  • i love it! great tacktic for getting her done!!!

  • how you made the few edges in one axis...

  • Hey man this is a really cool vid, easily the best one i've found on youtube for modeling a head. I have a question if you don't mind - why do you start with a plane, subdivide it, mirror it and delete half? Is that something that aids you in creating the edge loops and ensuring that they are clean for rigging?

I am having a few troubles with rigging my head model because of strange vertex edge problems and I end up spending too much time fixing stuff. Thanks

  • Very, very nice. I'd love to try out this technique, myself, as well. Thank you very much for demonstrating this for us.

  • Brilliant technique! Thank you so much!

  • Thanks! It sounds like you need to select the four verts around the hole and press F to created a polygon.

  • Great tutorials! Thank you so much? However when I go to the subserf mod. it leaves some holes in the mask I created... Have tried recalculate norms and no luck. Any ideas?

  • Can't "like" this enough!! Super cool method. Thanks much for sharing!! 5/5

I've read much of Tim Albee's stuff...

    I use to use LW

  • Wow this is really well done, I like this process. Super Fast. I have a question, did you use set smooth or subsurf or anything like that? I will be doing this tutorial in Maya and will need that info. Thanks again.

  • @Ralpimp09 Thanks! Yes, I used both set smooth and subsurf

  • @DarrinLile could this process be used without subsurf? i am not sure how to do that in Maya

  • @Ralpimp09 Sure, in fact it may even be easier without subsurf.

  • I love edge looping, its sooo much more more simpliar than building the head out of a cube and useing kinfe cuts everywhere.

  • Wow, that's a great way of modeling the face! I'll be sure to try that. Can you do the same thing for the ears? If you can, could you make a video on it? 5 stars! :)

  • @cganim8or I think the answer is no. Search for Martin Krol on how to do ears.
