Well Gnomefro, This if you knew the true reason for sacrificial purposes would not be a reason to do so. Therefore, if it is done; one needs to look back into the beliefs and figure out how right they were in the first place. I honestly think before you comment like you just did. You need to learn to properly justify the comment.
And praying is only not related to one religion and that is atheism because of the faith derived in that religion.
Please show me a Christian that would sit back and calmly accept that a goat was slaughtered and it's blood splattered all over the monument as some sort of superstitious purification process or maybe easing the transition into the afterlife.
Frankly, as superstition was the direct cause of 9/11, the very idea that one would desecrate the memory of the victims by allowing superstitious figureheads to attend is disgusting.
What's wrong with having a public sacrifice of various small animals during the event? Animal sacrifice for religious reasons is protected by the First Amendment after all.
After Christians answer that question in their own heads, they should be able to understand why pushing their own superstition into the face of others is a grave insult that only splits the American society at a gathering that should be for everyone.
It doesnt mean you cant pray, it just means we dont want to be religious zealots like the people who hurt us.
