Conductor, orchestra, and Yudina must have been in one very large rush to get this taped and over to the inner sanctum of Stalin. I own many recordings of this concerto but none of them quite matched this third movement for brevity of duration. rofl
No problem ;) See... I'm sure bassoon player was short of breath not only because of speed but also because of fear to find himself in a labor camp somewhere in Siberia the very next morning.
