i rented this game from a drugstore multiple times, always getting stuck at certain points in the game. it is still to me a game that was way ahead of its time...the moody music and setting still blows my mind...it's on my top 10 games in terms of favorites..good choice man

I used to point out subtle things about the graphics of this game to my friends. For instance sometimes the A.C. fans on the sides of buildings spin at different speeds, or sometimes street lights will flicker. While not eye-popping, they kept things very interesting for me as I played the game. This was one of my all time favorites for the SNES and it's in my top 5 games I'd play if I could only chose 5 in the world.
This is my girlfriends acount, But My youtube acount is Juggalo5588 and This was one of the greatest snes games of all time. ITs totally awesome, and frankly, I still play this 18 years after its release!
wow ive tried the snes version and could never get 10 mins in to the game, sega one for me, and really the cyberspace for the snes is a joke compared to the sega version. must have something to do with that Blast processing the sega had LOL. either way if anyone gives this a try go fo the sega one u wont be disappointed
P.S. Bethesda shouldn't be allowed to make a Shadowrun cRPG, I'd prefer Obsidian to do it since they do better stories.
Anyway as far as I know one of the FASA founders has started a new company making a new MechWarrior game and I think he also bouht back he Shadowrun license from MS when they dismantled FASA. Hopefully he'll do something good with it.
Also, the first computer game I can think of that was proper cyberpunk was Neuromancer, a parser based graphical adventure game I played on PC

@Offbeaten The genesis version is made with the help of the people that created the Shadowrun table top game. They didnt work on the SNES version. If you think the snes version is better then youre just delusional, or maybe all giddy because a girl is saying its better. snes version is terrible.

Thats odd, I was unaware old gameboy games had color, something this game clearly had. Troll less, and the Genesis game sounded Bad, the soundchip in that machine was .. blech. Very few knew how to use it, Also i strongly disagree at the shadowrun for genesis looking better , Both games look pretty bland on both machines :P
You actually don't recieve Karma randomly. Internally, the game counts them in 1/8ths, and you'll only become aware once you've recieved a full numbr of Karmas.
What is funny is that your main complaint of this game is the shooting, and the Genesis version fixed that. SNES version is more searching and fiddling around with the dumb cursor, GEN version is faster paced and no cursor to slow you down. Its darker visually and has even more of a cyber punk feel to it than the SNES version. GEN>SNES Shadowrun.

"Forget those exist at all?" Er, the Genesis version is well-established to be the definitive Shadowrun game for all the reasons that many previous posters have already stated.
The Genesis version is the most true to the original dice-and-paper RPG. The SNES mixes up magic and tech too strangely. And the 360 version is just another crappy FPS.

Totally agrees, The genesis game was great if somewhat repetitive.
And jacking into the matrix was so much more fun in the genesis version. It felt more like in Jonnhy Mnemonic :P
Plus the SNES was more of a standar RPG although u had to aim for enemy while combat felt more like an action game on the genesis.
The Sega CD game is said to be awesome as well bu until its translated or i get much better at Japanese i cant tell lol.

This is the most decent review I've seen in a long time compared to some game reviews where idiots play the game talk out of there asses I give this a thumbs up

you looks sweet, but your eyes goes everytime before you cut it, down like you are reading something.
Anyway the game looks very like xcom (graphics) but very diffrent games, never play this one, nice video.

fucken Jake, such an epic soundtrack, its amazing no one picked up a movie deal with this game... right dark gritty, the only one that comes close is blade runner... well the atmosphere dark and rainy.... its too bad theres no classic rpgs that get made ,ike this before.

about 8 years ago my best friend and I broke out the whole library and dusted 'em off then ran through as many games as possible, as high as possible, as quick as possible - Shadow Run was my favorite, I'd never played it before. Then we celebrated with a Tecmo Superbowl party...

awesome game, it got my eyes opened for Rpgs and cyberpunk in general (and killing innocent pedestrians). It was also much more mature than pretty much everything on the SNES. .. t'was awesome indeed

@Offbeaten The genesis version is made with the help of the people that created the Shadowrun table top game. They didnt work on the SNES version. If you think the snes version is better then youre just delusional, or maybe all giddy because a girl is saying its better. snes version is terrible.

@NoBullet It was my opinion before I ever saw this video kiddo, And as far as the genesis gameplay, I didn't like it, .And while I do agree that gameplay Usually, is a bigger sales point, in this case It's an Rpg, a type of game where I do prefer.. music, immersion ,and story. So you'll need to wave something else than your "you just like it cause a girl does"-flag.. If i liked anything a girl liked i'd be watching twilight

@Offbeaten -This is the first time ive seen shadowrun for snes it lookes like crap like an old gameboy game. search for the videos from the sega version and take a look. it sounds better and looks better which are two things that really matter. Shadowrun is one of my all time favorite games but I dont think ill waste my time on a snes emulator.

Thats odd, I was unaware old gameboy games had color, something this game clearly had. Troll less, and the Genesis game sounded Bad, the soundchip in that machine was .. blech. Very few knew how to use it, Also i strongly disagree at the shadowrun for genesis looking better , Both games look pretty bland on both machines :P

You actually don't recieve Karma randomly. Internally, the game counts them in 1/8ths, and you'll only become aware once you've recieved a full numbr of Karmas.

What is funny is that your main complaint of this game is the shooting, and the Genesis version fixed that. SNES version is more searching and fiddling around with the dumb cursor, GEN version is faster paced and no cursor to slow you down. Its darker visually and has even more of a cyber punk feel to it than the SNES version. GEN>SNES Shadowrun.

The Genesis version is the most true to the original dice-and-paper RPG. The SNES mixes up magic and tech too strangely. And the 360 version is just another crappy FPS.
It breaks my heart. But any rpg shadowruner game is weacomed

I STILL play it from time-to-time (emulated). The SEGA (garbage system) and other platforms stunk up the franchise.

What was the name of Jester Spirit again? This game was a masterpiece,reason i started reading cyberpunk novels like William Gibsons Neauromancer was cos of playing this game.Wanna hear the the biggest bit of trivia everyone knows about the two again? The name Armitage is a nod to Gibsons book,ohhhhh ahhhhhhhhh.
