That doesn't negate their contribution to popular music .I'm over the snobbery and elitism of the haters. they were actors who were hired to play a music group and in the process they became a music group. Actually the Byrds debut album had 3 songs by Gene Clark, who was the main songwriter for the group in the early days and 2 co-written by Clark & McGuinn. The Monkees debut song had 2 songs by Michael Nesmith and that is it, so you are incorrect with your statement concerning the Byrds who had 5 original songs on their debut compared to 2 by the Monkees.
Their last year of the series they didn't have any writers or something; or maybe Mike decided to do that too. But when they came out they were our weekly supply of "Beatles" ... better than Viet Nam news.

It can't be - it's a right hand and comming from the forescreen. Mickey's right shoulder is by Davy's head. Mickey couldn't possibly be reach Davy with that hand from that angle.

Wow, now THAT was excellent!! This is when Davy could still sing; and Peter's voice, just phenomenal. What a shame he only had a few good songs to sing (Shades of Grey) when they were still a group.
He once said that he through it into the audience at a concert they were doing at the time, and that it was returned to him about twenty or thirty some years later. By the same person who caught it I suppose lol. :p
Thanks for making me cry! God, life goes by so fast. The Monkees' music is timeless, no matter what decade. The are such positive role models for kids, then and now. They helped bridge the age gap between kids and their parents. I enjoyed listening to them as a child, and I still do to this day. I hope they are around for many more years. Rock on.

I just love all of it without any preferences except for only a couple-the picture with Mike wearing his royal blue suit and white shirt with white ruffled cufflinks and the concert pictures of Mike,too from back then because he made that happen

I normally prefer Micky's singing voice to Davy's but Davy's voice on this is absolutely gorgeous. I feel like I'm 13 again :-)
