I found this video to be very 90's. The "special effects" on each photo looks like what B movies in the 00's make when they have no budget. I don't mean to be rude, but the filming and especially the editing need major work for this to be interesting. Also, the use of random works of art, like Michelangelo's pieces, make no sense in this video. It just seems like filler.
Yeah, You know a lobotomy is an old medical procedure where they shove ice picks into your eye soket, swirl it around and hope you don;t die frkm an anurism? not exactly the right name to put on something nice like this. It's a good video, just not the right name. I was the old school form of "happy pills".
I thought this was going to be an intelligent work with info in it.. 00:57 has nothing to do with a labotomy... it's a Van Eyck painting from the 1400's... this is gay

Not sure about the "wobbly film" plug in. The opening pair of shots were very lovely though. I would ditched the wobble, let the images carry themselves. Nice.

The film has a nice look to it and the music is well-chosen. You might consider pacing it a better so that the images move faster and faster. Also, superimposing live action in B&W would relieve some of the "sameness" of the still shots. Check out archive.org for all kinds of free public domain weirdness. Lastly, watch some of Stan Brakhage's films in the recent Criterion DVD release.
interesting. you can tell that you are very imaginative and that you have some interesting ideas in mind. you also have a good grip on what is creepy and unsettling. the movie was a bit basic, but i think you will get better with practice. hope to see more out of you.
Well thanks! That was one of my most in-depth comments. ;) I will definitely be doing some more stuff soon. Keep your eyes peeled! (Not literally. That wouldn't feel good. Actually, I'm not even sure that's possible...) Thanks for all the comments!! Take care, M PS: No offense. I love ALL comments. ;)
Nice. Very very nice. There's a real German silent film aesthetic to this. The first half works best when you focus on the hospital and the surgeons. Are the art images memories? And is the solar explosion the end of those memories? That's what I got. I'd like to see this expanded upon.
hypnotizing and creepy. It'd almost be a neat project to simply change the background music to something almost humourous to see how it changes in the eyes of a viewer.
This is a random slideshow of completely unrelated crap...

@aneal138 You are a very uneducated person for using that term in such a manner

half of that had nothing to do with lobotomy nor the time era for the procedure...
