  • Angharad wasn't mentioned again. She never appeared in another episode either, as Geoffrey had a complete blow-out and hacked her up.

  • Angharad Rees - from 'Hands of the Ripper' to 'Hands of the Zipper'!

There's a bit missing from this clip where Geoffrey narrates how candles are made, to the music of Ryan Paris' 'Dolce Vita'. In fact you can just about hear the track fading out at 2:45.

  • Jeffrey44, your comments crack me up!

  • Actually, its the episodes of Rainbow that are funny. Not me.

  • LOL at Geoff packing the puppets off to bed early so he can get it on with Angharad!!

  • I just noticed that Geoffrey goes to the shops to get more candles and leaves Bungle, George and Zippy home alone. Is this the only time he has done this? I'm sure they have always had a babysitter in the past even if it was Uncle Bill Grumpy.

Although I am pleased that Geoffrey is happy with Angharad, he shouldn't forget the fact that he is responsible for three young and/or mentally ill animals.

  • I looked up Angharad Rees on Wikipedia and it says she was married when this episode was made (1985). I can only assume it was a different Angharad Rees, it must be a very common name.

  • Its a shame they didn't make a spin off series based on this episode. I would love to have seen a romantic comedy in a later time slot based on Geoffrey and Angharad's relationship.

B,G & Z must have had a very early (or very very late) night, as you can see Angharad's watch when Geoffrey holds up the heart picture and it is only about half past 4.

  • Yeah that would have been a cool idea to have a spin off!! Well spotted about the time on Angharad's watch!

  • This was a weird episode. I'm glad Geoffrey managed to get a bird back to his house without Zippy, George or Bungle Bonce messing it up for him though. I think he was hoping for an early night too. I do wonder what happened to his French lady friend, Michelle. I like the way Geoffrey says "I think we'd better go have our dinner", he uses his sexy voice.

  • When Zippy sings 'Paste Away' at the start of the episode, his mouth doesn't move.

What newspaper do they use to cover the table? I wish we could see, it would give us some idea of Geoffrey's political views. My guess is that he is quite liberal. I'm not sure which newspaper that would translate to though.

Why would Geoffrey choose to take part in a messy activity like painting (I assume Geoffrey instigated it) when he knew Angharad was going to visit?

  • Rod, Jane and Freddy's song is fab and it's really sweet that Geoffrey has a girlfriend Angharad. I love the part where Geoffrey and Angharad find out what Zippy's secret message is.

Wonderful episode thanks for sharing it Peter :)

  • You're very welcome Lisa, I'm so happy that you enjoyed the episode so much.

  • Was Angharad ever seen or mentioned again?

  • No I don't remember her ever appearing or being mentioned again.

  • I guess it didn't work out between her and Geoffrey then.

Maybe she didn't want to get involved with a man with so many responsibilities.

  • I saw it twice in the eighties. I remember Angharad and the table but I'd forgotten the song.

I liked this and the other episode where Geoffrey and the puppets were remembering his old girlfriends - it was nice to see the 'Geoffrey' character having a life.
