  • I remember listening to this song in the trailer for the movie. It really gives a feeling of Divine Completion. For all its faults, Evangelion and the End of Evangelion are truly a spiritual journey unlike any other.

  • OMG I SEARCHED FOREVER TO FIND THIS PIECE FORM THE ENGLISH TRAILER!!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH YOU SAVED MY LIFE!!!

  • the music that should be placed at the center of the planet Earth at year 2012 for all humanity to listen,

and I want this to be played at my funeral as well..

  • it sounds like you just entered the gates of heaven.

  • Japanese Composers are awesome, Shiro Sagisu is one of the best composers around

  • omg so wonderful

  • WAIT this in the movie!

  • Feliz dia de la madre *o*

  • Here is an interesting tidbit for this song people, back when they were hammering out the story for Evangelion, this song was part of their plan from the get-go, only for a different purpose. Back at the planning and development stages there was going to be an added plot point about a lost city known as Arka (Ark, Arqa, Aruka, Aluka depending on how you want to translate the name) and this and "Depression", "Introjection", and "Separation anxiety" were to it's theme music.

  • This song is Divine. I loved it.

  • oh man I know...........it's so transcedental.

  • yeah it sound pretty good

  • So intimidating

    perfect.

  • This represents a Day of enlightenment.

  • This song is beautiful, Powerful and Godly

  • This song just makes me have goosebumps and my hairs stand up.

  • These are the lyrics to the whole song(not this one entirely)

Far in the distance, it starts a shadow.

Similar found freedom, will bring us salvation.

    On the horizon, before tomorrow.

Seeing across the land, to give us unity.

Look to the heavens, with tears of triumph.

To cherish our rebirth, and suffer no more pain.

This time will bring peace, from all destruction.

Never shall we return, from conflict we must learn.

  • shiroh sagisu.... its a .........(Danm!) SHIROH SAGISU IS GREAT!!

  • All of Evangelion put into a single song!

  • So powerful and beautiful......... :)

  • No, this song plays in the End of Evangelion trailer english dub.

Search for "End of Evangelion trailer" in YouTube and you will eventually find it in the list. I think its the 2nd, 3rd or 4th video listed.

  • This is amazing

  • anyone know what the lyrics are? at first it's just saying "ah" but then it seems to have lyrics.

  • as far as I can tell they go:

"Far in the distance, is past the shadow

Symbol of our freedom. Will give us salvation

ON the horizon, look for tomorrow.

Sweeping across the land. To give us true meeting."

There's a version of this song on the End of Eva soundtrack which contains clearer lyrics and that's what they seem to say.. there are more lyrics to this song too but I forget what they are.

  • Far in the distance is cast a shadow

Symbol of our freedom will bring us salvation

On the horizon hope for Tomorrow

Sweeping across the land to give us unity

Look to the heavens with tears of triumph

To cherish a new life and suffer not again

Lift up your spirits from all destruction

Never shall we return from conflict we must learn

  • where did you get that shit ??

  • @penwe17 actually i don't remember, but it was hard to find at the time. i'm still glad i did since it was almost an obligation from the minute i heard this song for the first time in this masterpiece of a movie

  • isnt this what is played when asuka realizes her mother's soul is in unit 2?

  • No, it plays when Rei fuses with Adam and when She's about to engulf Shinji and then transforms into Kaworu, etc. It's generally associated with Rei as she's Shinji's mother.

  • ahh now i see thank you

  • @faustdaigratu She's not completely his mother

  • Powerful music ! When was it played in the series ( I think, ep 25 or 26... but maybe they used this song in an other episode ) ?

  • It played this song during the part in episode 26 where Shinji is flying through the world of free space and then he gets a line drawn and that's the ground. (that whole sequence.)

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • I finally found this song! THANKS

  • This part in the series almost made me cry, nice.
