This was a joy to see! As a 40+ year fan of the Temptations, My 2 favorite lead vocalists of the group have always been Ali-Ollie Woodson & Dennis Edwards.......in that order. It's my opinion that Dennis first brought that "Gospel" flavor to the Tempts lead vocals......and Ali came along and PERFECTED it! Brother Ali (God rest his soul), took us to CHURCH!. I had no idea that Dennis & Ali participated in the same group at one time........it HAD to have been a treat to have heard these gentlemen.
whel even tho this is not the original temptations.. its always good that they lived by the way the original temptations did their songs and temptations will always been remembered as the first ever group that made smokey robinson and motown records big... they are the epitemy of that soul music they brought... i love them i saw the movie i have all their records from my dads collection and thank you for making great music
this isn't Temptations... this is The Temptations Revue featuring Dennis Edwards.
It includes Dennis Edwards, the closest thing to classic temptations line-up (besides Otis), and Ali-Ollie Woodson, one of the most soulful voices in Temptations after David and Paul.
In fact, when I think Temptations, I hear Paul Williams, David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Dennis Edwards, and Ali-Ollie Woodson.
I guarantee if you pick your favorite temptations song, it would have one of these 5 fellas on lead.
Always loved Dennis. And it was real sad to hear about the loss of Norman Whitfield a couple of years back. Bless him.
