  • Thanks guys! Yes, this is adapted from Nalacharitham and part of a a kathakali padam. But I dont think there is a genre of music as "Thiruvathira songs". The so called Thiruvathira songs are mostly adapted from other forms of music. Anyway Chithra has sung it very well and it is suitably rhythmic for a thiruvathira song.

  • Not thiruvathira song, Its from Nalacharitham , and also sung very diiferently , no way close to how it is sung during katha kali

  • This is part of nalacharitham kathakali. This is where Damayanthi gets a Brahmin to search for Nala after he leaves her in the middle of a forest. This is the Brahmin telling Damayanthi that he has no problems to go in search of Nala and find him

  • it`s cool

  • This is actually a "kathakali padam", coming in the story "Nalacharitham" by Unnai Varier... but it's not sung this way.. this is suitably adapted for thiruvathirakali...

this song comes as a dialogue between sudeva brahmin and damayanti...

  • If anybody knows the lyrics/meaning of this beautiful song, can you please post it here? I have tried searching online and it doesn't seem to be there. I feel so much like singing this, but i am at loss without lyrics and meaning! Thanks so much in advance
