lol whoever said Aikido trows don´t work all the time should try it for themselves.. I´m sure their impression of it would change once they practice some..
0:55 too much showing up... japanese martial arts are not used to be showing up like this... esp for aikido and kendo... anyway.. very funny when u track this vid by Naruto music ^^
alenizzi : first of all, your are the stupid boy! second i am Kyokushin 5 Dan since 1978 the day I´veen training kyokushin kai kan IKO! for me it seems that you dont know shiit..
the only prob;em i have in aikido is that the people flip to much. and they unfortunaltey try to avoid the idea if someone reverses or someone ressits motion.
The attackers do those "flips" so that they don't end up with a broken wrist. In actual practice, the attacker would not know how to properly break fall to avoid such things. There is no resistance in true Aikido. You flow with the attackers energy, so if they reverse their energy, so do you. There many techinques that demonstrate this, but perhaps not on Youtube.
It just that people who have a closed mind set... will think aikido looks like this on the street.
Here are times when it can.
however I don't like when people think they can do it in class. its just as easy in real life.
no.. in real life the attacker doesn't always have the same energy to reverse so the reverse looks small. Unless the attacker is running fool speed at you. its hard to apply some aikido techniques.
that might be true but what you learn in aikido is to control the direction of motion and take advantage of it.
If there is no motion you learn how to take advatange of that too.
that will help in any fight. so all you need to do is hit the bag ones in a while and you'll kick ass in most fights if you were unfortunate enough to get in one.
for a martial art in a non-sparring environment, people will never know for sure. aikido is for people who like convincing themselves rather than putting their abilities to the test.
Aikid does technically have a form of "sparring", well 1 style at least, Tomiki Aikido its called Randori and is usually limited in competition to just 17 basic techniques and then 5 counters for safety, but there are various levels of Randori, very light where its co-operative, then they attacker adds in resistance in that they dont just fall over unless they have no choice, and then they are allowed to counter techniqes, then comes Shiai which is as close as youll get to a real fight in a dojo
im sure alot of tese throws dont work some do of course ut the one i think dont work is because otherwise youd see them being done in top level judo and if it worked im sure theyed use it"
The grabs in aikido usually work form anywhere on the arm, just make a slightly different twist and the end result is the same, so bei ti wrist sleve shoulder, lapell, they all work on the same principles, just sometimes you need to add a little extra spice to the mix.
@bubaflex That's like saying, "I'm sure judo throws don't work, because if they did they would be used in Aikido." The thing people need to understand is that not every technique is for every situation and it's up to the master to select the correct technique for that moment in time. All martial arts have the potential to be effective, the question really is how much skill is required. Aikido is a difficult art to master, but as the saying goes, "you get what you put into it."
Pero que carajo tiene que ver con el Shaolin.. de Shaolin 0%. El complemento del Aikido con Karate no me parece mal, pero nuevamente no tiene el Kata nada de Shaolin.

Aikido can be a devastating weapon with a skilled defender. It's a long journey, but I believe it's worth it.
