More into soft, flowy, fairy-tale stuff? Alan Menken. Classic old-movie sounds? Oliver Wallace. And there's composers like Michael Giacchino and John Debney who are just jacks-of-all-trades.

This movie inspired me to follow my dreams, take the helm and start my own course...to stick to it no matter the squalls...and when the time comes I'll get the chance to really test the cut of my sails and show the world what I'm made of...I hopw you're all there...catching some of the light comin' off me that day.

James Newton Howard does amazing work on all his soundtracks. Lady in the Water, Dinosaur, The Water Horse, and I Am Legend are a few of my favorites...
I had a hell of a time trying not to cry infront of my brothers when we watched this scene. Even now I still get teary-eyed, I mean I wish Silver was a real person, and it depresses me that he had to leave (which I think is the only reason there should be a sequel, had it not been that Disney totally sucks at making those)

omg omg i know what you mean! this song is so lovely, the 'Irish-ness' at the beginning makes me feel like i'm in the peaceful mountains too, alone, looking down upon the valley.
then it continues, the song gets more beautiful i feel like crying....
3:16 just LOVE ♥ how the song begins to get more joyful, like a happy ending,, sends chills all over my body. its simply serene.... and joyous.
