shows that the cross is a stumbling block for them.
I love how whenever these studies come out, the immediate reaction among some "church leaders" is to say "Oh we need to be more like the non-Christians want us to be." Nobody ever stops to think what the results say about the people being surveyed. I am not denying accountability, but it works both ways. The church needs to work at being more open and wlecoming, but there are some people who just aren't going to come unless we pretty much eliminate any talk of sin and forgiveness.
The most alarming thing about this study was that the non-Christians say that they actually wish Christians would talk about their faith more. This supports what I have thought for a while to be true, that the church has become too focused on secularizing the Gospel, so as to accomadate people. I think there are hypocrites in the church, but I think a lot of non-Christians who say that they don't go to church because of hypocrisy are just making excuses.
what gets me is that when it comes time to prove that this is a "god fearing" nation, the estimate is that roughly 90% claim to believe in god, but here he says that 53% dont attend services- that means that over half arent really practicing religion and likely only clinging to the idea of god for social reasons or because they are afraid to admit that they dont really believe it enough for it to make any impact in their lives.
I have a very positive perception about Christians. Firstly the majority of them are nice people and secondly they are people who are willing to believe the unbelievable without even questioning their beliefs. So my question is, why do Christians continue to believe in delusional ideas like a God? Especially the God of the bible.
If all it takes is a belief in God to get into heaven, regardless of how much of an asshole you were, I dont think I want to associate with your version of the Divine Presence.
If you were really a christian you would GIVE AWAY (not sell) all of your possesions and money. You would then walk the land with no shoes. As you arrived in different places you would practice good works (important) and preach the good word to the people of the land (only important if with works). If you werent accepted
lol, no, just every one i could get to...in quebec, new brunswick and ontario...all the same...you try talk about Jesus in church...they look at you like your nuts..but i do like charles stanley...
Thanks for your honest reply and I hope my question did not come across as snarky. Actually I have heard that the state of the church in Canada is pretty sad, so what you say actually doesn't sound so far-fetched. Have you tried starting some sort of home church?? The internet is actually another great resource to find good preaching and teaching. But, like with tv, there is also a lot of bad preaching and teaching on the internet.
i understand false teachings and pastors...i asked God for decernment...and i been readin the bible 31 years now...and when its not sounding right, I know..and if I don't catch it... God will...lol...GOD BLESS AND TEACH YOU ALL...
do you ever wonder why that is??? because humans can pray or worship or meditate anywhwere they wish....if you think you have to go to a building to connect..then you just dont get it..
It is interesting that he points out how TV reflects Christians in a poor light. I think it would be true to say that TV represents any group out there poorly, no matter what binds the group together(religion, race, hair color, career path, etc).
Definately some interesting statistics in there, I thought it would be a lower number that believes in some sort of divine spirit.
Maybe it's because your superstition is insane?

No its not a misconception that people don't want to hear about it. They really don't. So please keep it to yourselves.

@truth1disciple Let's look at some of God's TRUTH, as written in the bible:
- If you work on a Sabbath, you should be killed [Exodus 31:15]
- If your son disobeys you, murder him [Deut 21:18 -21]
- Sell your daughter into slavery to pay the bills [Exodus 21:7]
- If your children curse you, kill them [Lev. 20:9]
- Women are subservient, they must remain silent [1 Tim 2:11-12]
- Slaves must perform any act you wish [Titus 2:9]

99% of unchurched people are happy
royalblue69 3 months ago
Today we investigate when people some how manage not to become brainwashed? Unchurched means the freedom to live without fear or paranoia that a spooky incompetent father figure with a beard is somehow judging you. Do something for your fellow man today not because of some bootlegged mind control mushroom cult. Thats another thing most Christians don't know that they belong to a Mushroom cult. Books like 'The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross' or hell even the bible is a direct rip of paganism.
NickCarefoot 3 months ago
Unchurched means freedom from lies and falsehoods.
sweetsweatyfeet 3 months ago
Jesus Christ is our example of how christian people should talk , live, behave, and demonstrate their faith. Christians are "human too" and they are sinners too. Christians have the same failings as the "unchurched do". But, the difference in most christians is the ability to pray and ask forgiveness if a sin has been committed. Christians should be "the light and salt of this world". However, the problems of the christians are the same problems of the unchurched? Please pray & have faith. Amen

I want nothing to do with it.
FAITHandLOGIC 4 months ago
@FAITHandLOGIC Actually, the Bible does contain references to hell, Heaven, and giving to G-d. If you want a better look, find a decent concordance. As far as topical study goes, when we go to church, we learn about specific things and are introduced to a way of thinking we may not have had before because a lot of people who haven't gone through seminary don't know what the original Greek says. Biblical study is for private meditation with Christ. We do it so we learn and remember His Word.
slycoperofer 4 months ago
@slycoperofer "Hell" is a word derived from Norse pagan mythology. The correct words in the Bible are Gehenna, Tartarus and Hades. Eternal torment is not in the Bible.
Jesus clearly taught of the saved inheriting eternal life at the resurrection. Just read John 5.

SwordofSpirit1 9 months ago
It is His Holy Bible that teaches this. When you see the abomination of desolation standing in the doorway, run. Draw near to God. The desolation is the lack of God's bread; sound doctrine, and the teaching, instead, of men's philosophies; such as making merchandise of the sheep, Football, Christmas, Easter, Independence Day, Drinking, Fornicating, and Lying with your own sex. Don't GO TO CHURCH, come out of it!
SwordofSpirit1 9 months ago
The church is the tabernacle of the circumcised heart, that is made by the Holy Spirit through the furnace of fiery afflictions; sanctification, when we remain pure and reconciled to God in Christ Jesus. Jesus sits in the tabernacle of our heart when we prepare the path for Him; seek Him and read His Word, and when we remove all stumbling blocks; sin; and remain pure. Once we're born again, we go to work for God, not man by "going to church." God will provide us with a ministry.

Masterkavi 2 years ago
You don't get anything in return? You benefit spiritually for the preachers time and labor in the word. The church asks for money because that's how it's sustained as a non profit organisation. They have light bills to pay, water heat/air, staff etc...Tithes and offerings to the church is a biblical mandate. Some have done wrong with it? yes, have some done it mainly for profit? yes. Will they face judgment for it? yes! Should you quite going and giving because of a few evildoers? No!

i think i was really going for an ad hominem attack on the bible writers, rather than a strawman. Short list of biblical failings; Free will paradox, creation story debunked time and time again by science, the problem of evil/suffering. And those are just the few that I can throw out without explaining in detail that would exceed my character limit.
crash7997 2 years ago 2
I stoped going to church and being a christian all together because I felt like the only way some one can be a christian is to give up your autonomy, freethinking and ratinal scientific reasoning skills so you can have your thought be gods so you can have a blessed soul. The paster said that any individualised thought is self rightious, that as christians we should think as one collective unit, basicly to be christians we cant think for are selfs, I thought that was wrong
pbrskater26 2 years ago 8
@pbrskater26 Simialir story here I was raised going to Church but choose to convert and I dont no if that makes me unchurched but if it does this video doesnt reflect my perception. I subconciously perciece some church-goers as tending to be more ego-oriented than altruistic but I could be wrong. Also the God of Islam and Christianity should be 'no different' as they are both the God/s of Abraham and the old testament right?
1982mockingbird1982 1 year ago
@pbrskater26 In that case, you must have had the worst and wrong experience of Christians and Christianity, and a very flawed view of what Christianity is about. Jesus did not come down for us so that we may give up our thoughts and our ability to freely make decisions of our own. If you think that is what Christianity is about, why do you think God gave us a mind of our own in the first place?
purplecandle7 1 year ago
@purplecandle7
With that kind of thinking most christians would call me a herritic.

kamaeq 7 months ago
@kamaeq
I was in a conservative christian church. Oh and bad spelling dose not mean that your IQ is low, I lave a learning disability math and spelling is what I have trouble with. It pisses me off that people judge me like that, i'm not a dumb person, I understand evolutionary biology and herpetology and the scientific method, but sadly with spelling errors that i have a hard time with people think I'm retarded, that is almost cyber bullying in my opinion!
pbrskater26 7 months ago
@pbrskater26

@crash7997 What is the 'bronze age myth of christianity'? When did people eat their feces mixed in their food?
Corymac65 1 year ago
@Corymac65 I am not implying that people actively mixed food and feces. I am however always amazed that we take the written word of those who knew nothing of germs and proper sanitation to be fact enough to base our world view upon. These were people who believed illness was the wrath of god, not a microscopic organism attacking them.
Christianity was made up during the bronze age, thus making it a bronze age myth. If you need any further explanation of this, please feel free to write.
crash7997 1 year ago

But if you want to go that route, countries that rank highest in quality of life according to the UN are majority atheist.
crash7997 1 year ago
@crash7997 I didn't say church was "right", I said church didn't fail. Hitler succeeded in wiping out millions of Jews, but it wasn't right. The US government succeeded in winning over the population such that they could invade Iraq. It still wasn't right.
The church has been hugely successful, but the majority of the church is a mess.

Why do you think churches like Joel OSteen's get so many people? Do you really think there are any less hypocrites in churches like that?? No. People flock to churches like that because their preachers never preach Christ crucified and so they are never confronted with the cross.

LOL.. check out the guy at 2:37. He sees the camera and immediately closes his eyes while praying is going ons. Talking about hypocrites.
Reaja35 2 years ago

Reaja, you really scanned that video to find a hypocrit.your fuuny.

Paul said that the message of the cross is a stumbling block to the wise. We need to come to terms with the fact that for some, that is always going to the case.
MackLeeGreen 3 years ago
Yes, but in the overwhelming majority of the churches I've been a part of, the Christians' attitudes, hypocrisy, blindness to their own sin, and judgementalism were 10 times the stumbling block the cross ever was.
And of all the unchurched folks we've successfully won (dozens), they consistently tell us that it wasn't the cross that deterred them, most of the times it is the ones who claim they follow the cross but don't live like it.
halldelphos 2 years ago

MackLeeGreen 3 years ago

You would leave the city and wipe the dust from your feet as you left. That is what your lord told you to do.
For it is easier to pass a camel through the eye of a needle, than it is for a rich man to pass through the gates of heaven.

If church people were nice i'd go..but there not! so i study and worship at home..

MackLeeGreen 3 years ago

blueangel2497 3 years ago
