@djuwell they are commemorating da death of imaam Hussain (RA )who gave his life in path of islam and truth..however this ceremony is only celebrated by the shiaahs school of thought not by sunnees.. sunees celebrate it in a passive way by doing more prayers and speech about the pious life of imaam Hussain( RA)
