I never knew what a beautiful androgynous figure peter gabriel struck in his early days. Kind of like how Bowie was so pretty. He even moves with the grace of a woman. it is strangely attractive. What you are seeing in this video is a a true artist. Someone who is expressing something with absolutely no care for convention.
Phil Collins is every bit as genius as Peter Gabriel. 1/8 of either of them is 5000 times more than anything that is being marketed as music these days. Phil is also one of the most under rated drummers. Seen them in concert in 76' (after Gabriel) and it was one of the best concerts I ever went to.
I remember crying for days when I was a schoolgirl and Gabriel left. I thought the band would end. Well it didn't of course, and I like Collins too - but Gabriel was always my childhood hero:)
A cover is always necessary. In concealment lies a great part of our strength. Hence we must always hide ourselves under the name of another society. --Die neusten ararbeiten des Spartacus and Philo in dem Illuminaten-Orden, 1794, p: 165

@MokRodrigues I understand the sentiment of many of your comments, but... Lady GaGa is a prime example that people are still able to be who they are on stage, if not more so now than ever. The 60s, 70s & 80s were truly a renaissance for self-expression through art, and the 90s as well as onward have only kept that going. oh i know what Peter Gabriel is doing at the beginning and end of the song, he pretending to use a lawn mower, i thought he was in a warzone at first. the songs about a lawn mower.
It's easy for me: I grew up with this exceptional band. Respect for the later generations who look and listen and analyse "the old stuff". Maybe even easier for them tough... if the motherfucking crap produced nowadays make them run away hard from it!
GENESIS must be then a safe heaven of exceptional quality with no mercy on quality, arrangement, instruments, skills, talent and performance! And never forthe money. That came along with how-good-they-proved-to-be.

Lady Gaga never claimed to be wholly original just an artist. A real artist, she doesn't deserve to be insulted just cause she was born 30 years in the future. At least she had sense to look for what came before.
Take note ye, you greatest generation, for you have witnessed the best of Genesis. The Mecca of Prog rock. You shall be remembered for enternity, because you where there, and all before you and after will be forever jelous, for you have witnessed the pinnacle of Poetic Rock, and we of the modern generation have to deal with Beyonce singing about a single lady, and will be forever in an age of repetitiveness music that has no intellect behind it .
@reaper69316 Are you nuts? Phil Collins? Good gawd buddy, look who still on top AND touring currently? Yes, it's Peter
and he and Genesis always wrote jaw dropping lyrics and played music unlike anyone else. Seriously, su su sudio was lame. Phil should have stayed behind the drumkit.....
This is my favorite video on here..I wish I could see live shots of him swinging out and walking on people's heads...Peter loved doing that in theaters
@Pittking86 Teehee, I'm thirteen and I adore Genesis, too. Best band 'til Phil had to assist in the destruction of Progressive Rock. There are tons of kids with taste in good music; not only Prog, but also Zeppelin, and Hendrix, Janis Joplin, so many of us like it! But, still, the majority of adolescents like... what did you call it? Shit?
@GORSKIED It's nice when younger ppl out there realize that today's music, which is marketed strictly to their generation, can't compare at all to what was being created in the late 60's, 70's, etc.
@ThePinkguns I know. I listen to all of my friends say lil' wayne is their favorite artist/makeshift god. I say that my favorite act is Genesis and they say who? It's annoying

Signed
A new generational Genesis fan.

this is bullshit everyone knows that the best thing that came from genesis is Phil Collins solo career SU SU SU SUSSUDIO!!!!!!
reaper69316 10 months ago
@reaper69316 Are you nuts? Phil Collins? Good gawd buddy, look who still on top AND touring currently? Yes, it's Peter
and he and Genesis always wrote jaw dropping lyrics and played music unlike anyone else. Seriously, su su sudio was lame. Phil should have stayed behind the drumkit.....

@GORSKIED i smelled it too, glad you like Genesis..some people your age like shit like Lady Gaga like skins obsessed saddos today
Pittking86 8 months ago
@Pittking86 Teehee, I'm thirteen and I adore Genesis, too. Best band 'til Phil had to assist in the destruction of Progressive Rock. There are tons of kids with taste in good music; not only Prog, but also Zeppelin, and Hendrix, Janis Joplin, so many of us like it! But, still, the majority of adolescents like... what did you call it? Shit?
Not music, whatever it is.

@GORSKIED It's nice when younger ppl out there realize that today's music, which is marketed strictly to their generation, can't compare at all to what was being created in the late 60's, 70's, etc.
