David Ford has been one of my favs for a while, but this song is just perfect. Just listening to this song can make someone real void of emotion get choked up. I only pray I find a love like he sings about.
god..james blunt gets millions of view for retarded music and this guy who is a real musician, song writer and performer in every sense of those words...gets less thank 50k...there is something seriously wrong with music taste these days
Bad taste is good for those who appreciate real talent - we all enjoy the drive through meal once in a while but finding a gem like David is best if we keep it to ourselves don't you think? Metaphorically speaking...
@valkyrieVigil I'd be prepared to bet that this guy will still be playing and performing long after J Blunt is just a distant happy clappy crappy memory... A lot of good music ends up labelled as Not Commericial Enough.
@valkyrieVigil: well, you're kind of right ;). I just read "damien rice" when I first saw your comment instead of James Blunt. And honestly, I think Damien Rice is a far better musician than James Blunt too ;).
Here's a unique idea guys......shall I leave a comment about the actual tune? Tis amazin',every note and word perfectly perfect, A DJ at our radio station in Scotland introduced me to this guys music and I can't thank him enough!
@razorbladekisses101 - Unfortunately you don't seem to grasp the fact that a person has more success making a point by showing great character. For someone telling others to "Get a life" you sure stayed on this argument for a while..
truth is if u dont like the way he sings or the fact hes english or whatever then why the fuck watch his videos? seems like ur just bein a typical yank and watchin stuff just to pick fault and think ur better then everyone else. fuckin lame
I watched it because someone suggested it to me. Everyone nowadays is sounding alike & listening to the same thing over & over. Its quite annoying that someone would think that this is anything but ordinary. And wtf is a yank? Where are you from? Is that suppose to be an insult? Just because im sick of ppl becoming so typical and cliche (and men becoming so wimpy) doesnt mean that i think Im better than any1. Im just sick of musicians trying hard to sound profound and I have to say something.
Ah, well in that case I am a 'yank' and seeing that I am, I know well of what ppl listen to most these days. But I am not referring to those genres right now. Im referring to whatever this guy falls under..
hmm well its pretty obvious that neither of you are academics and have no actual research to back up your claims however, the pseudo american accent is the standard style of pop singing so its actually refreshing that for the last 5 years a more indigenous accent has overtaken the worn out style of popular singing. OH and theres no genre that "people listen to nowadays" as much as that sentence never made sense anyway, in mainstream western cultures the internets blown it wide open to all music.
Your and idiot...Stop taking it so literally..We are obviously making (quick) blanket statements and if your not socially intelligent enough for that then shut the fuck up. And if you have enough time to analize our conversation that deeply, you need to get a life. Your not schooling anyone..Also I'm a graduate of UCBerkeley so take that stuck up comment and shove it up your ass.
Well first , I'm relatively certain you meant to use "you're" (multiple times), "an," and "analyze." But other than that, it seems your stint at UCBerkeley served you quite well.
Listen instead to his song "State of the Union." A person of your caliber should hold an appreciation for it.
Also, men expressing emotion is hardly weakness, though I don't suppose a person with the moniker "razorbladekisses101" would view emotion as anything other than that.
I know men expressing emotion is not a weakness. I didnt like his voice in State of the union either. Sounds too cliche sensitive english boy who wheres tight pants and fedoras. I didnt major in english so i dont give a shit if my spelling or grammar is off. Im not so serious about this to look back over it. So i suggest you do the same and get a life . Actually it did serve me well. I have a great job and get paid a shit ton. My moniker came from my highschool bands name & im not a pussy boy.
haha socially intelligent enough to understand blanket statements? i would argue i was the stage above that because i was pointing out your blanket statements are inaccurate extremely. and i dont need to get a life content analysis is what i do, you arent the only one who can flash around a degree, and you extremely poor attitude suggests that you're making that up anyway. you really are a complete arse and the more you go on the more you prove it i'm afraid.
You obviously were not getting the point of the conversation. You start to ramble on about bullshit that has nothing to do with r points. U said that there is not music that people listen to nowadays. Do u not go out? Theres clearly a type of sound & a look that everyone hve been going after & thats what David represents to me. I do have a degree and I dont 'flash it around'. If you dont get y i mentioned it then that would make you an idiot.
@razorbladekisses101 you spelled out the wrong kind of word, its wears not wheres. Dumbass. (i bet your gonna read this and swear your mouth off. faggoty little hard ass)
haha wow man, you are ridiculous aren't you. what then would you consider original then? i mean have you heard anything else by this guy? name one person that sounds/does the same thing as him and maybe then you can argue your point
I saw this performance AGES ago and I immediately went and wrote this guys name down. A few years later I decided to pop his name in Youtube to see what I could find, and this exact performance came up. My only gripe is that I don't have sound at the moment. At least now I know what the song is called.
i first saw this on last call with carson that i hardly ever watch i was channel surfing and came across this needless to say im definetly still a fan

David Ford is by far one of the most talented artists Ive ever heard. There is a great video of him on youtube where he is interviewed about when he got into the music industry his response is classic. He is the antithesis of the common corporate sellout.
David Ford is even better live, see him twice now and the talent he has,you have to watch "state of the union" live to really appretiate how good this bloke is.....surprised jo whiley hasnt played him.....not commercial enough maybes
he is by far the most under appreciated talent out there in the music industry. He's not flashy, but unlike alot of the "artists" out there now he has substance. I saw him live as well when he performed in New York.
I've heard the piano version a million times, but this is first time I've heard the acoustic version..and I must say...this version is just as fantastic as the piano one...everytime I listen to his music I get goosebumps...absolutely amazing performer...and for those who haven't heard any of his other songs...go listen to State of The Union...freakin fantastic..!!!!

razorbladekisses101-
even worse. you conduct yourself as though you were 15, therefore boasting to be ten years older is a little pathetic.
I'm only 19, would never claim to be an "adult" and it's quite clear that I, almost a child, am more mature than you.
Grow up my dear, the opinions of children are rarely taken into consideration in the real world.
