I think Republicans need to do a reality check. Sure, I didn't vote for McCain, but I didn't vote for him because I don't like what he stands for. And what I meant by it, is here in the free world we get something in return for the taxes, education, health, fireprotection, protection against crimes, transport etc. In the US you don't get squat for your taxes, but the banks do (banks are 51% of the US economy, they're only 2% of the norwegian economy, which is why we won and the US lost).
@lazygamerz that's true and not true, for example there is no law that says you have to pay income tax, but it is enforced as if there was a law to back it up seeing as you can go to jail for not paying. Also there are taxes that we pay that are backed by state and federal law, property tax, Sales tax, social security tax, etc...

I think Republicans need to do a reality check. Sure, I didn't vote for McCain, but I didn't vote for him because I don't like what he stands for. I never called McCain a terrorist, or a Muslim, or such (or whatever his equivalent would be). I respect McCain for running and for trying to shape America as he thinks is right. And I think Republicans should try and respect Obama too. We may not see results anytime soon, but he is trying. Believe it or not, being a President isn't an easy job.

And what I meant by it, is here in the free world we get something in return for the taxes, education, health, fireprotection, protection against crimes, transport etc. In the US you don't get squat for your taxes, but the banks do (banks are 51% of the US economy, they're only 2% of the norwegian economy, which is why we won and the US lost).

Let's try to be honest and see both sides. McCain/Palin ALSO used pathos (emotional appeals) to try to get elected. They didn't use hope and compassion, they used fear. It's what republicans have done best in the 9-11 world; it's all they have to offer.
The genius of the Obama campaign was the luck in the timing- the hope trumped the fear.
I didn't vote for Obama, but he ran a brilliant campaign.
