In America we have a lot of professional politicians living off the public dole(ex-presidents,senators,congress members)who abuse and misuse their power and do little or nothing to earn their keep.They are only interested in furthering their own ambitions.
The Queen and other members of the royal family work hard to promote Britian and British interest
.Monarchies may have their short commings,but counties with monarchies are still better off than counties with politicians as head of state
Although I do not hold strong views on whether or not a republican or monarchical form of government are universally best, one thing is clear. People who I know in the U.K. who had the pleasure of being presented to a "minor" royal such as Princess Alexandra, the queens cousin, remember this for the rest of their lives, and remember how pleased the Princess was to have met them. The Queen Mum, although indulgent and indulged to, worked hard and brought great joy to her peoples.
