i loved the old "metalcore" style, but i think the crusade and especially shogun was the most unique metal style to come out since fucking god knows when, probly the 80's thrash style, theres literally 100's of bands with triviums old style, noone plays anything like the shogun style of metal playing, shogun was so fucking epic

@deadslutbluewater The "metalcore" genre is too simple, and annoying, I like how Trivium can take that genre, make it heavier, AND much more badass. Matt and Corey are defidently two very talent composers, the harmonies, and melodics of the Shogun album are what drew me back into the band.

Matt's vocals were claimed to sound like James', that's all. And even that could be argued, because they don't sound that much alike. The guitar riffs, drumming, nothing else sounds like Metallica. There's more to a song then vocals you know.

I'm fully aware that Ascendancy is all in drop D, except for their cover of Master Of Puppets, which is in Eb tuning.

Shogun is mainly B standard, except for 4 songs (2 of which are B-sides) that are in E standard. 7 string guitars vs. Drop D guitars? B standard tuning gives a guitarist 3 extra notes in comparison to Drop D. You mean to tell me that Shogun sucks just because it uses 3 extra notes?
