  • thanks for this...:)

  • It`s quite difficult

  • I have the t6 screw driver, will it work by itself or i need t5 also?

  • @MsZhus You need the T5 for removing the top and bottom covers and the screen. The T6 is for the 3 screws at 3:53

  • Please, upload video on how to replace sim tray. Thums up :D

  • @loverbojxy Sim tray replacement is best left to a skilled Technician, its needs a 'hot air' soldering station and quite a bit of skill

  • thank youuu :)

  • I have updated symbian belle but I don't like it and I want symbian anna how can I get it plz helpp :)

  • @mishosk8 Search on Google for 'downgrade from symbian belle to anna' and the first result is a tutorial on how to do it!

  • Do have anyone in mind that can try fixing it? Please email me michael.colipano@yahoo.com thanks

  • There is no repair shop here that fixes a busted sim tray thats why i'm trying to look for some help

  • @mico0723 Perhaps you can find someone who is good with 'hot air' soldering. You cannot use a normal soldering iron. Perhaps you could send it off to someone who can do it?

  • Maybe you can also post a video on how to change the sim tray cause i broke mine

  • @mico0723 I did try to make one, but you need a 'hot air' soldering iron to change it. I recommend you let a professional repair it

  • brilliant video. thank you.

  • thanks much... !!!

  • Where's the EPIC button?

  • Thanks for your sharing. especially the way of removing top cover by cello tape. by toms4gsm

  • Impressionante

  • I need to change my hosting on my N8 and I'm wondering why you didn't disassemble the screen also? I'm going to buy a new colour on my hosting and I want to know if I can keep my old screen and change it into the new hosting? It costs a lot more to buy a new touch screen and my old one is still fine!

  • @AhlaWahde (hosting=housing/case) It is almost impossible to remove your touch screen from the frame without damage as the glue is extremely strong. You should buy a frame that comes with the touchscreen, or buy a new touchscreen for your new frame, then you will have a spare one :-)

  • thank you :)

  • Thanks for making this, I've just used it to replace my earpiece speaker.

It's fairly straightforward but I had problems with one screw rounding off and one actually snapped, these were both used for securing the screen. There was way too much threadlock on them from when it was made, it's a phone, not the Titanic!

Anyway I just thought I'd put this here to help people out.

Thanks again for this excellent guide!

  • I drooped my N8 in water and power button damaged what can I do ?? pls help

  • @mishosk8 take the battery out as soon as possible! then swing the phone around in a sock in different positions to get as much water out as you can. Then disassemble it as much as you can and leave to dry in a warm place(I also used a hair dryer). When its completely dry it might work normally again

  • Now, that´s how you make a "Disassembly & Reassembly" video. Great work :) thumps up

  • @MrGadgetMe Thank you :-)

  • I dropped my nokia n8 from about a foot high and the screen froze, now it wont power up at all, I disassembled it and reassembled it according to your video in the hopes that some conectors were off, and again it wont power up, even plugged in charger. What could have the fall broken inside the phone, do you have any ideas? I did not find any broken bits inside it, all was intact.

  • @spooky1000 Sounds strange as they are quite tough compared to some phones. Does it buzz 3 times when you hold the power button down for 10 seconds? Or does a PC/Laptop recognise when it on a USB connection?

  • @LE55ONS It does not buzz, but the pc beeps when I plug it in and then a few seconds later it beeps again as like I unplugged a USB device.

  • @spooky1000 Sorry I don't know what might be wrong :-(

  • Thanks for your video. I got a micro sim stuck in the sim card slot. Am I able to get this out myself or is this something I should get a technician to do?

  • @prittyboy01 I would use a skilled technician as the sim card holder is easy to break and hard to replace..

  • thanx for the effort to share this with us, without yor help my N8 would likely not have survived my attempts to replace the bottom shell :-)))

  • @LE55ONS thanks but for some strange reason it just started working :/ I swear this thing has a mind of its own but thanks for the vid because the shop told me I needed a new screen and you saved me £50 :)

  • I didn't change my screen but I had to plug it back in an now my button doesn't work what can I do? :/

  • @ReconsGaming This is quite normal, if you re-flash your firmware with the new Symbian update it will be fine :-)

  • best review !! good one mate .. super thumbs up !!

  • I have done change my screen, but after this,my main button doesn't work. Its work only when the keys are lock, and I can use the main button for unlock the keys, but this not able to get to me on home page..What I can do?Please help anyone!!!!!!!!!!

  • @24cimbo This is quite normal, if you re-flash your firmware with the new Symbian Anna it will be fine :-)

  • thanks bro exceptional video with nice clear quality and effective

  • great video it helped my dads phone to repair a lot

  • Thanks for the great video! I broke the SIM slot on my N8 (thanks microSIM adapter) and my replacement part is on the way. Do you know if the SIM slot is simply a pop off piece from the main board or is it more complicated? Thanks a lot.

  • @supfoo214 I wish it did 'pop off', but its soldered on many points and needs very 'hot air' to melt all the solder joints. I would suggest you leave this job to a skilled technician..

  • very very very nice

    tthank u so much

    very nice

  • what about the nokia n9 ?!

  • @mo3aZz1 I've now uploaded a screen change video for the Lumia 800, it might be the same for the N9?

  • Mad props for this video. There is no way that I could have repaired my phone so easily without this. Thanks very much for posting!

  • I notice my camera s not in the center of the black ring like yours it is working fine you have any suggestion why it is like that mines was manufactured in china plz and ty.

  • hello Sir thanks for this video.i shall be very thankfull to you if U can please upload a video about replacement of ACER E101 touch screen.

  • @sheraaz121 OK, I'll add that to my growing list, but first I have to do an X7, Lumia 800 and a few others. Thanks for watching

  • @LE55ONS Thanks for considering it.Thank you very much.

  • I am reassembling my N8 but after reasembling it the digitalizer screen doesn't work. I have checked the two conections and are Ok. Is necessary a Hard Reset? What am I doing wrong?

  • @Tibu18 What parts did you replace?

  • for some stupid REASON I Wasnt able to put back the bottom cover PROPERLY but after putting the side screw first AND PUSHING it together the bottom cover snicked in quit comfortably, YOU ARE a LIFE SAVER...THANKS

  • @flawlessking99 Well done for working that out, sorry I forgot to show how to do that in this version, I've now put a note on this one to push the screws in at that last stage, thanks for watching

  • I wish I could pay you 150 pounds to change my nokia n8 top and bottom cover, the battery and the touchscreen as well as the back cover, eventually, all the outer cover, i want it to be change~ :D if possible. i would pay more, 300 pounds?

  • @ironicdevil666 Thanks for the offer, but I don't do repairs. I just enjoy making the videos. I'm sure you can save yourself some money and do it yourself. Just buy the parts and follow this video, you can't really go wrong...

  • thanks yaar

  • thanks for this video ....... excellent.......

  • 1 mobile phone repair guy from around the corner lol.Your competition mate lol

  • @tev1988 Hi Tev, G'day from the UK :-)

  • @LE55ONS I feel like sending my N8 to you to repair proffesionally and replace anything that is missing from when the Asian dude "fixed" it lol

  • Hey great explanations! Thank you!

My phone isn't charging so I want to change the charging piece.

I tried looking it up on ebay but didn't find anything.

Is it the same as in any different nokia phone?

  • @moonlightshedow I've just looked and there's loads on ebay, try searching for 'charging block n8' :-)

  • Hi mate. just got a N8 but seems to have the purple tint screen issue... its not that bad.. it shows up when i use test images with grey colors to determinate the screen colors... i wanted to ask is that a screen problem or hardware-related problem? sorry for my english hope u can answer me.

  • @JJLL26 I'm not sure to be honest, if you read down through all the comments you'll see someone else with the same problem. You could message them and ask if they managed to fix it

  • Great vid

  • @MarfiaMan Forget trying to change the sim card holder, its very difficult without special tools. You cant use a normal soldering iron it needs to be very hot air to melt the solder on all the connections, even ones inside the holder.

I strongly suggest you leave this job to skilled technician..

  • first thanks man for your replay and realy i hope you not to forgot me and upload a disassembly video for nokia x7 take your time and i will wait

and again thanks man for the great work and i hope you upload more videos for the next new phones comes from nokia

at the end hope to see your disassembly video for nokia x7 soon

    thanks again

  • Own up! Who clicked the dislike button?

  • plz plz plz tell me how to change the touchscreen frame from the old casing and and put the old touch glass in the new frame the frame that holds the touch glass and how to take the antena out of the lower part and put it in a new cover plz bro really need ure help

  • @zbakabak You'll need to use lots of heat to remove the old touchscreen, be careful not to burn yourself though. The antenna is stuck in with double sided sticky tape, it will come out using a flat screwdriver but be careful not to damage the copper circuit. You might find you'll need to cut off some small plastic pins to put the antenna back in the new case. I'll try and make a video sometime soon

  • @LE55ONS sir plz can u upload the video on this issue how to how to take the antenna out and put it in a new one and how to remove the touch glass ill be very thankful to you but make that as soon as possible cuz my phone housing is in very bad condition have to change it wait for ure reply. and Two Thumbs up for the assembles and dissemblance ive seen so many videos but urs is the best of all

    regards Zeeshan

  • @zbakabak I've done a quick video on how to change the GSM antenna and put it as a video response. I'm not going to attempt making another touch screen video as its way too messy..

  • @LE55ONS Bro thanks a lot Two thumbs up .. and as for the touchscreen i think i should leave it as it is cuz its hard to disassemble it i not going to break my original touch glass thanks a lot again God bless you ..

  • I tried to disassemble my n8 to today and halfway through 2 little screw nuts in plastic casings fell out...i watched your video and you explained very clearly that the are the screw holders for the bottom cover...Excellent tutorial and high quality video!! Thumbs UP!

  • @Vinnybyrne1992 Thanks for the thumbs up, I've now put a 'time link' to the plastic nuts in the description :-)

  • i watched all your disassembly videos man realy the best videos i have ever seen ! truly very good work man

there is somthing i want from you i want you to upload disassembly video for THE NOKIA X7 plz plz man i need this video plz can you do that for me

  • @ADhaM25879 Yes I have plans to make one on the X7, I'm hope to get my hands on one in the next few weeks. But I'm working on other projects so it might be a while before I get the chance to make it.

    Thanks for your comments

  • hey LE55ONS... can you tell me where i can find the parts for my Nokia N8... i am finding it really hard to find the parts i need...

  • @giri848 Try using 'Google Shopping', that where I find everything I need...

  • i've tried to change the touchscreen frame and i've destroyed the touchscreen...:))

    nice work dude!!

grad to see it 's working !!!

  • @TheMisterCMD The glue they use is extremely strong, I had to use a 'paint stripping' hot air gun to remove my screen. I did video the process but its much too messy, getting broken glass everywhere. Best idea is to buy one with the frame :-)

  • can u plz plz help me wid my camera replacement? i want to change my camera as i am not having any nokia care outlet in my city or nearby so i hav only got 1 ooption and that is to change it by myself and i am totally helpless because i hav never changed camera thou i can do alot of mobile repairing but whn it comes to camera i become dumb as i dnt know anythng untill and unless i see somone do this. so plz make a video of changing a camera plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Superb Job done ... That was the detailed one ... And also included reassembly... WOW....

  • @LE55ONS Thank you, thank you, thank you....it'd be a great help for me. I really need to fix the sim slot and the phone is not even mine so um really scared!!

  • Thank you very much for the diassembly of Nokia N8 video , this is very helpful for me .

  • thanks man ur nokia n8 diassembly helpd me a lot. but my sim card got stucked (it was cutted short for iphone then putted back in) I know its a silly mistake. also wen i tried pullin out the sim 1 of the pin got bended a bit....is it possible to fix it? can u make a video for that pls???

  • @ishansardar I've had a close look and its not an easy job. You'll need someone with good soldering skills to remove the metal shield that goes over the sim card contacts.

Sorry I can't be of any more help than that..

  • @LE55ONS ahw...I'll see if i can push it out with a tweezer through the small holes it has on top of it...thanks anyway :)
